I know I'm loving mine. Having been traumatized by Digitech and DOD processing units in the 90s and early 2000s, this thing blows me away. They basically nailed everything down, made it simple to figure out and got rid of most of the negatives. It blows my mind how far guitar technology has come.
The unit seems like a pretty serious upgrade from the GE 200, for those looking for a good half way point between that and the GE 300, for someone looking for a good multi fx unit, but isn't trying to spend $800 on one. With all of the modelers out there, this is such a great time to be playing guitar.
You ordered a pod go correct? I'm conflicted on the ge250 vs pod go. I know there is a bit more in and outs on the ge250 but the helix modeling via pod go might be a must have.
I can't decide how to feel about this. It sounds very good, but it's so hard to judge stuff on RUclips. I kinda feel like it's a little pricey, but that could just be because I think everything is a little pricey. Very good demo, though!
@Taylor Danley have you ever listed to a Canadian band called Moist? Your clean tone sounded exactly like the start of one their songs called Gasoline if memory serves. The 90s called, I think they wanted some clean tones :P I couldn't quite make out the message over all the grunge....
Cool video. Seems like a great unit. Debating this and the Line 6 Pod GoPro. Any chance you will be doing a comparison? I’m leaning toward the Pod but the Ge250 has the IR Capture feature and a few other options that seem awesome.
I am first? No I think, we all still watching... Hey, that captured tone sounds nice! the cleans were convincing enough, I would like to know more the slightly break-up sounds in this GE250
Depends on what I'm trying to do. The ge250 has more utilities i.e. the tone capture and global EQ, but the Ampero has more robust effects... so 🤷♂️ just depends on what is kore important to you really. Full disclosure: 9/10 when I'm tracking I use a plugin to monitor and track the DI. When I'm playing live, I'm using an Axefx.
Nice video man.Can you change between a clean to distortion to a lead setting on a song on this thing without having to flick through to another setting?.Thanks
Taylor Danley thanks for the reply man.Yeah so if I need to go from clean to distortion in a song I have the option to do it by clicking on A B or C.If I find a good rhythm section on patch 17 and I find a good lead setting on day patch 32 is it quite easy to merge them together on the same setting?.Sorry I’m not very technical with stuff like this. Thanks
I'm thinking of buying a GE250, but I don't like Delay. It sounds hollow - the repetition is softer than the first note. Ampero is prettier. What's your opinion? Is it really weaker than Ampero or can it be customized?
What's your favorite amp model? I got my Ge250 yesterday for 270 bucks and mine are the 5150 and the Mesa MARKIII. In comparison to the real amps though you really have to find the sweet spot for gain imo..
Still considering GE200, GE300 or Line 6 Pod Go, mostly use for recording, is GE200 good enough? Some reviews said GE200 got latency for USB recording, really? Same for GE250? I've been using Boss ME-80 as well as Katana no latency issue, as latency is pretty annoying for recording. Is there big differences in tones when use with amp with fx loops between GE200&250? I'm using Boss Katana head with Marshall Cab. Please advice for all above, thanks Taylor! Great video...
thanks! Yeah there is a definite improvement with the ge250 over the ge200 with the amp tones, but the 200 is still great, I recorded an album with it so 🤷♂️. No idea about latency, I never use them as interfaces, too many audio drivers to juggle around when I already have a dedicated interface.
Hey man, been digging your videos. Hope you can answer a question for me - I want an Ampero, but atm where I am I only have access to a the GE250 and a Boss GT100. I pretty much just want metal tones, and volume expression. Would love your input on which I should get, if you get the chance! Keep up the good work :). Which modeler would produce the most "authentic" tube tones, without the dreaded digital fizz at high gain?
Can't wait to try this thing, also really impressed with the effects loop and ability to add custom IRs

Just think what it will be in 10 years!

I agree - and that applies to plugins also, for those who record. Lots and lots of options!
does this have a different/better sound engine than the 200?
or is this just a rehoused ge 200 with more output options and tone capture feature?
@@ninjamagz It's more like a downgraded 300 than an upgraded 200.
Without distortion it sounds so boomy. Try add a 808 before amp, this give you some good presence

Yep! Just delayed shipping... no idea when it will show 🤷♂️
Can the Expression pedal on the GE-250 be used as a volume pedal?
Bit late but I got mine and you can have a volume BEFORE or AFTER your amp model - It's so versatile, honestly blown away
Good review! A question - is it possible to set the tuner to silent, so when you switch the tuner on it's already in silent mode? Thanks.
Yes it’s possible

Thanks! Totally understand the YT thing. Sometimes the video compression can completely change the way things sound!

Nope. What a name! I'll have to see if I can find it.
@@TaylorDanley Man, it was the 90s, are you surprised? Haha
Nope.

100% chance. I've been waiting for my podgo to ship. It's been delayed for a month!

You can use the foot switches to change patches, if that's what you mean

So how does this compare to to line 6 PodGo?
No idea, still waiting for that thing to ship!
Hey. The GE300 has an Ambience300 preset, is there such a preset in the GE250?
I liked the effect, but I don't want to overpay.
which one is which if 14.15. is e650 blackmore what is 10.11. e650 :))))
what is your signal chain for the video?
What are you running the GE250 into?
An apollo twin duo USB
How does the Solar pickups compare with active ones? or good passive ones like dimarzio evo etc?
Very mid punchy and hot. An EMG 81 is flatter with more bite by comparison.

now you miss the GE300 to complete the collection!
Its coming!

But....does it thall?
Not much of a review. More like a dialing in tone video. 🤷🏼♂️ Just saying.
