I’ve bro I’ve had my axe fx 3 going 6 months there’s so much to learn …I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface ….pitch …blown away gonna look for ur amazing blocks …as always cheers from Los Angeles and thanks so much for all u do bro
Yep... so my Luminary pedal is going up for sale later today haha Seriously awesome stuff Leon. Watching your videos/tutorials on tone has been an integral part of the great experience I’m having as a new musician to modeling and the Axe Fx 3 Absolutely loving the ambient tutorials like this one and the golden ratio and plex verb. Keep me coming man! Cheers!
Always glad to hear they go over well. I was watching a demo of the Meris Hedra pedal and wanted to try cop some of those tones - next thing i'm chest deep in the pitch block of the III.
haha I was just saying when I saw the pedal, "Maybe I'm going to have to hybrid between modelling and pedals eventually because there are some really cool pedals out there that would be a biyatch to model." Leon Todd, "Hold my beer..."
It really has blown my mind how many amazing tones are in that box. The biggest thing for me is having the patience to get them. Your videos definitely help immensely. Especially because the ambient sounds seem so complex and in some cases require multiple blocks. When I hear some of the stuff from Meris and Strymon it almost seems easier to have the pedal with knobs but you are slowly breaking down those barriers
Great demo of the Pitch block Leon, there absolutely nothing the AXE III can’t do! I’m saving for one now but I’m happy with my AX8 until then. Cheers!
I like washy sounds ! You make good washy and psychedeleic sounds ! I like Leslie cabinets so anytime people are bringing Chorus or modulation, I need to come at lightning speed to share my appreciation of that effect. ... Even if I don't own a single pedal, not a single effect and that I've always ever played direct in my amp lol
Leon, That was a very comprehensive demonstration of the pitch block, but I would appreciate it very much if you and your studio would quit melting. ; )
Do you live in a guitar center or something? Cause if all those guitars are yours you have to - PLEASE ! - tell your wife to call mine and talk some sense into her. :-)) I have only 5 guitars and she says it's more than enough, who can understand women huh?
Dude, you are the MAN! You really know how to bring an appreciation to this tone machine...I am so blessed to have this thing.

I just started playing around with the pitch block, this was super helpful. So many options, thanks for helping demystify it.
My pleasure! There's a lot of great options in there, especially the quad shift/quad shift delay.
Some of this is brilliant... some of this is just Space Mice on Bad Drugs...
That quad detune. Bruuuuuuuuh. Sounds phenomenal dude!
that's the sauce!
I'd love to see part 2 on this one.

Hahaha yep - most of the pedal demos i hear I immediately start thinking of how to implement them in the Axe. Cliff has thought of everything.

If you haven't already check out some of the effects blocks Simeon harris made for the Axe-Fx II - he nails so many classic effect tones it's crazy.
Seriously awesome tones & textures !
much appreciated!
TIL some new stuff I can do with my Axe Fx III by watching Leon Todd.
Make coffee, sit back and get wild with the pitch block.
thanks for this one..it does have endless posibilities...

This is exactly the kind of stuff I need. I have had only had my fx3 for a few weeks. Thanks 🙏 so much for sharing. Cheers
keep me posted with how you like it, or if there's anything you're unsure about.
Hey Leon...fantastic as always! Is the greenback IR that you mentioned at the front end of the video up on Axe-Change?
You can find it here forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/marshall-tv-mix-irs.150545/

The Leslie cab sound makes me weak at the knees. My buddy owns a real one and it sounds absolutely amazing plugged straight in.
Killer Demonstration, thank you!
Who disliked this!? Great video and sounds!
Dave Zahara the people who are jelly
I don't have any fractal products, I'm wondering if can I use double pitch block one for detune and one for whammy at the same time?
Yes
Really enjoyed this. Can't wait to mess around with this on the 3. There were moments that reminded me of Vai' Flexible album.
Definitely! I really hope Steve is getting busy with this block on his Axe-Fx.
I normally limit my pitch block to around 100 pitches. Dont want to blow it's arm this early in the season. Gotta keep it healthy for the playoffs.
It's all about pacing out the stars
Do you think this isapplicable on FM3?
As always very informative video from you. Thanks
The FM3 will have the pitch block so it should work a treat.
That was cool. The tune at the beginning sounded something out of Steve Vai's Flexible.
My slap bass debut!
Part 2? Please :'/
Soon!
Hi Leon, stereoizer effects could be awesome dude, could you showcase?
On the list to explore :)
The Dweezil thing from axe fest was cool. Maybe an in depth?
is it polyphonic and play chords as well as the EH pitchfolk plus?
I wish Fractal would make a vst of the whole AxeFx thing.
I'd be all: SHUT UP AN TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very unlikely unfortunately. I'd love if they rolled their time based effects into a plugin.
Sound’s like Rush’s Different Strings
That's such an underrated tune!
Hey Leon, what pitch interval do you think would work for Darius Rucker’s Wagon Wheel, learned the violin solos for a party.
"Voices repeating me"
'Feeling threatened?
We reflect your hopes and fears.'
Leon, That was a very comprehensive demonstration of the pitch block, but I would appreciate it very much if you and your studio would quit melting. ; )
Will the pitch block be on the FM3?
yes
Does that Strat have a scalloped fretboard?
YEs indeed - well spotted! It's a YJM.
Is it polyphonic??
The virtual capo and advanced whammy is - the quad shift handles fifths and octaves very neatly.
Do you live in a guitar center or something?
Cause if all those guitars are yours you have to - PLEASE ! - tell your wife to call mine and talk some sense into her. :-))
I have only 5 guitars and she says it's more than enough, who can understand women huh?
I'll set up a conference call :D
