I am a black woman who have dated black men all my life and I am very hurt at the fact that it was a white man (that I ended up marrying) that treated me with respect, was faithful, was there for me when I needed him, that followed through on what he said he would do, wasn't playing games with me and didn't have a problem earning my trust and ultimately my hand. Why couldn't any of the brothers do even half of that? I didn't date thugs I dated grown black men with good jobs and some were very religious and still played me with no hesitation and treated me like I was easily replaceable. My black girlfriends are sharing the same experiences with BM as I have had also. This is beyond frustrating. They too are starting to think outside of the black box and it's not necessarily bcuz we want to. I would of preferred to build my future with a black man but unfortunately he was a no show so now I'm working with the one who not only showed up but bought the rights to the whole production and granted me the starring role.

I used to think that black love was top priority.unfortunately, every black man that I have had a relationship with has treated me terribly when I finally gave up the notion. When I say I have been treated terribly this is what I mean I would have to pay for everything. The man would continuously cheat on me.the man would always talk about getting me pregnant but never talked about marrying me. I will continuously try to defend him to friends and family. I would try to continuously prove him that I am worthy and a good. Once I stopped dating black men, I did not have these problems any further. actually i think the notion of his book is that black women should be more open to interracial dating because their picking pool of black men is small and if you pair every black woman to black man there would still be a lot more black single women. I am a black woman who have dated black men all my life and I am very hurt at the fact that it was a white man (that I ended up marrying) that treated me with respect, was faithful, was there for me when I needed him, that followed through on what he said he would do, wasn't playing games with me and didn't have a problem earning my trust and ultimately my hand. Why couldn't any of the brothers do even half of that? I didn't date thugs I dated grown black men with good jobs and some were very religious and still played me with no hesitation and treated me like I was easily replaceable. My black girlfriends are sharing the same experiences with BM as I have had also. This is beyond frustrating. They too are starting to think outside of the black box and it's not necessarily bcuz we want to. I would of preferred to build my future with a black man but unfortunately he was a no show so now I'm working with the one who not only showed up but bought the rights to the whole production and granted me the starring role.
