Thanks so much for the tips! Will try twisting the stuck coils I’ve been struggling with tomorrow and let you know how that goes. Hope you are doing great!
I was able to free 2 coils so far, still have another 2 stubborn ones that have given me quite a fight.. 🤞 I’ll be able to get them soon. Thanks again!
When you want to focus on a small item and get good focus. Set it up with something holding it. Back up 3-5 feet. Then use your zoom. I learned this from when I took pictures of diamond rings. It gave me the sparkle.
Wd40 helped, dentist's mirror, needle nose pliers with grips, patience, prayers, and then compressed air to blow out the debris before finally getting to the plug. My mechanic refused to do this job when I gave out the valve adjustment and asked for new plugs... he tore the first coil and forewarned me. 3 hours later I am into all the cylinders again 😮
Same thing happened to me with my 2012 Jeep patriot which is the same style engine and coil boot in this video. I put some wd-40 in there cause someone else said they did that too. Then what really helped was the angled pick I used to poke and yank the coil boot up
I have a stripped ignition coil hole. The car runs but all I have tightening it now is some Teflon tape. But I made the mistake of buying those cheap Amazon ignition coils and they've been going out on me, the same second coil. They're also hard to get out so I'm wondering if you think if it's hard to get out that it's not in any danger of coming out while I'm driving since the bolt is not flushed down but it is still gripping and the he bolt did tightened a little.
Dealing with this crap for 3 hours now. Had to take a break because my nosy ass neighbors kept coming around and interrupting me about their car issues and the weather. FUCK!!
I bent and sharpened stainless landscape staple. Upward hook with good biteThrough jaws of locking plyers and bent along handle to stiffen when gripping plyers . Tightened as tight as I could get it. Ended up hardened a bit where I ground and bent it . And Compressed air. The cheap picks I bought were useless. Buy once cry once or make the tool if more time than money . Good video wouldn’t have taken me a day of toil think to use compressed air had I watched this
Let me tell you my heart just dropped when I saw that 4 for the boots broke off and well shit I didn't know wtf to do . Any ways thanks for the video hopefully it never happens again
Thanks to this video, I was able to have this same issue resolved after picking up an o-ring pick set I had spend 5 hrs dealing with them breaking off with different pliers being used. But after picking up a o- ring picks had the remaining three off within 20 mins. Thanks and solid and useful advice
You're lucky . You have room to twist it more than 20 degrees AND nothing above you. I used lock jaw pliers and still no luck. Will be working on this one for the next couple of hours, I'm sure. By the time I am finished it's gonna be one ugly chewed up coil pack.
Thanks for the tip!!! I was gonna set fire to my car.
I'm about to !!
As older lady and first time trying to do this, I am in total panic mode!
Got 2 stuck boots on my 08 civic right now. Thanks for the tips 👍

I got two stuck on a dodge ram 1500 Hemi of course both are Closest to firewall. I gotta make some custom picks to get back there.
I’m working on one of those back driver’s side ones right now. 😢
What if its the plastic stem thats broken off in there
vacuum and air compressor works on that small debris
@@kdao1007please explain more in depth

I was able to buy just the ends of the coil boots that got stuck in there. Bought them from autozone or advanceautoparts

Dealing with this issue right now on my 2020 dodge ram 1500 . Same boot, no grease, broke off in the exact same place smh
Would this work on a 2016 Honda civic and would doing this break the spark plug?

Hi do u have a code on how can change or replace the cylinder where the spark plug and the coil goes in please
Patience. That's where I always fail.
Let me tell you my heart just dropped when I saw that 4 for the boots broke off and well shit I didn't know wtf to do .
Any ways thanks for the video hopefully it never happens again
Just use a hemostat and clamp in between the boot, and the plug and on the outside of the rubber twist and pull
how to remove a broken ignition coil from 2004 jaguar not the boot, coil broke in half while removing

I need this but for the back.
Shows the importance of applying a little silicone to boots when changing out with new ones . Lol
where do you put the silicon; on the inside up the bottom of the boot?
How do you remove the actual top piece because on my car it just will not move
any luck or tips ?
100% was gonna say: o-ring hooks. Second spark plug replacement, second broken boot.

I can’t get the clips off the dam coil pack lol
Ya just put a firecracker down the tube
Bout where I'm at lol. Working on a Ford, and the one that broke off is under the firewall. Been a pain in the rear.
