I wouldn’t include both the 1927 and 1928 Yankees. They’re almost the same team. Replace the 1928 team with the 1939 team. The 1939 team had 106 wins, five more than the 1928 team. Also, that was the year that Lou Gehrig was diagnosed with ALS. Imagine how dominant that team would’ve been if he didn’t have that disease.
39 basically doesn't include Gehrig. He only played like a dozen or so games that year. The year before, prior to diagnosis, Gehrig was literally breaking down and he had an OPS+ of 129. Lou Gehrig was built different.
They would have been even more dominant then they were already, had Lou Gehrig not had that extremely rare disease named after him. It was really bad luck for him because only 12 people had the extremely rare disease he had which made him the 13th. 13 is well known as the bad luck number.
'98 Yankees were part of the 3peat team that went on to win 3 World Series in a row😁 The last being against the extremely jealous Mess(Mets)😂😂😂 They wish they could have 27 World Series titles😂😂😂
The 1927 Yankees team was the best ever - period! No other team-all inclusive (including all the baseball line-ups in all cities) came even close! and I am not even a Yankee fan.
2009 team instead of 1939 is ridiculous. 1928 probably does not belong either. Could put in '23, '38 or '41. Also consider '53 team that won it's fifth straight World Series beating the best Brooklyn Dodgers team of all time.
Couldn't just not win MVP back to back, in that era, once you won once, you were ineligible for the award. I believe it was like that from 1914-1931 or so. If you look at Ruth's numbers and compare them to the MVP each year, Babe should be MVP. From like 1923-1930 or so he was just the obvious MVP every year but 1925. he probably should have won the award a couple times between 1919 and 1922 as well.
@@snerdterguson Not a Yankee fan, believe me. Just mentioning that the Yankees haven't won in forever. Even though they get every break in the book from the UMPS.
@@gerrypellissier9551 you’re ignorant if you think the Yankees are getting favorable calls. Aaron Judge literally has, not only the most bad strikes called against him since he debuted, but every single season 2017-2023 he had the most called against him. Also, you’re horrible at math. I want you to open the calculator on your phone and subtract 2009 from 2023 and report back with what number you get… hint… it isn’t 22 or really even close to it.
98 yanks is easily the best team of all time im a yankee fan and you know how do we lose in 2001 man I wish me did for 911😢❤
💯

Also, the 1939 team is the only one in MLB history that outscored opponents by more than 400 runs in a season.

Interesting, none of these teams have Joe DiMaggio on them...the '98 Yankees, overall, went 125-50, you might want to mention that...

1998 Yankees The best ever I’m a Yankees fan !
Please tell me the thumbnail is irrelevant and the 2009 team didn't actually make the top 5.

Good points
1927 1928 1936 1998 8:08 1961
1939 Yanks
The Yankees !! Are they still a team ? They haven't won in 22 years. And hopefully they won't win for another 22 years.
Who are you a fan of and why do the Yankees have a free place to stay in your mind?

22 years? I think you should recheck that number. It is more like 13 years. I know it's been a while, but not as long as you say.
How old is this ? You can't add or subtract
2009 to 2031 would be 22 years, it's not 2031 Sparky 😂😂😂
