It truly is beautiful back there. It would be interesting to see if there are any surviving pictures of the town from when it was still there.

Being a resort for rich people back during that time it’s hard to believe that there wouldn’t be any photos of people and families posing in front of one of the 2 hotels that were there, by the 1880s and 1890s photos were pretty good by then.

I remember Hurricane Agnes. I lived in Memphis, and we had astonishing rain, which I remember walking through. We lived in Nashville until I was 5, and we had a creek like that going right through our front yard. It had a big snapping turtle, and we had pet ducks. It flooded once.

I think, at 22:39, there's a copperhead lounging out by the edge of that cut-out area that you didn't notice. Kinda hard to get focused on it because you swing past it pretty quickly.

I bet that place was grand back in the day. I could see the women sitting around the water while their husbands were up at the hotel, probably playing cards. I would love to be there in person. Maybe some day my wish will come true. Great video as always.❤

Cool, there was a flyer that sounded about the same near my property. It was a 3 wheel frame with seat. Above was a glider/parachute attached with rope or wire. There was an enclosed/caged fan/propeller driven by a gasoline motor and a pilot with a helmet. Looked like it was following 422 East then West. I think a spring like that can have healing powers but the healing may be more imagined then actual.😀

Nice video I've learned a lot from you and I've watched most of your videos in this area I've been here several times I actually led a small group of people back here I ordered and got the book for Cold springs. I started my own RUclips channel around March I guess mostly just shorts I can't get people to watch longer videos but it's got bigger than I thought it would get. I love all the mushrooms I might have to come up there and check it out. I also live in Berks County we walk over the same trails quite a bit Good job. You have inspired me to start my own RUclips channel yours truely slowhikerdave

When you say no metal detecting, because of state grounds, well guess what? No magnet fishing as well. If you even visually find something (Relic) on the ground, you cannot take it out of the park. So, keep that in mind.
