Well, Northern ireland sure proove my point, As for the Falklands, I heard it was one of the first time the 5.56 enfield was used, with great versatility and success. (the bayonette stories) Another great point about the falkland islands was the Harrier. Which won all the air battles by agility and not toughness. As for SatantookOver, Peacekeeping missions is not war. Its about looking tough and not getting shot at. In that case a big gun like the FAL would be a weapon of choice.
@delzottoj When I said they didn't last very long I was referring to their life time as the standard issued service rifles in mass production of their own country, due to the rise of assault rifles. M14 was being replaced by M16 during late 60s(less than 10 years). There's a huge difference in number between being in service and being massively produced as the standard issued rifle.
They switched to 5.56 due to US pressure and ease of new trainees to shoot the round. During Nam the US switched to 5.56 but the rest of the world (minus the comm-block and revolution countries) stayed with 7.62X51 until the late 80's early 90's.
@Nicodemus98 the Australian L1A1 was full auto and Semi you just had to swing the safety right round when they were sold off they converted them back to semi only
@TheSpartanondrugs 5.56 is deadly, of course it is. Just lacks on power and mass comparing it with a .308. Of course lower mass means the bullet will make some dancing inside of you which could do some extra damage once in, but if you want to instantly incapacitate your target go with a .308 or higher cal.
@Nicodemus98 The kit I have has a matching numbers bolt and bolt carrier, the barrel is brand newI haven't checked for other individual proof marks, but I believe it all to be made by Rosario, ill have to double check. Not sure if Sarco has any of these left or not
That's unloaded though. A loaded 30 round M16 mag (5.56mm and aluminum) weighs 1lb. A loaded 20 round FAL mag (7.62mm and steel) is roughly twice that. FALs are heavy, but nothing a little extra PT can't handle.
@nowthisisstupid the .223 and the 5.56x45 are almost the same round. The 5.56x45 is an intermediate round meant for Assault rifles where as the 7.62x51 are not.
@Nicodemus98 no worries, I was being totally sarcastic in my earlier posts. In fact i'm doing an argy build as we speak, picked up one of the Sarco open earded kits from the fal files, very nice kits..
@Nicodemus98 they used the standard issue British one's first then changed the Barrel and added the Auto function latter but all that go released to the Public(here in Aus Pre 1996) where ether old semi auto's or changed back to semi's Do you have one of the Australian Target "SLR's" single shot only ;-)
@ComaradComisar 5.56 bounces around though, which I've heard is more deadly because it spreads the shrapnal. At least, according to weaponology. Is that true?
@MarksmanODST I like how you assume he's cod player who knows nothing about guns based on a true statement that you think is wrong. Battle rifles with full size cartridge has never been very controllable in full auto mode due to the recoil. That has been the case from FG42 of the nazi germany to fal and M14 of the cold war and to today's MK17 Scar H. It is one of the main reason why both FAL and M14 didn't last very long in the service.
@TheSpartanondrugs : Quite a few US rangers in Somalia would disagree with you on 5.56 over 7.62 as when shooting a skinny ( yes , a well aimed shot , the skinny was in the rangers' sights ) the guy just carried on , no hit and no blood ! The 5.56 does have the advantage of being lighter so you can carry more rounds . ( Don't take this as bad mouthing you , just my opinion of 7.62 over 5.56 ) .
@HeadshotArtist666 wtf, are you trying to tell me that an MP5 or M4 has greater range and penetration than a FAL? And you're trying to suggest I'M IGNORANT?
@Nicodemus98 You must have me confused with someone else, I dont play video games and I have extensive knowledge and use of firearms, especially the FN FAL, I own 8 of them so I'm just a wee bit familiar with them
@Nicodemus98 have a look here for more info militaryguns. /content/view/77/112/ and they come up for sale here now and then usedguns sorry i had to break the links so i could put them in
@vetrix uhoh guys, the youtube police have caught on to this little smack talking session and they are NOT amused apparently, (cops never have a sense of humor), we better all digress before someone tells mom and we all get in serious trouble
When was the last time Brazil EVER went to war? lol. Of course the 7.62x51 has great stopping power and its reliable, just like any 7.62x51. But then again if you're goal is a big ass gun with stoping power, go for a 7.62x54. You can take out hummvvs with that. Why do you think the british army don't use it anymore and switched to the 5.56 enfield. Because they are a TRAVELLING army. Only local wars will see such guns being useful. Wars where you dont run or assault but defend.
It is a fn heavy for a rifle. Looks like a good trench rifle. lol. Little out of date. Maybe still useful in Africa when you're enemy is hiding behind the elephant 1 km down the kubawa river. I don't see you or anybody in this vid holding this rifle all day after about 200 shots in your body. LOL. The aiming will get pretty sloppy, like omfg heads down hes passin out on full auto.

