How to reset msconfig? After these steps I got my new Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop very slow when logging into Windows.
The startup speed has not changed, but now after I enter the password to log into the account... the account itself freezes and takes about 8-14 seconds to load. This didn't happen before.
I returned all the settings to their original position and enabled all services but this did not help.
DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU HAVE A GAMING PC YOU USE FOR GAMING. This will ruin your computer. This "FIX" cuts your cores and processor in half or less!!! (I don't need to explain why that is a bad idea) THIS IS NOT A FIX! I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A FIX!!!! THIS WILL RUIN YOUR COMPUTER. The positive comments in here are most likely bots too!
my laptop runs on i3 7th Gen with 128gb of NVME SSD and the system works fine, there's no lag or slow response. My only problem is the start up time which takes up to 5mins more or less. I've done everything you tube showed me and this thing still runs slow
ithink u need to reinstall the windows on the SSD maybe there is courppet files

Turning off all none Microsoft services does not only didn't speed up boot times, a shut down of Windows in Lockscreen results into a blue screen and entered automatic repair (it almost corrupted itself)👎
did you check the hide all ms services?
I got the same thing.. pci.sys failed…took me two days to repair. Dont recommend!!

my tuf f15 took 4 mins 30ish seconds. after this it takes only 8-9 seconds thanks a bunch mate
dont follow the "msconfig" setting. keep the "number of processors" unchecked. it greatly reduces gaming performance. atleast thats what happend to me. other steps are alright

msconfig it can cause OS crash ,just change the power button setting to fast startup and it will solve your problem .

my brand new m2 drive i mirrored from my sata ssd, and i went form about 1 min bootup to 4min bootup. the games i play now on my c: are much faster but that load up time is incredibly painful. already did most of these except the processors setting to 4 (i have 16), but didnt make difference.
Made the changes in the video, especially the startup config and disabling all the services that i thought i already disabled in task manager startup, there's programs launching services that i havent used in years.
(i have 3 additional internal hard drives as well which im aware will slow things down) but my improvement was cut down in half!!!
I am down to 2 minutes startup!

if you change the number of processors in the advanced boot options, then your cpu will be capped at the number you put in. so if you put in 2, then your computer can only user 2 cores. so don't do it

using 2 cores or 4 make 2 or 2 cores enabled in windows, drop performance, i have 20 cores and i chose 20. If chose 4 system runs with 4. I have newest windows 11. Sorry for bad english

NO Don't use an SSD ! Worst thing you can do as a Windows user. SSD's are Too fast. You won't be able to tell if you are getting slowdowns from unwanted bloatware and unnecessary updates Microcrap likes to push on people. Microcrap can sneak anything onto your system and you would never have an indication of it. Only use an SSD with Windows if you use something like AME Wizard to Remove the Windows Updates feature. Otherwise, use Linux.
i have 1TB HDD. my i7 8GB RAM laptop was so slow. started deleting all the bloatware and now is fast as hell

This advice is BS I reported the video and hopefully youtube takes it down. Make sure you revert your setting back to its default as this "fix" only cuts your CPU cores and processors down in half. All the positive comments not this video are bots.
