Awesome Amtrak and Metro North Dean catches 9:11 My Favorite Shoreliner 4 Cab Car 6221 the last survivor CDOT Shoreliner 4 Cab Car I really miss her sister 6222 everytime I see 6221 it reminds me of 6222s tragedy but it’s worth seeing 6221 whether she’s trailing or leading a Metro North train or mixed in a consist anyway looks like y’all had fun out there three Metro North Cab Cars have E bells 6107, 6129, & 6113 as well 3 P32s 206, 220, & 226 Metro Norths Cab Cars that have been refurbished are 6304, 6307, 6317, & 6318. Welcome to my side of Metro North also if you plan another trip soon I’d cut out the M7s they’re pieces of shit as for the New Haven Units they must have been in Croton Harmon Yard or Grand Central’s storage yard or have been assigned to Metro North trains 3809 which runs in the morning from Danbury to NYG & 3840 which runs from NYG to Danbury
The black railings are the third rail. Electrified at 750V DC, they allow for trains to operate on electric power instead of their prime mover. Most of the locomotives you're seeing are dual mode, basically diesels wirh third rail shoes so they can run on electric in New York City which banned diesels and steam in their terminals. MTA does own the line, otherwise there wouldn't be third rail.
Lots of trains! Gotta love the horn at 2:10
The train drivers are all super friendly with the horn. Also nice video.
Thanks!
Railfan Cold Springs, it's a good spot. Nice catches.
The P32AC-DM is one of my favorite locomotives
Yeah there engines are too loud if you walking to grand central in tunnel you will hear it
Nice video, Ardsley is a good spot!
Thanks Lance! It is!
At 7:21 a Metro - North train played jingle bells with the horn.
You railfanned at ardsley-on-Hudson?!?! I was there!
I like your intro it's really awesome
Please, I beg of you, do more metro north! This was filmed very nicely, 100% rating!
I will eventually, Metro North is just a railroad that can get boring easily though, not much variety
@@njaviation03andrailfanning LIRR then?
@@youminholastransit3218 I have an LIRR vid already filmed, coming soon
@@njaviation03andrailfanning nice!

My favorite is CDOT cab car 6215 with its EMD steel bell, the only one that has it, I saw it yesterday
👍🏼
Thanks Kirk! I like the cabs on MN!
@@njaviation03andrailfanning which ones specifically my favorites are the Shoreliner 3s & 4s and the Comet 2s
6222 has been involved in the 2013 Spyuten Duyvil derailment
Double P32 Phase IIIB Idk if I seen one
I find it funny how Amtrak and MNR uses similar locomotives
great video
Thanks!
This is your second time railfanning with Amtrak
They don’t seem to like giving horn shows to
old people 😀😀
The best tip I have for getting horns is waving at the engineer, if you don’t already.
@@nerailvideos I do that but it doesn’t always work depends on the individual. Some engineers couldn’t be bothered with railfans
291 is not Empire Service, it’s Ethan Allen Express
During Covid, it’s running as a Empire Service, it’s not going past Albany.
Do you what those black railings by the tracks
Also who owns this line MTA??
