I had just started the first vlog from today and the notification came up for this video! I’ll go back once I’m done here haha!
Watching from Maine. I signed up for my very first race this year at age 27, but it got cancelled. I’ve learned so much about racing from watching your page. Learning to be patient and looking forward to finally racing in 2021! Thanks for everything!
The Nova blast is my favorite Asics shoe right now love them.
Asics Gel Kayano 27 they're super comfortable shoes to run in. I usually wear them on my slow/easy days considering they are stability shoes. I posted my first running vlog today. Thank you for the inspiration. You are part of the reason why I started running this year.
QD: Glideride’s. I just picked up a pair because of your video, and WOW! That’s all I have to say. So comfortable, and effortless running. They are excellent!
I can't imagine that I'm the only one who experiences some anxiety at the start of Seth's shoe reviews wondering if ' Is this going to be another shoe I want to buy!'
How to do the emoji ? I don't know hahah
@@kemalluxia8305 gotta become a member!!
I pre-ordered them from Runners Warehouse. Will come out just after Christmas. Thanks for the review Seth!
Glideride is my shoe of year! 465 miles still feel great and got a great deal on 2 more pair! Logged a couple 18 milers also and my legs felt great the next day
I definitely love the GlideRides for 2019/2020, but I have to say that EvoRide 2/Tri-Noosa 13 in 2021 are looking amazing!
Asics have made some fantastic shoes in the last 2 years. The Glideride, Metaracer and Novablast are three of my favourites.
In fact the Novablast may just be my shoe of the year for 2020 ! 😀
While running in the Novablasts this morning I was hoping you'd review this soon. The colorway is great. I'll be getting this one.
QD: I really am split between the Evoride and the Metaracer both super fun shoes. Evoride for daily training and Metaracer for race day, I think they work really well together.
I can't understand why someone watch Seth's video just to dislike it.
That outsole looks great for trail racing on some groomed trails. Good amount of rubber and a bit luggy. Might have to give this one a look at that price; still haven't run in an Asics! I used to enjoy the 1400 for some trails and this one looks like it could be a winner for those of us who like more reduced shoes.
Nice double today!! I only own one pair of Asics at the moment and they are the Evoride. I have a love/hate relationship with those, a bit too firm but quite fast with a nice rocker feel to it.
I’m from North Carolina and we call that UNC blue! Haha. Love it!
Love that color
I will say it’s the best color and look I have ever seen out of a racing shoe with that amazing baby blue.
QD: Glideride! Just snagged my 2nd pair on sale!
Love the Metaracer so I think I'll love this one for my tempo and save metaracer for race day.
Wow Asics is really nailing it. Love the Novablast. I just want a cut down version of it, a simpler version. I do like the look of this, it’s like the first version of the zante
QD: Got my Novablasts 2 weeks ago and I just can't stop running in them! My favorites by far!
I have the Nova blast, there a great show.
Oh man, i read this as you got the 2nd edition of the Novablast...HA!!
@@jackash1975 i wish! already looking forward to the new version (so the old one goes on sale haha)
Notification crew!
Hello!
Is this a more responsive midsole than soft? Personally much prefer responsive/ hard
🙋🏻♀️
@@tmcowley definitely more responsive than soft, good question tom.
Glideride for sure (although I have only ran in it and the Gel Venture 7 so far, would love to try out the Novablast sometime also). Picked it up recently on ASICS Black Friday deal for around $90 including tax and shipping.
Back to basics. A sure winner.
Hey Seth! You mentioned having better options for a 5k, is there a shoe matrix somewhere you have made for different distance races?
QOD: FAVORITE and only Asics 👟 would have to be the Novablast! Fantastic bounce springy shoe!
GlideRide 2 review, it's going to be awesome.
Seth you have got to try the Saucony Peregrine or specifically the Sloppy Trail (ST) version because I know you love aggressive lugs
Novablast for sure. Got 2 pairs. One at ~400 miles already. So light and bouncey compared to my old Nimbus 19.
Love the blue colourway on the hyperspeed!
I've also got the metaracer but not used much. I'd have been tempted by the hyperspeed if I hadn't dropped my birthday money on the metaracer.
And glideride will be under the Xmas tree.
Asics Fujitrabuco Pro, top class serious trail shoe for my money. I suspect it’s a more aggressive shoe than the Trabuco Max you’ve been mentioning. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on that Seth.
