This era of Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit was just insane. They knew how to break artist more than any label since. Look at the production on this album. Just incredible.

one of the BEST west coast albums of all time!! dawg I was in my freshman yr at Centennial high school in Compton when this shit dropped I remember vividly how Game was connected to the streets every nigga in the city was bumping this gem! 🔥🔥🔥♻️
@@neighborhoodka yessir he was a senior my freshmen yr of 2004.. my older homies was close with him since they were all in the same graduation class but yeah definitely went to middle school & high school with bro lol facts.
This album was so anticipated in Southern Cali. Obviously a lot of rap fans were looking forward to the album but in SoCal we were just so excited for a "new gen" West Coast rapper and protégé of Dr. Dre to show us what the sound was gonna evolve into next. Especially after 50 Cent, we were all like this is gonna be the West Coast GRODT. This album always transports me back to HS
I’m so glad your back to listening/reacting to aftermath, shady,g unit stuff as it’s my favourite era of hip hop.fif, the game, banks, buck, obie,em all put out classic albums around this time.
I don't think I've laughed this much to any of your videos. That Joe Head story had me rollin and finding out Rod Sr. Has a doppelganger out in the streets had me rollin 😂😂
The Game has a great discography I fell in love with his voice first as a francophone african then i learned english and he is also a great storyteller
Naw they heard that track from dre and they both starting spitting . The rest is history. If 50 gave him that song, why didn’t he give it to the other members? The Game and 50 just had the best chemistry
@@kxnzo1089 I think so, I personally like The Doctors Advocate slightly better but this one only has like 2 songs I would skip( the one ft yayo and the one with Mary j.)
Actually you've heard Hi-Tek on... the G-Unit album! He was close to the Shady Aftermath G Unit crew at that time, but it made me think that Dad should react to the classic Train Of Though by Reflection Eternal, you gon hear plenty of amazing Hi tek in there!
Fun Fact: when recently interviewed, Hi-Tek said this was his least favorite beat he made (Runnin') because he didnt get a chance to finish it. Dre said it was perfect already😂 but everyone tells him its one of rheir favorites.
this was awesome man, this is one of me and my dads favorite albums/ rapper, no other album reminds me more of him. I’m loving your content man take care
27:56 heres my bridging the gap moment, my uncle stinnett had just came from Atlanta to visit my dad and he was playing this song during the bbq and me & him were rapping this word for word “church for thugs” was our bonding moment and it was ❤. He passed away in 2010 and everytime his birthday comes around, have this song on repeat RIP Uncle Stinnett
Yo pops be having funny one-liners 🤣🤣 “they stole your bike too?” Hahaha “JOE HEAAAAD” 🤣🤣 Would be siiiick to get a highlight reel of dope/funny moments from all the videos you guys have done!
Great reaction. Not only a classic West Coast album, it's a classic Hip-Hop album for sure. Pops also must know that in 2001 he was shot while in a trap house and after calling 911 he slipped into a coma for 2 days. Ten years later he faked being in a coma to promote his 4th album. He and 50 Cent along with their respective crews got into a now infamous shootout in 2005 in front of the iconic Hot 97 radio station in New York after he was kicked out of G-Unit. One of The Game's friends was the only one shot. After that he destroyed the whole G-Unit with his G-U-not mixtape campaign. Game went on to have a pretty good career with three No. 1 albums and eight No. 1 albums on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts. One of the most slept on MCs in Hip-Hop. He also put on Nipsey Hussle which was somewhat unheard of at the time because they were from rival gangs and fellow Compton native, Kendrick Lamar.
Brrrooooo just found you … watched you and your pops listening to get rich or die trying … and I was like let’s see what else these guys checking out….. and shittttt another CLASSSIC album man no matter what you think about game or 50 at this time in the early 2000’s these boys had smash after smash come out …. Kanyes production on this just reminded me that he done some work with D12, I’d love to see Sr’s reaction to songs like American Psycho and My Band haha!
I really love your content, please dont rush the song-by-song reaction from dad, I understand with long albums like this it is hard to keep with the rythm but I'm always a bit frustrated when dad just get to say 'good song' and 'next track'.
Name dropping is his thing. It's sort of his way of using metaphors which imo is fucking genius because you can name drop so many people/things as a reference.
This era of Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit was just insane. They knew how to break artist more than any label since. Look at the production on this album. Just incredible.
I mean this album had people like havoc, kanye, and Timbaland producing songs
They only had 50 and Game lol aftermath was a bit of a let down for artist tbh

Doctors Advocate is his best album, way better than The Documentary IMO. Plus he did it without Dre and G-Unit, proving he can hold his own.
