Always loved the old yellow and black yz's. Just more classic than the white ones that Bradshaw rode.

@@ianmangham4570i think they were purple and white or red and white here in the states but mid 80s back this yellow and black looked good but I think that they had some years that were blue also in the 70s and 80s?

I picked one of those up in 94' for $200. Rode it until the wheels fell off. It had no rear brakes and only a little front brakes but I learned how to ride the hell out of it. Made me a better rider once I rode a bike with brakes. Still one of the best bikes Ive ever owned.

I had an 83 YZ 125 that I sold 10 years ago out of a desperate need for cash at the time. I actually got it for free from a friend of mine. Out of the 10 plus bikes I have owned over the years, it was hands down the best, and my favorite. This brings back fond memories.

Another great memory had the 82 with the top mount radiator but wished it was black and yellow. The Canadian bikes switched to red and white that year,Never should’ve sold it

Had the 82 Yz 125 ,when i was 13, white and red up here in Canada. The rad on the front of the 82 was always a bit goofy ,I think the 83 model was definitely a good upgrade when they changed the rads .Cool old 1980 bikes such a change in technology from 1980 to 1990 .Cool bike.

Coffee and Kaplan ringing out an Old YZ doesn't get no better. Man the factories need to bring back the gold anodized rims. Keep up the great work!

This was my race bike in 1983. I loved it, rear suspension was a kicker but I pulled a ton of holeshots on it. ugly grey frame & fork boots aren't original but they rot out on most bikes. Chains as tight as a Banjo string. Hard to believe the shrouds are still in tact, they broke easy

Beautiful and sick, powerhouse of a bike. My Uncle had that same exact bike. I can remember being 10 years old, and quite small. When my Uncle would ride me on it, I sat in front of him, with a helmet on, holding on to the handlebars, as he rode a wheelie, shifting through the gears, and when that powerband came on the pipe, it echoed through my neighborhood, for blocks. This video brought up some great childhood memories of mine. Thanks so much for that, brother. ML&R

My first dirt bike was an 83 YZ125.
My brother and I got it for Xmas at back when. He was so small, I had to hold the bike up for him to take off. The thing was an absolute riot and damn-near indestructible. I imagine they would bring a little more than $800 today.

Oh man😍. I have some great memories of this bike…..I was living in Japan in 1983 and had a white/red 83 yz125 over there which I raced as an amateur. We came back to the states for a month that summer and my dad bought me another yz125 to race in the US. I went to one event and broke my leg in the first turn…so that brand new yz125 sat unused in my sisters garage until we came home in august 1984. I had quit racing to focus on college but was lured back into it by this bike. Won a lot of local races in Japan and back here in the states on that machine. One of my all time favorite bikes.😊
