I just found your channel while researching this binocular. I almost laughed out loud at how passionate you are about them! I just ordered a pair as a Christmas present for my son. I think the size, weight, and 8X will be great for him at 9yrs old, and the quality will be high enough he won't outgrow them. They should still be very useful even when he owns bigger glass someday.
If you read about what to look for in binoculars they often say that "HD" is a marketing thing and should be ignored. Be that as it may I was looking for a pair of binoculars to keep in the car. After reading some reviews I got these 8 X 32s and have been happy with them. Images don't pop like my Leicas but I think are very good.
Nice to see you’re not a glass snob. I appreciate high end glass as well as budget friendly glass. They’re tools and each has there place. Btw, just finished your latest EDC podcast. Audio quality is fantastic with your new set up! Thanks for all you do.
Thanks! Yeah love these little binos! Also really enjoying the new recording equipment, glad it sounds good. I have made a few changes to get rid of some of the p, b, t pops. So it's getting even better.
So here is my review on the Vortex 8x42 HD Diamondbacks, and I care to share that with you! The actual contrast is flatter on the Diamondbacks when compared to my Zeiss Victory 8x20 compacts, and on a grey day the Ziess have more sparkle and contrast by at least %10! But,,,,,, when the sun is shining at its peak or under snow conditions with a bright sun, I find the Vortex has a more beautiful look without blowing out any highlights for lower contrast glass! The colors pop more to my taste on the Vortex when the sun is out, especially yellows and greens, and even blues. So, the Zeiss Victory scores higher on sharpness, and contrast,,,,,, but on colors and harsh lighting conditions, I have to hand the more beautiful colors and smooth image over to my new Diamondbacks from Vortex! (I did have to tighten the focus knob just one time by popping of the knob cover, as it had a tiny dead zone out of the box, but that was very easy to fix and adjust, and so far, love these binoculars)
Good afternoon. Thanks for the video. Could you tell me which is the best binocular 8x30 (less than 200 dollars) that is suitable for use with glasses? are these better than the nikon p7 8x30? Thank you
I can not say what's best and I have not thoroughly tested them all. But I think for 200 bucks the votex diamond back HD is probably right at the top if not the top.
Your review tempted me to buy the 8x32 over the 10x28. I was originally looking at 10x25 sized binos or the Vortex Solo monocular for travel. We are mostly going to use them during day hikes and wildlife spotting in national parks. I felt like the 8x32 was a good compromise that would travel well as we do carry on only when traveling abroad.
I picked up a pair of 10 × 32 Vortex HD for my treestand backpack after your last Vortex bino review video. I love the new HD bino`s and wanted a smaller and lighter bino than my 10 × 40 Nikon's. Like always lots of good honest info in your review videos

I have not tried the sightons. But I loved the diamond back hd 8x32 impressed me so much I bought them! The original non HD 8x32 were good and I reviewed them too. But the HD are amazing!
If you like these you should try the GPO Passion ED 8x32 much much better and can find for around $350-$400. I have the diamondback hd 8x32 and agree they are decent but the GPOs absolutely blow them away for not that much more money..
I got the crossfires and I love them. But I just had them fog up on me for the first time and it kinda threw me off? Any suggestions to get this to stop
Could send thwm to vortex to make sure they are still purged and sealed. But on thw same note I have had a couple times where even my swarvos have fogged on me for a couple mins. Never paid enough attention to the exact situation that caused it but sometimes I happens.
Great video! I’ve been looking at these vs the 8x42 for better light transmission but they do seem bigger. Do you think the larger objective is worth the extra size for whitetail hunting?
Depends on your needs. If sitting in a tree stand and using alot in low light the 8x42. If going to use them hiking and around your neck alot and mainly during daylight then the 32s.
It would be primarily for hunting. Is there that much weight difference between the two? I am a smaller guy and have a decent amount to pack in already.
@@barrylafever it's a pretty noticeable size and weight difference when you wear them. The 32s might be better. I can't remeber the last time I carried my 42s. I use the 32s all the time
Depends on what you are using them for. Cant go wrong with either. Here is my 2 cents. If I was only going to have one pair id go 8x42. if i was going to use them in low light alot id go 8x42. if iwas going to use them to scan for game in open country id go 8x42. Any optic that catches rays from the sun will get glare. I fight it or use it with my cameras all the time. Doesn't matter if it's a 100 dollar lens or a 5000 dollar lens glare is gonna happen.
@@SamkoTradBow Thanks for the reply. I just went outside with my cheap Celestron Cometron 7x50's to double check my memory. I’m looking for a good all around binocular for what I need, Looking for light weight clear and really good light gathering for in the swamps and pines. It’s time to replace my 15+ year old binoculars.
I would make sure to get the HD in either as the HD is a great improvement. Cant go wrong with either. I choose the 8x32 for all my pig hunting as they are lighter on the neck and more out of the way. They still see better than my eyes can in low light but the 8x42 will be better light gathering.

