- 📍 Some Clarification:
😵💫Carbon Dioxide and Methane is a pollutant or not?
It's a disputed concept.
As per AQI CO2 and Methane is not a pollutant.
But many of the books consider it as a pollutant.
As of now upsc have asked
only once about CO2 as a pollutant or not in 2014.
And UPSC considers it as a pollutant.
Conclusion:
In general they won't ask you about it.
But if they specify AQI or NAAQS, you should not consider CO2 and CH4 as a pollutant.
However, in a general sense.
If the question is about a particular Industry.
Then consider it as a pollutant.
