I love how the platforms are kitty-cornered. Makes for good footage.

Correction: There are two diesels that do operate on the Harlem Line on Saturdays and Sundays: 1 Southbound in the morning and 1 Northbound in the evening.

    I've seen 2 NH diesels; 229 and 230

    1. I thought the P32s are used to go all the way to Poughkeepsie, and the M7As are what only go to Croton-Harmon.
    2. Where's big Butt Bear?

M7s are used on the Harlem and lirr uses them and diesels go on the Hudson line and sometimes also go on the Harlem line like if u watch his mount kisko video.

+hawshpaw27 On the weekends, sometimes the MTA will provide P32 Diesel service only up to Croton-Harmon on Sundays to get ready for the big communte on Mondays so that there will be extra trains from Croton to Grand Central. I guess north of Croton isn't as busy I guess. But I actually forgot to bring Big Butt Bear on this trip Sorry about that.

+Amtrak Enthusiast Correct. The Harlem Line actually runs 8 diesels a day on the week days (4 Southbound from Wassaic To Grand Central in the morning rush hour and 4 Northbound from Grand Central to Wassaic in the evening rush hour). And on Saturday and Sunday, The Harlem Line will operate 1 diesel train departing Grand Central at 5:17PM from Grand Central To Wassaic with more stops than the normal Wassaic weekday trains but no stops between Harlem 125th Street and White Plains. The Danbury Branch actually does run 8 Diesel trains during the weekdays as well (From Danbury To Grand Central during the morning rush hour and from Grand Central To Danbury during the evening rush hour). But the difference is on the weekends. On Saturdays and Sundays there is no direct service from Grand Central to Danbury. So P32 Genesis trains will not operate on the New Haven line on Saturdays and Sundays. The direct service diesel trains to and from Danbury only operate Monday - Friday. While on the Harlem Line, at least 1 diesel train is used everyday. But obviously the diesels get used the most on the Hudson Line since that is the only train line on the Metro North Railroad with full railroad service with non electrified track north of Croton.

+Fantech0104 On the weekends, why does the Harlem line operate a diesel in the afternoon but not in the morning?

+hawshpaw27 I honestly don't know that part. I personally believe that there should be two direct diesel trains (1 From Wassaic To Grand Central and 1 from Grand Central To Wassaic). My guess is that there are only two diesels at the Wassaic yard after the Friday rush hour so by the time the Monday rush comes, there would be four diesels to head south to Grand Central since one would go up to Wassaic on Saturday and one would go up to Wassaic on Sunday. That would make sense. But I honestly don't know.