@XiaNingTian i think its because the semi auto is a civilian version used in brazil.
@Nicodemus98 The kit I have has a matching numbers bolt and bolt carrier, the barrel is brand newI haven't checked for other individual proof marks, but I believe it all to be made by Rosario, ill have to double check. Not sure if Sarco has any of these left or not

@vitorgaray 5.56 vs 7.62.. is not about liking it.. its about using 1 bullet to incapacitate your enemy, which .308 does real fine.
@Nicodemus98 no worries, I was being totally sarcastic in my earlier posts. In fact i'm doing an argy build as we speak, picked up one of the Sarco open earded kits from the fal files, very nice kits..
Apparently, if guns don't exist in the Call of duty games, then they don't exist at all.
that gun is just plain sexy
@nowthisisstupid The .30 Carbine is a pistol cartridge... And the .223 and 5.56x45 is not a rifle round it is an intermediate round.
@Nicodemus98 they used the standard issue British one's first then changed the Barrel and added the Auto function latter but all that go released to the Public(here in Aus Pre 1996) where ether old semi auto's or changed back to semi's
Do you have one of the Australian Target "SLR's" single shot only ;-)
no.. he took the fal apart and then sautered the wires together... duh
@ComaradComisar 5.56 bounces around though, which I've heard is more deadly because it spreads the shrapnal. At least, according to weaponology. Is that true?
@GPSaBu ah there's the answer, see was that so hard to explain? instead of just commenting and going?
thanks thanks.
well at least he doesnt have commando pro on
get yourself a 7.62 Bren Mag. that will fit and give you 30 rounds.
Why he wears a woodland camo helmet
@HeadshotArtist666
He either actually doesn't know anything, or he's purposely getting this attitude out of us.

i would take a dsa fal para over an M4 any day
@nowthisisstupid Hmm, then wouldn't the AR variant's technically be battle rifles then?
@Nicodemus98 You must have me confused with someone else, I dont play video games and I have extensive knowledge and use of firearms, especially the FN FAL, I own 8 of them so I'm just a wee bit familiar with them
nice rapid fire mod
@Nicodemus98 have a look here for more info

sorry i had to break the links so i could put them in
@juan9969 Why, it shoots a bigger bullet than the Ak
@juan9969 Why would you want to?
why the fuck did mw2 mess with this gun and made i semi only? give us the full auto version as well damn it
@vetrix uhoh guys, the youtube police have caught on to this little smack talking session and they are NOT amused apparently, (cops never have a sense of humor), we better all digress before someone tells mom and we all get in serious trouble
Are people actually talking about COD on this video?....
@nowthisisstupid Why are you guys comparing a rifle round to a intermediate round? that's like comparing a short short to a claymore.
Lets see you stand up and take the recoil of 20 7.62 rounds. :D
7.62 mm does the job anytime!
Its the official brazil's army rifle, i dont like it, i preffer the m4a1
@MarksmanODST I play CoD but I also fire guns in real life
FAL sucks on full-auto./.
shooting an auto .308 seems like it would just hurt haha i guess thats why its on a bipod on the ground haha

Ya for the Red Arm of Communism...
im 6 actually
@9FDproductions the real one fires on full auto stop with the gay cod comments
The FAL is weak and sucks compared to the MP5 or M4 with heat seaking bullets. Sincerely, the COD4 dolts
battle rifle
@nowthisisstupid God I am so confused.
@sourcemaster I wish you could spell. Also...it wouldn't do anything in Halo. Read the books, God.
@duanescot hey buddy this aint cod so leave it at home
FAL sucks on full-auto
@AccessDenied55 y
