- Status Quo playing Whatever you want at a "Night of the Proms" show.
They seem to enjoy themselves quite much, and so do the orchestra and crowd :) - Видеоклипы
There is not a person alive today who doesn’t smile their arse clean off at this. RIP Rick, and thanks for leaving us with something this goddamn awesome.
Still can't believe Rick & Alan have passed away... ☹️
Could not agree with you more.
Couldn't have put it better meself; this is pure class... 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
AMEN BRO!!!!!!
The dude on the double base gets me every time! Living his best life! 😂
There’s amazing and there’s amazing. This is is simply the best of Quo
There isn't a musician or an audience member in that arena that will ever forget this performance......Just brilliant..
Yep 💯👍🏽 but fantastic owe only 4 grips on guitar EADG
This isn't about whether you like the Quo, whether you like orchestral music, whether you like the proms or whatever. It's about whether you like being alive. Joyous.
Music like this makes you realise that you ARE alive.
I have regrets about this band. My son aged about 8 playing air guitar ( he's 52 now and still playing the guitar). I live in Cognac ( yeh that place), and some years ago they headed the bill on Cognac Blues Passion - the audience in a small amphitheatre was only a few thousand- but they played for 2 hours non-stop, and I was totally exhausted at the end. So now, hearing this, with this intro, makes me cry (I'm only 80 years old), the pleasure is indescribable . In a way,(this is going to cause trouble), it reminds me of the big orchestras playing instrumental versions of Beatles songs back in the day. Thank you Quo, for more than 40 years of pleasure 😂😂😂😂
R I P rick, STATUS QUO ONE OF THE BEST MUSIC FOR EVER
The music snobs still rattle on about Quo's so called limited music ability but my ears know what they like. Always were and always will be one of the best rock bands ever. GO QUO!!!
They weren't the most talented musicians or even songwriters. No band could rock a stadium like Quo, just the best live band on the planet. RIP Alan and Rick.
With over 60 (correct) chart hits, more than any other band, who cares what music snobs say. Terrific group
Their longevity and their sell out concerts speak for itself.
Absolutely brilliant ☺️☺️
Everyone has the right to be an idiot. Or a King Cnut. I respect thet tou think that idiot pop music is your bag.im also so very happy you can read.
This has to be one of the most epic performances ever, still gives me goosebumps
Who ever suggested Quo at the Proms was a genius as was the person who approved it.
First heard Quo in 68 as a nine year old, they've never disappointed. I don't know anyone that hasn't walked away without a smile on their face after watching this performance. RIP Rick and Allen.
This is pure musical gold. Can’t believe how much fun the orchestra are having let alone the band
The sax player reminded me how hard it is to smile and play at the same time.
67 years old and still love this great band....rocking never stops..
3/4 of a century old diggin it bigly from Utica NY
Rock on. 62 years coming up
I'm 70 and still rockin'
66 and still rocking on
One of THE MOST underrated intros to a song EVER!! Seen Quo loads live and will never tire of their music and particularly this video!!
Just goes to show, how good were these guys. Just look at what's going on behind them. RIP Rick, god bless and thanks for all the entertainment you provided over the years.
The orchestra are playing out of their skins having the time of their lives proving that rock n roll and opera do mix, when it is by genuine musically gifted people and that it transcends all generations. RIP Rick.😄😁🥂🍾👍🍺
Quo definetly died when Rick died.
Wow.. Just when I think it doesn’t get any better, I find this video.. Wow
Not a single soul unmoved in the building .. not a single foot not tapping .. raw naked rock and roll meets the establishment and what a match made in heaven .. QUO FOREVER !!!
They were iconic and broke through every barrier as shown here.
This performance is gorgeous. I never saw an orchestra swing like this
The fun the orchestra is having makes this a bit special.
Best of luck conducting that orchestra!!! RIP Rick.
Just to see members of the orchestra rocking to a timeless classic while playing their will only be one Status Quo awesome .
Used to go to their concerts every year with my three daughters. Nights to remember. Thanks Status Quo.
