He is talking about Pi though, when used post-fader which is what the makers recommend whenever possible. He's not talking about gain staging at any point here, he's talking about how much each channel fed into Pi influences it's behaviour

@@strumspicks2456 ok... i'm not trying to be an ass. to me, signal flow and aspects like pre/post fader fx/plugins are in the realm of gain staging. especially post fader slots since any fader moves will affect the incoming gain (gain structure.) i get that he's being thorough... totally understand... i just wanted to hear about the functionality of pi. pre/post fader plugin knowledge is something you should probably understand before you worry about a plugin like pi. im just impatient sometimes... my bad yall.

That's actually a very good plugin for layering and mixing drums. PI is more of a "dynamic" phase plugin.
