Thank you for choosing this video to upload. I am a Japanese. It is interesting that there were a lot of musicians visited Japan from the USSR between the late 1950s and 1980s, even thoughMost of these years, Japan considered the USSR as an opponent. I was born in 1959, and Leonid Kogan has been one of my favorite violinists for over 50 years. This version sounds a little bit more emotional among other Chaconne performances (:
Thank you for posting this. I came across a recording of some Beathoven trlos from about the same period of time it has been one of my favorite recordings since I found it in a thrift store. Leonid Kogan certainly has a cry in his playing. This was wonderful to find . I just played it for my mom who recently had a bad stroke but I believe she heard this.

This aged lady is also the sister of great pianist Gilels and a violin prodigy hersefl
This lady is a WONDERFUL violinist, too!
Who ?

Unfortunate that the D major section was cut out, but this performance is incredible. Thanks for uploading.
Yes, unfortunately!!
Brillant player!
Very emotional performance! Loved it!
wooooooooow, I can´t believe I didn´t hear it before
👍
Top of fhe Violin Art!!!!🎵🎶🎻😁
oh, there is a consistent cut in the middle...
Hypersonic vibrato at play 😁🤘🏻
I wish I knew what she talked about 😭
Just look closely,he wanted to play D major chord, but they cut it
Dislike. Kogan is a giant among men, but whoever chose to cut the D major section needs to spend time in prison.
So agree , its a huge pity there is no middle section of Chaconne :((
Anyone found a full recording? I couldn't believe it when it skipped!
Maybe due to some technical problems with this aged recording......
At least we can find the complete record of the audio version on youtube

Most ladies did live longer