Great band and wonderful personalities I met Francis and Rick great guys friendly and really grateful of their fans. Viva quo.
How can you not ROCK to this?
Even the orchestra musicians were getting it on - effing brilliant - unforgettable!!
Glad to say that we saw the QUO live twice .
love seeing how the bass violinists and cello players go absolutely nuts
War live dabei, bekomme Tränen in die Augen
Best rendition of this song ever played.
I agree and i saw Quo many a time back in the olden days, usually in London, whilst taking the train from Kent, and missing the last train, as we did back then. Their concerts were magic
R.I.P Rick. Gone but definitley NOT forgotten.
The guy on the cello is nailin it....😀
Classic rock that rocks...Status Quo at their best here.
I am a full time carer. Late at night, I sit out under the stars. These guys put me back together. Does, not het any better.
I had no idea they ever did the PROMS BLOODY MARVELOUS!!
WOW! Quo with an 80 piece behind them. Excellent!
I saw them years ago ,the best i have ever seen ,best night ever .
This intro has to be registered in the world´s treasures of history!!
The young members of the orchestra are having a blast!!
This is when a collaboration really works!
I still remember that show. It was our very first NOTP in '99. Since then, it's a must-be-event for us. Unfortunately, I learnd today that John Miles passed away yesterday.
Status quo have been in my life for 50 years, great band
Don't care what anybody says,
still the best live band around.
The most underrated band ever.
As someone who remembers the original release I can only say I wish I had been there for this. B**dy wonderful performance by all!!
Just look at how may people like them they make music fun .
I was there standing front row. It was awesome. They did play as if they didn`t care about the whole classical orchestra behind them though :) And man, it was loud.
I will miss them. I saw them five times over 35 years.
Immerse yourself in the QUO.
Now that's rock and roll.
This deserves more likes. Outstandingly good rock 'n' roll from Quo and friends.
I don’t know their names, but can remember in the 80s the pianist had dark hair and mustache and ice cold look, like he was angry all the time. And now almost unrecognizable. White hair white mustache and not so angry look. I think we all going to soften up with age!
@@bubamaranovichok4901 it's easy to find out yourself,mate🎹🎵
Rick & Francis were a total powerhouse of rock!🤟😄🎸🎸🎶🎶
@@bubamaranovichok4901 Andy Brown is the guy you are on about - the 5th un named member of Quo
@@mcfcguvnorsle chitarre cantano.. 🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶💯💯💯💯
What a classic. Always loved Status Quo.
I have never seen so many smiles on the faces of an orchestra that has to play boring msic for a living ?
one of the GREATEST rock duo's to ever grace the stage
Oh my good God. What a ball. Quo at the proms and there was not one soul there who did not absolutely rock that. The orchestra adored it, the band adored it and I loved it. Over the years Quo have been loved, derided , but they have stood the test of time. Played Piledriver a few weeks back and it sure did take me back . Joyous music and they have brought pleasure to the masses over five plus decades. I love Quo and God bless Rick . RIP
Don’t think the conductor knew what was going on 😂
MUSIK FÜR DIE EWIGKEIT....SIMPLY QUO
So true so very true you could tell that the orchestra loved it by the way they where rocking to it.
How can you not like this? Born 61 so I was a teenager when this was on the radio toplists.
THE ONE AND ONLY---STATUS QUO!!!
Rest in peace Rick. It was great to be there live in 1999 Ahoy Rotterdam. Gladly i have it on dvd.
Not only the audience is getting a kick out of the music, even the whole band! Amazing, the best!!
I loved Status Quo. They developed a style and they stuck to it. Good, honest rock 'n roll without frills. Thanks guys.
To see many of these orchestral dudes getting it on just made it for me. Absolutely f**king incredible!!!!