@jarrahfitzgerald2752 with the coatings today a 32 can still see better in low light that our eyes can. So me personally I'd rather save the weight and bulk and go 8x32

I live in Coastal South Carolina and hunt hogs and deer from tree stand , run and gun and spot and stalk 99% bow hunting .In your opinion would these Diamondback 8x32 HD or would the 8x42 be a better option? I’m looking for a good all around binocular for what I need, Looking for light weight clear and really good light gathering for in the swamps and pines. It’s time to replace my 15+ year old binoculars.
I would make sure to get the HD in either as the HD is a great improvement. Cant go wrong with either. I choose the 8x32 for all my pig hunting as they are lighter on the neck and more out of the way. They still see better than my eyes can in low light but the 8x42 will be better light gathering.
Thanks for the reply!! I’ll be ordering the Diamondback 8x32 HD . The lightweight and 8x I think are perfect for down here and I do more spot and stalk then stand hunting. Thanks for the great videos and have a great season and stay safe!
@@BowHunter74 you will love them! Happy hunting and stay safe as well!
@@SamkoTradBowhow's the viewing angles/sweet spot between the 32s and 42s? Obviously larger is easier but is there much in it? Trying to decide between the two sizes in 8x but can't try them anywhere beforehand
@jarrahfitzgerald2752 with the coatings today a 32 can still see better in low light that our eyes can. So me personally I'd rather save the weight and bulk and go 8x32
The Diamondbacks Hd 10x32 are $109 at Sierra trading post right now
Great price! Thanks for mentioning!
I can’t decide on the 8x32 or 8x42…
Both are great. I like the 8x32 best personally for size
@@SamkoTradBow I’m leaning towards the 8x32s. I have 10x50s so I think 8x32, the wide field of view and light weight would be great!
@@scupking agree. Especially if you already have 10x50s
Cute shirt
Thanks. I made it and sell it on tbwpodcast.com

How does it compare to Maven?
Thanks for your review. I actually purchase the diamondback HD 8X32 after watching your review of the non HD. They are juste amasing. It would be really cool if you could compare yhem to your swaro 7X30.
Thanks.
I have used them side by side a few times. The vortex are fantastic and I love them. However they are not even in the same time zone as the swarvos. Even my 15 year old swarvos for that matter. But again look at the cost factor. I sure do love those little vortex and also love the dirt cheap price. I can beat the crap out of them, not worry about them and if i damage them buy new ones for the same cost a night out with dinner and drinks with friends. Can't beat that!
Traditional Bowhunting And Wilderness Podcast yep 👍 I do agree with you. They are fare from being the best binos out there, but they are surly in my opinion the best bang for the bucks. I do also have a pair of vortex Viper 10x50 hd for the ducks 🦆 night hunting. I am really pleased with them. In regardes of the 8X32, I don’t baby 🍼 them of course, but I try not to break them. Even if the Vortex VIP Warenty pretty much got us covered for life. I just trie to take care of my stuff as the take care of me 😅.
Traditional Bowhunting And Wilderness Podcast thanks for your answers. I might one day invest one a good Swarovski binos.
Great real world review.
8x32’s are the best for most uses.
Huge field of view.
Magnification is close enough to the 10x42’s, not much difference.
Super compact.
Agree 100%

Are the Vortex Diamondback HD binoculars IPX7 waterproof rated?
GREAT video, just ordered a pair... keep it up!
you will love them
Have a though question.. would you pick this mid range 8x32 over the high end pocket 8x25 from Zeiss and Swarovski for night viewing?
Great question! Yes I would. But honestly for night viewing Id be looking at a 7x50 or biggest objective lens you can find for best light gathering.
@@SamkoTradBow
I understand big lens for night viewing but I often walk in the park in the evening and don’t want to haul a large and heavy one. 8x32 will be the biggest for this purpose. Hence, my question on mid tie 8x32 vs high end 8x25.
@@malin7919 yeah I would think the 8x32 would be better with better light gathering.
Got a pair of diamond back 10x42 hard to beat for 200$
Yep they are amazing for the money.
That shirt rules!
Just order a pair.
You are gonna love them
Have you looked at the viper version of this model? If so, are they nicer yet?
the vipers are fantastic. never owned them but my buddy does and they are great and you get high quality glasses for a great price.
@@SamkoTradBow I am looking for the ultimate bino that I will glass some here in PA with as long as taking it hunting with me. I would like to have the best low light option. Am I better off to just go with Swarovski 8-32?
@@kyleh628 I dont think anything out there beats the swarvos. But honestly, for deer hunting i think the diamondback or vipers will be Excellent and save you some money.
@@SamkoTradBow How much of a difference would the 8 x 42 be compared to the ones you shows in the vid? does the 42mm objective provide you with that much more light?
@@kyleh628 the 8x42s will definitely be brighter. But they will also be bigger and heavier. No trade offs are free. But honestly if I had to choose for normal whitetail hunting I'd go 8x32 as they see better than I can all the way up until dark and are light and compact.
Nice. I'm getting the 10x50 hds
Those will be amazing!
Love it
Thanks
The best around the 200$ price.
Agree
I find the chromatic aberration on the diamondback hd is totally out of control. Absolutely unacceptable to me.
@@iancurrie8844 doesn't bother me at all. And I make a living looking through pro grade lenses
I hate this huge eyepieces. No One wearing binoculars. Total troll nonsense. I wondering about 8x28 version because i don't like to adjust eyes distans or aiming into huge eyepieces like a noob.
You are mispronouncing Bausch.

Problem of plenty
HD is a marketing buzz word.
Also a combination of coatings
I think he is just a salesman. The case sucks. After you buy the binoculars you need to spend more money to get a better case.
Too much rushed talking. No need to sound so hyper. Your videos would be better with less talking
cool. Before I go to bed tonight I will make a point to write down a list of all the things I could do to better them for you
First world problems.
couldn't watch it was a swarovski ad
Are the Vortex Diamondback HD binoculars IPX7 waterproof rated?
They are water proof and fog proof. Don't know the rating but I bet it says in the specs. Mine have been submerged in swamps a few times and perfect.
