My first hobby grade r/c was a Duratraxs it was a piece of crap I was 16 I got the original rustler when I was 19 I'm 40 now and it has a 3.3 traxxas engine and 2 speed jato transmission in it now

Nice Video, I love my nitro's but I dont have a rustler. I do have a recommendation, use losi 30% nitro fuel because it runs cleaner and cooler for all of my rc's. I subbed btw👍

I love nitro rustler very much.
Looks like it needs the low speed carb screw lean'd out a bit more. Smoking a little too much. It should have way more punch from a stop. My nitro stampede with the .15 trx will obliterate the tires from a dead stop. When it was new, it was factory set up for break in. I adjusted the high speed screw after break in , and it made a big difference up top, but i thought it was kinda doggy off the line. Then it hit me. lol I'd forgotten to adjust the low speed screw. I leaned it out in small increments, until it ran clean off the bottom, and WOW. A totally different machine after that. Roost machine. Couldn't keep the front end on the ground. Nice video work. 👍

What fuel did you start off running this? Guy at hobby shop sold me 33% with the car.

20% is more than enough for me and the only fuel that has been in this car with the best value in my opinion but if you want 33% than go for it!!:)

Hey, I just bought this thing had it running for a day now it won’t crank back up for me. What could be wrong change the glow palette
Probably too rich if a lot of smoke is coming out causing it not to start, so lean it off a bit(low speed needle) or glow plug could be fouled out and needs replacing.
Whats the name of the front plastic cover that covers the servos wrecked mine in front and rhe first 2 screw holes cracked
I'm not sure, if it is the big top plastic piece, then the upper chassis or top chassis I think lol.
What shocks would you recommend
@@MichaelClark-ot2uo I don’t really know honestly but if I had to say, probably the upgraded GTR shocks like on the Slash Ultimate, those would probably take a good beating!
You could lower it by trimming the spring

Just mainly bend the linkages like in the video and fine tune them and they should be fine. Never replaced the rotor either at the time of typing this.

I wonder if I'm the only person who put a traxxas 3.3 engine and the 2 speed transmission too a jato in a rustler it will melt the rear tires off if you want to
I might try that in the future sometime, I am gonna make a start up video in the next week or so.
@IngenTechNational yeah it's not too hard to do just make sure you change out the axels coming off the transmission and change the wheel bearings out to a better set
I've got a jato with a 4.2hp .30 size lrp race engine in it
If u hold it Abt 3/4 and get it to second go full throttle it picks the front wheels off the ground
I got it to 84mph on foam wheels and lowered shocks
For a bit of contrast the 3.3 has around 1.5hp

It’s a .21cc not a 2.5. The 2.5 is supposedly the horsepower of the motor not the displacement.

but all the top fuel 20 and 33 top fuel two but 10 top fuel has to come back.
Out of all the different brand nitros Traxxas's Is the worst runs bad bad ratios too much dye not lots of impurities

I kinda had a runaway my brakes needed adjusting but I said I would do it after I finished driving it and the brakes stop working while I was driving and the idle was high because i hadn’t tuned it yet I couldn’t get it it was so funny I was just chasing it and my mom was laughing 😂
