Great work, you are doing so well. Everything is really coming together. Sorry to hear about the fires, I hope the families will be OK going forward. 🙏
Awwww Bless you 3 well done on Breakfast Bar, So sad on them Bardges blimey pore People :( Till next week take care look forward to your next Vlog my best David :)
Just LOVE your new breakfast bar! Things are slowly taking shape, and you should both be so proud of your accomplishments thus far 👍🏻👍🏻 So sad to hear of the fire that took 3 Narrowboats and damaged a fourth. I hope that the owners had some sort of Insurance to help cover the loss. I’m glad nobody was hurt though. Little Sage is such a sweetie, and she’s so good, bless her! I hope that you have a great week ahead. Looking forward to your next video. Take care, 💕🇨🇦
Well done on the clean up effort, new floor and the breakfast bar - it turned out great! So sorry to see the destruction to the other boats - that must have been very scary for everyone in the marina.
Hi! Just a thought, re the breakfast bar, it might be a good idea to round the corners off for safety and a certain young lady as she grows taller will have a possibility of bumping her head on a sharp corner, regards Mike
Just found your channel today so watched all vblogs now up to date you have a pretty much a blank canvas yes you have some problems but you are managing to solve them well done looking forward to watching more good luck
Enjoying watching your progress. You maybe should have sanded your worktop and applied hard wax oils. But it looks great. So sad about the boats and fire people losing their homes is awful but glad no one was hurt. Can’t wait to see more. Well done keep it up 😀😀
Thanks for the tip. We did Sand them but ended up using a clear varnish as we wanted to keep the colour as natural as possible. Does hard wax change the colour much because we will keep that in mind for the next item.
@@TheCanalBoatFamily hi. It brings out the natural look of the wood. I work for a wood firm that make worktops. If you tell me the address of the marina I can see if I can send you a small pot. You don’t need much.
did you say work tops are glued down :? if so inserting a saw between top and base unit and saw through the glue ,or very carefully prise top off using a chisel very slowly ,,i did see a saw you could use,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,cable to short put cable extension on it ? well you did use a chisel to remove tops lol ,oh and you can get thinner work tops ,you got a thick top and get some child protection covers for the corner ,believe me they work ,i got them on most sharp corners ,,saves some nasty accidents even with adults,,,, fires on boats ,something not done on canal boats is fire walls and fire doors ,ie each section if divided off would become a firewall, would need to last about 30 mins and doors , go out close all internal doors
So much helpful information, thank you! When we come to doing the other side we will try the saw thing. We talked about the fire wall option before building the wall actually but decided against it so Sage had her room, perhaps something to invest in down the line.
Fablous job. Well done
I love watching your videos each week! So sad about the boat fires, but I'm so glad no one was hurt.
So sad but yeah really glad no one was hurt! Thanks for watching Eleanor!

For soaking up oil and bilge waste most recommended method is Disposable Nappies, cheap and easily disposed of safely.
Such great advice! Someone mentioned this last week and it has been amazing

Hi Claire, yeah it took everyone in the marina a few days to snap out of. Very scary indeed.

Yes indeed. Chrissy mentions it in the video and it is on the list of jobs. Thanks Mike!

Wow Kevin, all in one day. That is some serious commitment, thanks so much!!
Puppy pads are great to mop up oil or babies disposable nappies.

Hey Marianne, that's so kind of you! If you email thecanalboatfamily@gmail.com I can send you our address. xx
The fires are so sad. 😢😢😢😢
1975 was when the wiring colours changed afaicr :) So as you say quite recently ;)
Ha wow! Shows how many dodgy rentals we have lived in over the years!
Puppy training pads are good for soaking up your excess water/oil and not too expensive
A friend said this to me today!! Genius idea, they are on the list. Thank you!!
People use nappies to mop up anything like that, just leave them in for a bit and they should soke it up.
Oo good shout Phil, will do that next time. Someone else mentioned puppy pads which we are going to try as well
Always wear safety glasses when using power tools you only have one pair of eyes

You need to change that kitchen
Don't we know it! We have a very long list and it is nowhere near the top though
Do not glue your worktops down
