Im 62 and was born in Southeast Illinois ( 62205) we used to hunt with regular dogs and sticks. The neighbors couldn't believe that we could catch that many rabbits without guns and hounds.
Ha thats so awesome, would have loved to see you in action. Very cool! When there is a will there is a way 😁 thanks for the story and thanks for watching!
It was a blast! O yeah my bottle of slap yo mama goes on every camping trip with me lol. Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. Welcome to the channel 🤘
I went for a squirrel dumpling dinner as a teenager to a girl I met from way back in the holler. Her Mom bought out a plate of squirell heads and her dad cracked the skull and sucked out the brains. I’ve learned this is a custom and normal in rural areas, but it still makes me sick to even think about-lol… Nice video!
Haha this comment had me cracking up. Bet you will never forget that day. My grandpa used to do the same thing, crack it right there on the edge of the table. Have thought about making a video on this one of these days…we shall see lol. Thanks for sharing your story and thanks for watching greatly appreciated! 😁🤘
Very nice. Always wanted to hunt down south. Always get too caught up in deer season up here in the north. No where you can camp and hunt though. Good video 👍
Much appreciated thanks for watching! I got lucky enough to have a buddy that bought some acreage lol. But i do know the Shawnee National Forest has dispersed camping and hunting. I think that may be an upcoming video its a beautiful place from what i can remember. Hope ya have a great hunting season!
Yeah definitely paying the price for that one in the comments…definitely dropped the ball on that. Appreciate everyone bringing it to my attention. Thanks for watching!

Ok squirrels and rabbits fur are very different! Rabbits you can just pull the hair off like you pluck a turkey it comes right off easy but squirrels are like deer you got to have a knife 😂
For sure my buddy told me this b4 i skinned it. Edited that part out tho…youtube is weird about skinning and guts im quickly realizing lol. Never had a snoshoe but 💯 this was delicious! Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!

Yup 💯 agree total oversight on my part. Buddy owns the land and could care less but i try to leave it how i found it every time…i dropped the ball this time. Not a typical occurrence for me. Thanks for watching.
@@JayPeaOutdoors I'm a hunter and use to be a hunter Ed instructor. Sorry if I sound bitchy.

@JayPeaOutdoors I asked because I've done froze my toosh off many times here in Missouri because of not knowing if it's safe to do so, I mean, I got heavy sleeping bags and all that, but man I bet it gets toasty with the buddy heater on!
@@R0NE100 o yeah, now i will say the buddy heater has a low co2 shut off sensor built in but i like to get a co2 sensor off amazon and have it in the tent with me as back up just in case. But as long as you got a little window cracked or a little air movement it is 💯 safe. And it’s super cozy. I have camped in 7 degree weather with a buddy heater in a tent it is a total game changer lol. Highly suggest it!
Congratulations! I definitely want to do some more rabbit hunting here in the near future. Lot different than squirrel hunting i am quickly finding out. The white ones, are they snow shoe hares? Thanks for watching!

Absolutely, im not entirely sure what the brand of sleeping pad i have it was purchased off a deal site by my wife but I looked on amazon for you and it looks like there is one made by kingcamp that is very similar to what i have. They are an absolute game changer. Highly recommend. As for the bed its an ozark trail one (Walmart brand) its ok but cant use it without a blow up mat. The fabric started to sag and the support bar goes right in my back without one. I would suggest looking on amazon and type in camping cot. There are a lot of similar ones like the one i have in this video but probably better quality. Hope this helps out. Thank your for watching and commenting greatly appreciate it.
