Have watched **many ** of your videos and they always make me smile because I always go, "oh, that's how" - they make sense and are easy to follow. You have a great gift of teaching.
PERFECTLY done! I get so tired of watching videos where I have to scroll to the part where they stop showing us how to get to the point of what we came to learn. Not only do you get right to the point you don't "um" and "uhhhh", your speech cadence is not too fast or slow, and you make it easy to understand. Thank you!!!! I've watched many Index/Match videos and yours is the best. New Subscriber now. 🙂
I’m taking an accelerated Excel summer class, using SIMnet. You explained this concept so well! So much more understandable than the text book!!! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for a brilliant tutorial. Been trying to get my head around the Index Match combo function and had a terrible time understanding it. Your tutorial straighten me out.
Fantastic tutorial. I'm intimidated by the Index and Match functions to apply it in the workplace to improve quality and efficiency, but this well presented and structured tutorial gives me ample motivation. WELL DONE !!
This is great. Can this be done in reverse? I mentioned an example in a comment in the "Create an excel macro" video about it but seems more appropriate for this video instead. So instead of finding out what values of sales, can you start with empty sale array so that one can fill in the sales values in the array by using the index and match (perhaps?) to populate the array with sales numbers....
Thankyou again. I am still not understanding why use Match/Index functions when XLookup exists. Maybe a video demonstrating the functions superseded by XLookup?
SIR FOR MATCH AND INDEX FUNCTION DOES It INVOLVE in any of the data entry form fill sources and can u teach me how to calculate rate in inventory or the formula for rate.and its awesome video of basic excel .
Quick Question, what is the advantage of grouping versus creating one worksheet and then copying it by right clicking the worksheet and creating a copy?
Hello. First of all I just want to say your concept and way of explanation is amazing and thank you for the effort you are making to teach us. :) Next thing is, I am getting N/A as a result when I shouldn`t be. I chose small searching area in table so I could be sure the requested value is in selected array and I chose 0 match type. After ENTER, EXCEL returns N/A. What are the possible scenarios that could cause this? Is it possible this is my mistake?
There's one more trick that would have put the cherry on (if it was in Excel then?): Setting validation to only allow values from an array on the two input cells in column j.
I wish you would go further to show example of how to use these functions in real life with thousands of rows of data. I cannot imagine using this formulas the way you showed in real life.
Would you be able to share a sample formula with Excel/Match for below example ( One to Many) ? Lets say my Contact Sheet has over 10 Columns but I only would like to return the 4 Columns (Contact Name, Title, Cell # and Email address.) for all contacts within a company. Can you suggest a index match formula please? I would appreciate it. Also is it possible that one can edit/update the a.m 4 contact values right from there?
How Can i open new sheet by typing any cell...? For example.. i want to i have a sheet of costumer name and address ext ext... Now how can i open my costumer's month sales detail i putted on another sheet... Can i open his sales detail by clicking his name cell

Forgot to mention, the value I searched was a text so I used quotes regularly.
This is excellent
There's one more trick that would have put the cherry on (if it was in Excel then?): Setting validation to only allow values from an array on the two input cells in column j.
I also want to know can we add 2 formulas i 1cell or colume ?
If yes.
So how can we do that?
I wish you would go further to show example of how to use these functions in real life with thousands of rows of data. I cannot imagine using this formulas the way you showed in real life.
Great but why are some data giving wrong answers yet the selected array has the answer on all vloolup, xlookup and index and match?
to make it more interesting put a drop down list on month and category to avoid typing everytime u want a new month or category
Dear Sir,tq for info, but i need , how to sum multiple columns at the same time, please send me
Couls this be achieved with Xlookup?
yes
Thank you! (:
Can you please tell me what's the use of vlookup and hlookup??
Can you filter product category and month ?
Can you please tell me formula for minus one cell to other cell