Glideride all day!! Own the evo, glide and novablast, collectively 800 miles and glideride is my go to
How weird, I own all 3 too. Currently facing injury issues and got about 30 combined miles in them 😂 but Glideride definitely my go to, but I am running slow now and need the added stability.
QD: Novablast, love them
QD: loving the glideride. Have a set of novablasts too but I'm not stable enough to run distance in them.
On asics and their use of rubber spare a thought for those of us running on wet pavement and cobbles! 😂 Asics are some of the only shoes I feel safe in in the rain. My Hokas hit the press and stay there the first sign of moisture because of the lack of rubber 😂😉
QD: Novablast! Deceptively fast for a max-cushioned shoe. Almost all my PBs at the moment are in the Novablast despite having what are supposed to be "faster" trainers.
QD: Glideride has been great. Legs feel so fresh after running those, it's wild. On sale right now on the Asics site! After hearing everyone praise the Novablast, I tried them on in store but they just felt too unstable for me. Darn!
for an Asics "racing" shoe...i like the colour.
QD: Battle between the Glideride vs. Novablast. I have to say stats wise, the Novablast have turned out to be a better shoe for long long runs, but they're faster too. I guess that means Novablast is superior, but there is something about the solid construction of the Glideride. If I could only have one, it'd have to be the Novablast though. Luckily, I get both.
The Asics Tartheredge is a performance shoe for 5k 10k and for speed half :)
I ran in Novablast, good running shoes. but most of all I liked the Gt1000-9.
QD: Asics Novablast, the only new Asics shoe I own. GREETINGS FROM SALZBURG/AUSTRIA!!!
QD: 100% the Asics Novablast. Perfect for al lot of different kind of runs and a fun shoe to run in.
Glideride is the best Asics running trainer. I hope next iteration they gonna use less bulky upper and more cheerful color combinations.
That's subjective. The lighter and much more fun Novablast to me is better. But we are all winners here.
Glideride needs to lose the dense upper, unless you constantly run around the arctic circle. I've retired it into my winter rotation. It's just too warm for me. The Metaracer though is wonderfully light and breathy. Then again, it's not strictly a training run shoe.
For me, it is the Novablast. It is weird looking, it soaks up water/sweat like a sponge and it is loud...but boy is it fun!! Also picked up the Glideride now that price has dropped a bit. At 50ish miles, the Glideride is super stable and comfortable...but that weight!! Whew...
QD: Asics Glideride...absolutely
QD: Asics Gel-contend 5. Onward and upward!
Third
edit: I think a shoe that is similar to this is the Nike Streak 7. It's $110 but it comes in a bit lighter.
I think this is quite similar to the Adidas SL20 right? In terms of weight, price and stack height. Which one would you prefer in head to head comparison?
QoD: I have the Nimbus 22, Dynaflyte, Fujitrabuco pro and the Novablast. Have to go with the Novablast for sure.
Love my Metaracers... tempo & speed days
I was trying to decide between this streaks lt4 for track workouts/ road works what would you recommend? The hyperspeed does have a higher stack and it’s lighter. But I’m assuming a bit slower?
Looks super light. But how does it taste?
In your opinion, what would you say are some of the best energy return running shoes?
QD: the Novablast. Also happens to be the only Asics that I've tried in many years, so who am I to judge.
Double upload!
got these shoes, super good, might got 0.5 or 1 size bigger but a solid 9/10 for the money
Do you think their following new balances approach, with this shoe being the training shoe and the metaracer being the racing shoe
QD: Novablast definitely 😁
Nimbus lite still but just got a pair of novablast so it may jump ahead??
Slovenia :) how did you get that upper? :)
GLIDERIDE (2 pairs) and TRABUCO LIGHT no doubt!!!
I left a message on Strava but I'm not sure if you check them. Your friend is on today's Carrie Tollefsons podcast 😃👍
My favorite shoes Glideride
:shoe: can’t go wrong with powder blue look 👌🏼
This or rincon 3? Cause in my country got discount which is pretty similar price
I really enjoy my Gel-Kayano 26's. First off they are down right sexy! Also, they are great gym shoes being that they are stability shoes plus the Flytefoam is stiff enough to stand up to heavy deadlifting and squatting! They are absolutely TERRIBLE to run in and put my whole lower body in pain for several days! Sooooo,,,, they are not my kind of running shoes but great daily shoes for sure..
very considerable!!
what app do you use to track the miles per shoe? looks better than an excel file lol
I don't know how much I buy your durability predictions...When was the last time you took a shoe past 200 miles (since you have so many to test)? For a lot of people who aren't super skinny runner types, midsoles are going to be spent way before the outsole is done.
