@IgiTHAkage The old school AS and what we have are vastly different. They take themselves too seriously now, and their jokes are no longer tounge-in-cheek. They feel like they're *trying* to make you laugh and pay attention, versus them literally not giving a shit what they would air with the b&w bumps. Not necessarily their fault though. The advancement of the internet and the way we consume content now has changed things. Having a 24 hr stream of practically anything you could think of on your phone or computer meant TV had to get edgier to keep viewership.

As an adult I am filled with sadness hearing and seeing these. I feel like a piece of myself is gone. Some of my happiest memories when I was a kid. Gaming with adult swim on in the background, taking breaks to watch my favorite shows. Then in college, up working when everyone else on campus was either asleep or doing the same thing. The sense of isolation only equal to the sense of community. Good times.

Wish I could go back, just one day/night. I’d stay up late with my older brother to watch family guy, boondocks, bleach, futurama, etc. and make trips to the 24/7 gas station to get munchies for the shows. Shit man waking up/listening to the first bump always brought me to some sort of enlightened state as a kid (sounds weird or cringe af but best way to explain it) that would get me anxious about the future because I knew that none of that was going to last forever before the inevitable growing old and having our own careers, families, and relationships. Just miss the simpler times.

1:38 I don't know how to explain it, but this image alone represents so much of what Adult Swim was about back in the day. I envy those who worked nightshifts back then and would stay up late to watch this while at work. Must've been quite the experience to watch Metalocalypse and the Boondocks while on the clock.

It would always be Futurama, Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, then bed. That was on a school night, no less.
Saturdays were always anime days. I was never into anime, but I’d watch with my brother and sister. Case Closed and Inuyasha were our favorites lol. Then Sunday would roll around and ai’d just be bummed that I had school the next day. I never really cared for their Sunday programs. All I remember was Venture Bros. (Which was really good) and Metalocaplypse (which I found out recently was also really good).
I fell out of the loop once they started doing live action shows. I don’t even know what Adult Swim looks like these days.

Do they still play Superjail? I used to love that show. It introduced me to Cheeseburger, they were the guys that did the theme song. They only got 2 albums, but I used to listen to them every single day in high school.

Words will never describe the feeling of waking up in the middle of the night and turning on the tv just to watch Adult Swim! I thank [AS] for the childhood memories and putting us on Boombap/ LoFi at such a young age. If I could relive those moments with the innocent mind and worry less of thoughts just once again I will die a happy man. Huge inspiration on my production as we speak today.

At 0:29 I used to live off of that exit off the downtown connector, I-85/I-75 merged. That brought back such a flood of memories so strong I can barely stand it. I miss home.
We all miss home too... although while some may never get to return home again we still have everything that it made us. Its been 6 and a half years since I lost my home. I'm still grateful for what I did have. The privilege to watch TV every night in safety and warmth.
With all of that said, I know the main reason anyone watches this is for nostalgia, of course. I also feel that for most of us that nostalgia is rooted deeply within our childhoods or young adulthood.

I used to get angry about them basically spamming Seth McFarland Shows. 1 Hr of Family Guy, Next: 1HR of American Dad, Next: 1HR of Cleveland Show...
As an OG adult swim watcher, this really bothered me.
I didn’t always love their weirder original programming. I did love Metalopcalypse, Xavier Renegade, Robot Chicken, etc...
But I usually loved the obscure older shows that had a short run before being cancelled on their original network. Ex: Mission Hill, Oblongs, Home Movies

It's 2005, it's 3AM Sunday morning. I'm on TeamSpeak2 alone, all the homies went to bed. I somehow finally got membership on RuneScape2 the night prior, and am grinding for my first D-Chain. My TV is on nearby with this playing in the background. Life was so nice back then...
Pretty similar experience, except it was 2008 and the VOIP of choice was Skype or Mumble while raiding Ulduar and watching ATHF on the TV.

I swear, these commercials really brought me back. Really got me in love with lofi music. The lineup for shows back then was amazing especially staying up from 11pm to 5:30 am. 2005, I was 12 years old in Junior High. Those were the best times back then.
I remember those nights on the weekend, me and my older brother would be at my grandmas house watching adult swim, nostalgia is strong here. I’m glad we all had these moments with brothers/friends or other family. It’s good to have those memories to cherish of our younger days !

I would pay adult swim to go back to these style bumps just for one more era. come back to that 2003 era adult swim that I remember growing up to as a teen. Im so glad to have grown up in the perfect time to see adult swim when it first came to television as well as all the way through its golden age era. I feel like the era of 97-05 was so special.
