  • This pond was created in the 1940s after a mining stint on Mount Sicker reopened the Twin J Mines. The pond has been mostly empty since the early 2000s and completely emptied a few years ago after a forest fire line was cut through the remaining damn emptying it. Recent PH testing has shown no acid mine drainage at the outflow. The pond is now clay which contains values in copper, silver, gold and especially zinc. This is due to poor recovery rates in the 1940's.

    If only that was like the legendary blue clay from the Comstock lode!

    in my acid rock drainage class we were doing some field work in a tailings pond that was actively precipitating new sulfide minerals due to the pH.

    Somebody should a test on that material for pottery, see how it fires. What qualities and colors it may show.

    Gold has become like wine. A day must come when we wake up from it📜

      Gold has become the forgotten wine, we must find more so we don't become a slave to fiat.

      What do you think of a new invention to extract gold from 4 tons of well-ground stones in just 4 seconds. Do you want this deal

      This may be fiction, but believe it or not, invention is real because science is not stopped by the impossible

    Is this a problem?
    Or just another opportunity?

    • @911mining
      @911mining  7 месяцев назад +2

      Could be both, there's likley good zinc and copper with gold and silver in the old pond but also could be an issue to remove if not done properly.

      @@911mining I figure if there are values in it, its probably leached into a solute type form that can be separated with activated carbon, or in a near emulsion level particle size such that it might be able to be gravity separated.
      The blue clay, from how it appears, looks like it might have value by the ton, to the ceramics industry.
      Where I live one of the 'tailings' is clay, but instead of having to push it around, or pack it back down, or pay to dispose of it, I can sell it, and others will therein pay to take it off my hands.

      Who new a tailings pond could look so good. There will be zinc, copper, silver, gold in the clay from poor recovery in the 1940s
