Here's a fun fact: My parent didn't know Adult Swim shared a channel with Cartoon Network so I stayed up watching King of the Hill, Furturama and Robot Chicken. I didn't know the difference. They didn't know until quite recently.

My parents were super strict about it too and told me not to watch it, even the transitions from Cartoon Network into adultswim make it look so illegal for kids to watch. Y’know what would be cool A remake of the 2001 adult swim opening. The difference is that instead of people, it would be all of the cartoon characters. In the beginning, it would have all the Cartoon Network characters and the Adult Swim characters would come into the pool and kick them out(literally) Then, one of them would call out, “Adult Swim, all kids out of the pool!” and the sequence would be as normal. BTW, the CN characters being in the pool at first would symbolize the audience change.

Watching King of the Hill with your family after a nice marathon of Gumball on vacation is something that unfortunately a lot of people haven't experienced, especially people in Christian households (like me). (My family doesn't have cable, so we watch Cartoon Network on Hulu/vacation trips.)
it was funny that when AS first came out in 2001 the warnings were like we are goin to show really bad stuff that are 18+ but space ghost, aqua teen hunger force, harvey birdman, brak show, and sealab were pretty tame at its first few episodes

My dad didn't mind when i'd watch Adult Swim. However, I could never watch Robot Chicken because of the intro. I would get so scared when the scientist would grab the chicken and install robot parts on it in the intro, to the point where I'd change the channel each time.
I never had a “good night” or “following content may not be suitable for children”. It just went straight to scarier stuff. I lived for it. I stole the computer to watch adult swim because one of my friends had found out about it. Good days!

I lived in Germany for 10 years due to my dad being in the Air Force. I dunno if it's because we were stuck with the UK's version of Cartoon Network (don't know how we got that), or something. But we never got Adult Swim where I lived, I only got a taste of it when we vacationed in the US at 2003. And we got TNT and TCM instead on our version of Cartoon Network when it reached nighttime. Even after we moved to the US at 2007, we never got cable until 2010, so for most of my life, I've rarely experienced Adult Swim. Though, I suppose being able to experience Adult Swim fully at 18 is a good way to start adulthood, so there's that.
Cartoon Network France had its own version of Adult Swim back in 2003. It was called "DZAQC" ("désaxé") and only lasted a few months before a law banned children TV from broadcasting at night. It aired stuff like Home Movie. The whole thing is lost media now.
2001 was nostalgic for me. I remember watching AS with my cousins during the pool era while my parents were asleep. Love that seamless transition from 2007 though

Watching King of the Hill with your family after a nice marathon of Gumball on vacation is something that unfortunately a lot of people haven't experienced, especially people in Christian households (like me). (My family doesn't have cable, so we watch Cartoon Network on Hulu/vacation trips.)

it was funny that when AS first came out in 2001 the warnings were like we are goin to show really bad stuff that are 18+ but space ghost, aqua teen hunger force, harvey birdman, brak show, and sealab were pretty tame at its first few episodes
Yeah it's not violent, just weird. Before they did stuff like Superjail they mostly aired stuff too weird for children, hence why people call Adult Swim "stoner programming"

If I ran Cartoon Network:
- Adult Swim’s hours would be cut to 10pm-5am
- Teen Titans GO! would get the axe
- the schedule would get a much needed overhaul: plenty of variety, no more than 2 hours of any 1 show, 5am-7am would consist of reruns of past Cartoon Network shows

My dad didn't mind when i'd watch Adult Swim. However, I could never watch Robot Chicken because of the intro. I would get so scared when the scientist would grab the chicken and install robot parts on it in the intro, to the point where I'd change the channel each time.
2010 outro just struck a cord in my heart. I don't often feel nostalgia (cause I'm a young adult) but boy it put a warm feeling in my heart.
I never had a “good night” or “following content may not be suitable for children”. It just went straight to scarier stuff. I lived for it.

Does anyone else remember the very night Adult Swim started? I was 9 years old and had my own TV in my room, so I got to watch tons of stuff. Good times.
I would try to stay up all night to watch Adult Swim to prove I was “cool”, but I would always fall asleep before then.
I already did that, but when my mom finally woke up she told me to go back to sleep, it was worth it.

I lived in Germany for 10 years due to my dad being in the Air Force. I dunno if it's because we were stuck with the UK's version of Cartoon Network (don't know how we got that), or something. But we never got Adult Swim where I lived, I only got a taste of it when we vacationed in the US at 2003. And we got TNT and TCM instead on our version of Cartoon Network when it reached nighttime.
Even after we moved to the US at 2007, we never got cable until 2010, so for most of my life, I've rarely experienced Adult Swim. Though, I suppose being able to experience Adult Swim fully at 18 is a good way to start adulthood, so there's that.

Cartoon Network France had its own version of Adult Swim back in 2003. It was called "DZAQC" ("désaxé") and only lasted a few months before a law banned children TV from broadcasting at night. It aired stuff like Home Movie. The whole thing is lost media now.