I have watched this many times. Its very addictive and its bloody brilliant. The orchestra are obviously loving it as well. The intro by the orchestra is damn good. Rick on the guitar at the start makes the guitar sound absolutely beautiful. All in all its a video if you like Quo you cannot afford to miss. RIP RP you brought much joy to everyone over the years. RP you are surely missed by everyone. Andy Brown the keyboard player wrote this song in about an hour. He thought he had done it and asked his wife to look at it. Her reply was. I think you have done it. Thank you for uploading this classic video. PC. 22. 10. 2020.
Brilliant- love how the orchestra gets in the rocking mood.
A lot of people do not seem to understand that the orchestra are professional musicians, who probably had the time of their lives rocking with the legends. I have never seen a french horn so animated!
_Nobody_ leaves a Quo concert without a smile on their face! :)
Erre szokták mondani, hogy ez nem semmi! Világ egyik legjobbjai!
R.I.P. Rick, we miss you. Thanks for the memories!
The orchestra and this song blend like no other.
truely amazing. great to see a moshing orchestra!!!
Love the intro mixture of Star Wars and W.Y.W. and how the orchestra play along with the band and the crowd is unreal and like em or not the Mighty Status Quo always nailed it for the big occasions.....
WOW! I mean F****G WOW!! Its jest GREAT to see the orchestra head banging away with the Quo and rocking their arses off. Absolutetly FABULOUS.
With the COVID-19 restrictions being lifted slowly, this performance takes me back to another time and yeah I'm being a teenager all over again!!!!!
totally brilliant. looks like everyone had a lot of fun excellent!!! GO QUO
Love the way the orchestra got totally involved Magic
what a rocking performance. the guys really rip it up
Let's all make an effort to preserve this amazing music. Long live Rock and Roll and bands like Status Quo.
One of the greatest gigs ever❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
still makes me tingle what a concert ,and fantastic to see the orchestra head banging.
what seems so simple becomes so profound given time
I'm turning 32 soon and I am so absolutely grateful that my parents introduced me to STATUS QUO when I was roundabout eight years old. Today I play the drums, the keys and I am shit on guitar but I do my best. All thanks to my parents and their very good taste of music.
Seeing STATUS in December right here in my hometown of Munich. Can't wait!
Hey it`s not that you are shit on the guitar the point is that you are trying and no one can fault you for that. So please keep it up.
How anyone could put a thumbs down is beyond me... BRILLIANT!!!
Probably unhappy human beings.
Unaware...
Because they're heathens!
@@rogersimmons8788 Haters perhaps.
@@rogersimmons8788 now now, we all have our own opinion just because it does not run in line with yours.

In these very sad and Dangerous times RUclips and this Music is massive in keeping you sane and putting a SMILE on your face!! What's not to LOVE!!!
I had the good fortune to see them in concert twice, each time supporting Rod Stewart, and they were amazing both times.
The best bit was the two guitarists in the the orchestra head bangning - that tells you everything
Brilliant. What's not to like about this? The orchestra really got into it with Quo.
seen these guys play live a number of times and they put on a fantastic show. This song has to have one of the best intros there is, building up from the start with the guitars and building up until the drums come thundering in.
what an astounding rhytmguitarist he was, truly the man behind the genuine status quo beat, RIP Rick
Utter categorical legend was Rick!
Amen go that.
They were the best at what they did
Brilliant the orchestra are having as much fun as the crowd fantastic
Impossible not smile while hearing this. Impossible.
Grande

Show your kids. Best history lesson ever.
Simon Beaumont still one of the best intros of any song.Saw them a few times live, fantastic every time.
I love the Quo BUT.....the star of this video has to be the conductor. What on earth is that noise behind me? Quality!!!
"What's this called Dad?"
"That's called rock 'n' roll son"
Anyoldion perfect...
@@kaywaters4427 It makes me think back to when a certain person said "if it aint rock and roll it aint fun"; how true that is and what fun Quo has had over those long decades of music. :-)
This is real music, miss you Ricky rest in peace .
@@peterdaly4118 True.
Oh Yeh !!!
Saw them a couple of times and met them. Very down to earth and friendly, especially Rick and Rhino. Really wish I'd been there rocking when they performed this. Best gigs I ever went to
