Did the company go out of business and was taken over by another entity and is not really doing business in the United States.
hey whats up? great video. i wanted to try out fade in and final draft for wrting my screenplays. im not new to writing but im pretty new to these platforms. i had a specific question. now when you first write a storryline , you also write character definition/descriptions for each character. where in fade in do i do that? please help. thank you in advance.
There is not an official section to do that in Fade In. You could create a note when you first introduce the character which could have this information in it. If you would like to do that go to Document and then scroll down to note and insert one that way. I hope that answers your question. If not let me know. Happy writing. On a side note I would use something like Casuality if you want an outlier/ research feature. Some other screenwriting programs that have this type of feature would be Scrivener, Kit Scenarist (free) and Script Studio.

@@ScreenwritingScribe Excellent video. The company seems to be taking payments, cashing payments but not recognizing the payments. They claim that there is company called "Fade In" with a space between the words - and a company called "Fadein" with no space between the words and they are not doing anything to deal with the discrepancy but leaving it completely up to the customer to resolve the problem. Many of the reviews for the product seem to be made up - they could be written by a bot of some kind. There must be many people who have paid for it and been scammed.
Sorry for the delay, I answered the question in my head but forgot to write it on the thread. I talked to the developer and he said there wasn't a way to enlarge the toolbar, other than trying to enlarge stuff using your own computer system setting, for menus and stuff.
Two questions for you, please: FYI - I'm using a pc, not a Mac. 1. The index cards only show one after another in a column, not in a matrix like on your screen. How do I create the matrix view? 2. Is there a way to print the Navigator view - like an outline - vs the entire script? Thanks much!
Will look into it. I am thinking that at least on the Mac you don't have a lot of customization with the index cards so I don't think there is one for PC. I will talk to the designer and see if there is anything I am missing
I talked to the creator and this is what he told me. Index cards can be reduced in size (right-click, or use the zoom option) to show more on-screen/across a line. In terms of printing the navigator window, one thing you can do is generate a report of the type you’d like under Production > Reports (such as a Scene report, etc.)
Hi. Good video. I have a doubt about double dialogue. In Spain we do not use Letter format, we use A4 format. My script is full of double dialogue. The problem is that when doing double dialog, Fade In takes the left dialog out of the margin. Is there any specific way to configure the format of double dialogs without breaking the general dialog settings?
Could you send me a screenshot? I am talking to the developer about it and he wanted to know if you had a screenshot. email:coachingforthescreen@gmail.com
Do you need to click character everytime you need to enter a character's name? This seem very clumsy. I hate Final Draft for how buggy it is, but it is rather intuitive to just hit ENTER and then C to navigate to a character name.
Nope, I hit tab and that brought up the list of characters. I will put a short video out about it tomorrow. What kind of bug issues are you encountering with Final Draft?
I would say it is the middle of the pack in terms of ease of use. There is some software like studio binder which is very easy to use. However, it isn't as powerful in terms of other features especially in terms of rewriting. Unfortunately Fade In doesn't have an affiliate program, so "no" I am not compensated. That is okay though, I do the channel to help people out. If I can make some money from time to time that would be good, but it is not my primary reason.
When editing a saved script, such as adding Dialogue or Action, it will add a secondary page if it goes past the number of lines on the existing page. It won't move all the content to a next existing pages. For example, adding something to page 5 that doesn't fit will create a page 5A. A huge blank space will appear before Page 6 that cannot be removed by anything I can find. So, when you don't want to create a REVISION, but just add something to the existing version, how do you prevent secondary pages from being created? How do you remove all of this empty space? (Delete and backspace and Cut does nothing) Doing it to a revision does the same thing. Help and FAQ and Knowledge Base offers no help.
FOUND IT! Saw it in Moviola channel Guide Part 2. Production>Unlock Page Numbers. Keeps from adding a 1A or 2A etc when editing the overall script. It will remove it if you've left it locked and added a 5A by accident.
@@imperatorkosmosu No you don't have to add a watermark. Some people want to do it because they feel better protected as a creator to do it. I will do a short video on how to do it. so stay tuned for that.
Hi friend, thanks for the explanatory information. There are a few questions I want to ask. It's about both the program and the script writing. 1- Can you make a video from scratch explaining the purpose of page colors? It seems confusing to me. So, if the purpose of the colors is not mandatory, there is no problem. 2- Can you give feedback lessons when a mistake is made? 3- How many people can use the program. 4- Do the updates affect the written script? Thank you in advance for all your answers.
Hi Sorry for the long delay. I first want to give you the answer to your question about menu sizes. the Developer said the only way to change menu sizes is by going into the operating system Windows Ten and changes the menu sizes for that. Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do in program.
Page colors, I believe more has to do with different versions of the script. An example of having multiple versions would be if you want to add a scene and see how it affects your script. You can add the scene and make that version red. If you don't like how it works you could go back to the other version. You don't have to use them.
Question 2: Could you explain a little more by what you mean? I am always around to help with software questions. As for helping with a specific script, I tend not too because of the time commitment which would cause me to have to charge people for help. I am also happy to point you to resources.