I think it is durability for him it is a very personal thing though with weight, form ,fit , speed , and surface effecting durability and which part breaks down first a good tip is paying attention to what part he says will wear down first
There's almost nothing more exciting than a lightweight, fast pair of shoes at a good pricepoint. It almost makes me forget to spend money on a good pair of everyday trainers to save my legs during recovery runs. 😅
all in the mind. before the supershoes these type of shoes were being used for long runs and marathon races. i ran 2 marathons with same pair of kinvaras. now people say it's not enough for half marathon
Novablast, love this shoe. Would be interested to see a Novablast with a carbon plate...
Agreed, the Novablast needs a carbon plate for a bit of extra stability. The foam though is fantastic. It has potential to compete against the Vaporfly if it gets that carbon plate.
Your choice for ride (anywhere from 6-12mi) between this and the Atreyu base trainer would be...? Steasy pace
its good for low arch foot ???
seth pls review the spikes :(
Color isn't very exciting. I'm partial to multicolor tho. Funny how the negative is unnecessary weight and the positive is it's light weight. Just testing out the Novablast now. 16mi in and starting to see what all the hype is about.
Color reminds me of the onitsuka tiger Lady Jayhawk from the 1970s
The rubber is likely a good idea in this shoe because it'll add snap to a simple EVA midsole and it'll up the durability
Novablast. Hands down. Bought the Glideride. Returning them. Hate them. Cant say it any other way. Buying another pair of Novablasts.
How does this (Hyper Speed) compare with Magic Speed?
i am a high school runner that needs an affordable shoe that I can do lots of intervals on the track in. this shoe would prolly work pretty well for me given that the outsole doesn't fall apart on me lol
You should seriously try the brooks revel 4
Seth! Do you think the full length outsole rubber could act like a plate in the shoe to give it some energy return?
I don’t think so, or else every shoe would have a full length rubber outsole lol
the outsole gives it stiffness which allows for a more effective rocker
Only had 1 Asics, I think it's from from 2018 though...it's gel-excite 7...most people would consider it to be a beginner budget shoe...to me, at that time, it was first serious more expensive shoe (76€), up until then, I got only shoes under 40€ 😅 I'd recommend that shoe to anyone who wants to start running longer distances, regardless of the pace 😊 If I got the Novablast instead of the peg 37, I'm sure I'd say Novablast 😂
Novablast the most under appreciated shoes. For me the best shoes for 5k 10k 21k and 42k
Glideride too
After watching this review, this shoe looks very exciting especially considering the ratio price-score. In general, I've been a huge adidas boston fan for its affordability, performance and minimalist design but this shoe from Asics is very tempting.
Yoooo where did you get Slovenian jeresy😍🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮
I think he got it on mountain WC in Argentina last year.
Guys, does anyone know which shoe he's rated the highest out of all his reviews
Great review! Something to consider adding to my rotation for next year. QOD: Novablast definitely... might go for a 2nd pair next year! Especially with the discounts. The OCD in me wanted to scrape off that gum for Seth at 3:57 hahaha!🤔🤔🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️✌🏻✌🏻🤣😂🤣
still the Glideride ;) Novablast a close 2nd place
QD: I’ve never ran in ASICS shoes, but for any wrestlers out there, I would endorse the snapdown 2s. They have good traction, good flexibility, and are durable
QD: Evoride....the Godilocks of shoes for me....
I like this smurf color, but it'd be more kick with an other color combo.
QotD: Novablast, no question.
QD: Novablast!
QD: dynaflite 3
Asics is back???
Glideride and Novablast
:qod:
1. EvoRide (3 pairs)
2. Novablast (2 pairs)
3. GlideRide (2 pairs)
Wanted to try the Nimbus Lite but they're €180,- in Europe, what's ASICS thinking?
Nimbus Lite are impossible for Europeans to get their hands on or overpriced. I dont understand their marketing.
QD: Novablast
