At the beginning when you were talking about doing a T. stirmi and I was yelling "no do a communal" then you changed it and I was yelling even more! 😁😃 Quite the emotional Rollercoaster over here 😆 🤣 awesome build, and yes you represented the community well and did us proud! Dude, yours and Adam's are the best. The others don't utilize the available vertical space. In addition to your usage of vertical space, everything flows well and you can easily submerge yourself into its microhabitat. You and Adam all the way.
Great build, Richard! Your enclosure did a great job being cohesive while still feeling cozy. While it might have less greenery than some of the others, those anchor points will look amazing once a communal makes some web spires in there. Worried about slings being able to get through the mesh top, as well as tarsal claws catching, but that enclosure looks like it'd be simple enough to make a top panel from polycarbonate or acrylic. Definitely going in on that raffle. I would adore seeing hundreds of legs in that space.
I didn't really show the lid in the video and ended up cutting the part of me talking about this aspect bc the audio quality was so poor. But the gaps in the mesh top are large enough it would pose no threat of getting their tarsal stuck. But they are large enough for sling to squeeze through. But the enclosure also comes with an acrylic top or top made out of the renewable wood stuff the enclosure is made of that fits securely. So you can put that on top and drill holes if spiderlings ever show up.
I love the interview-style approach you did with yourself in these videos. Makes it look very professional.

I hope you were able to give some pointers to the other content creators as well as took some alongside with you. You are all so skilled and varied and I hope that the experience was as grand as the videos, all of them, imply.

I think watching Dáv Kaufman’s video on the build off was the first time I was made aware of your channel, and at the time I wasn’t even thinking about tarantulas, but I was very impressed with the enclosure you built. Very nice work.

Very cool job! BTW I’ve been using Biodude’s Sahara with my Ts for years. Never had a problem, and it works well to have the top dry while keeping a moister lower level.

I think you're idea is very clever as technically your enclosure isn't the finished article until you put the balfouris in. This allows the person who wins this to see the webbing process and progress. I think that this one will look the most awesome with time, patience and care that is put into looking after those tarantulas. I don't own tarantulas and watched a few of you tarantula RUclipsrs to dampen my arachnophobia (still don't like big spiders though as we don't get many in the UK till autumn) but I can watch these videos comfortably. Btw love Petko the skull 💀
Rewatching enclosure build videos for ideas. I hate these contests, the problem I have is when there are 10 awesome enclosures, someone has to come in last. If you took any of the last 3 enclosures, each would be a centerpiece in any zoo display.

Go on Amazon and get a life-size, anatomically correct skull, like the ones from doctors’ offices. They’re like $30 and you have to show them some TLC to get them to look right, but they look sick. Your contest entry looked sick too, by the way.
I got one of those too, but I couldn't fit it in my bag with the camera gear and clothes. If I'd driven instead of flown I could've brought it.
Your enclosure was my second place pic but it was close . Garden State Tortoise was my first pic and yours was second and Dav’s sadly was last in my opinion
Garden States was so cool. They would've been my favorite but Bill went Star Wars themed and I cant pass that up.

possibly when you are using the hot glue, but once it has cured it is fine. I use it alot with no issues

not related at al... but you need to allocate more bandwidth to your streams, as most of them are buffering due to you being popular, really frustraing for me and i guess alot of peeps outside the US........i know its not me as i have the highest speeds in europpe at 900mbps, hey soon to be upgraded to 1500...
Unfortunately I live in the Appalachian mountains. I'm giving it all I got.
But that is part of the reason I haven't been doing livestreams lately.
