In the eyes of the Buddha, the world is nothing but Samsara -- the cycle of repeated births and deaths. To Him, the beginning of the world and the end of the world is within this Samsara. Since elements and energies are relative and inter-dependent, it is meaningless to single out anything as the beginning. Whatever speculation we make regarding the origin of the world, there is no absolute truth in our notion. 'Infinite is the sky, infinite is the number of beings, Infinite are the worlds in the vast universe, Infinite in wisdom the Buddha teaches these, Infinite are the virtues of Him who teaches these.' - (Sri Ramachandra)
You know be a buddha means know who you are your sens of life and if you want to eliminate every desirs and aversion you have to let your spirit dominate your body and find what is useful for your goals .....
Praying for me i believe God when i was little girl i believe God is a big God has the whole world in his hands and know every hair on our Head God knows us before i was born before i got in my mother womb i have asked God what is my purpose in God where my resources come from i know it comes from God where is my ability in God praying for my mind that my mind staying alert and have a stable minds with concentrate and focused when i was little girl i have a goal that i want to do i want to be a models and be a dancer that what happened to me going in wrong direction i believe God is in the universe out there somewhere can have my suffering and lonely
At 23:00, when he describing the jewel encrusted thrones, I wonder if it was as much a symbol of wealth as it was a product of a DMT trip. See the work of Rick Strassman or artwork of Alex Grey for descriptions of DMT experience as being radiantly jewel encrusted.
Want to see what he's talking about first hand? Let the truth come to you. Stop and look. Don't try and get anywhere. Don't have a motive. Don't strive for anything. Let yourself experience life. Don't think, experience. Experience everything no matter how much it hurts. Let life happen and step out of your own way. You will find that you have simply forgotten that you are everyone and everything expanding up and down and out through and beyond infinity.
After Dropping the physical body we take on an astral body , we have many shells (bodies), like the covalence of an atom, and all happening at the same time.
There can be no "Emergent Universe". Everything is the same. All systems work the same at each level and physics, time, space, etc are simply different descriptions of the same thing. One Universe, many human ways of experiencing/creating within it.
He's a Brahmavid, don't let him fool ya! I disagree however with one important insight. The matter of Dukkha. To my understanding, suffering is a permanent archetype in Existence-Consciousness in the course of expressing Itself through the relative Sat-Asat World (as Adi Sankara also defined it). However, our underlying/substrate pure or fully real Sathya Sthithi (State of Brahman), which is KhandAnanda (infinite bliss), is what renders Dukkha a superficial, yet eternally persistent namarupa or name-form. Without the dynamic of Dukkha, we would 1. become too complacent; 2. have nothing to challenge us; 3. be driven mad by too much perfection; and 4. become too rooted in sterile clarity and lose touch with the creative flow that emanates from bewilderment. So, we need the Maya of suffering also. It's our evolutionary engine.
I think that this issue of the risk of complacency is addressed in the Dharma. There are these high level meditative absorption states that are blissful, yet impermanent. It is considered a danger to become enamoured with such states for the reason you say. Nevertheless, the point is that, after full enlightenment, you no longer need suffering to sustain beneficial activity. You see suffering everywhere and that's motivation enough.
Anyone got any tips on stabilizing out the Ma-rigpa (interpersonal apprehension tipping) in inter social being. Dont judge ? Dont judge judging ? Leveling protective mind field ?
I fall in love with psychopaths and sociopaths every day but they don't give a shit because they're not suffering so much and this guy is guessing because it calms his fears. Funny new agey stuff, what!
A lovely man and lovely concepts but one is at odds with other great philosophies from Ancient Egypt to Mesopotamia. Mankind was genetically modified to achieve a purpose. The cost was memory. Man (mn) means memory. Our energy keeps manifesting but who I call 'I' doesn't. We are spirits with Alzheimer's disease. This is the idea of being trapped in hell until released. To be released we must die with a Buddha nature; we must live and therefore be conscious in the Middle Path - live in the Now. Currently we think in duality; it is the product of over inflated imaginations, the product of our GM in the past. Reality is a simulation that operates on a trinary program. Only the centre values are immortal and cognisant. To live in the Now is to be centred between time's concepts of past and future. Nowness is the Buddha nature in consciousness.
The awake mind is not male and not female and it is not in transition between the two. Avoiding both maleness and femaleness, the transcendent mind is neither here nor there nor in between. Clinging to no personal conventions or categories, the transcendent mind goes beyond the person. If something transcends our ideas, it steps outside of them. Buddha was not a person in transition. Buddha was beyond the personal.
that is not what "Buddha" is ! Buddha is a title to use for the one who achieved "NIRWANAYA" when there's nobody have and he's able to teach/explain to others how to achieve it. there's another phenomena; someone did achieved it when there's nobody have but can't explain it, he's called as "Pase Buddha" many pase-buddhas can exist at a time but only one buddha can exist at a time and while his teachings are surviving ! when saying buddha is a state which becomes everything so he felt us, that goes against what Nirwanaya means, "Gothama Buddha" had gave his knowledge to us because he felt empathy for us and also it is his responsibility to do so when he's the Buddha !
I was looking forward to this lecture, but then at 3:26 he throws in the american president. Obama was vain, but why use him as a negative example, and alienate half of the viewers?
@@Dpiiiius I was being sarcastic -- made him alienate 100% of the viewers! My point is the politicization of religion is a big mistake, e.g. the (current) pope is destroying the Catholic Church by espousing critical theory.
@@candi6642 For sure, in the last 20 years western Buddhism has become just another safe space for left wing snowflakes. I abandoned the enterprise when they started flying the flag of decadence.
Been listening to Bob for decades. Always love his wisdom! It's the absolute truth about relativity.
I Got You (I Feel Good)
Song by James Brown
Wow, I feel good
I knew that I would now
I feel good
I knew that I would now
So good, so good, I got you
Wow, I feel nice
Like sugar and spice
I feel nice
Like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you
When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can do no wrong
And when I hold you in my arms
My love won't do you no harm
And I feel nice
Like sugar and spice
I feel nice
Like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you
When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can't do no wrong
And when I hold you in my arms
My love can't do me no harm
And I feel nice
Like sugar and spice
I feel nice
Like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, well I got you
Wow, I feel good
I knew that I would now
I feel good
I knew that I would
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
Hey
Every seconds of the teaching is succinctly coded with profound and immense knowledge.
Superb loved his light hearted way of communicating.
Thank you 🙏🏻 💕
Very relatable to current trends. Very logical speech with humour n life lesson.
Gratitude Robert!
The grand Buddha story boils down to: Conscious-awareness is all that is; you are that; everything you see is you.
don't boil it down

I love Robert Thurman's spirituality. I have watched a DVD of him speaking about reincarnation. He's a very engaging speaker.
Last words of this video: Even if they gonna kill us, we are going to die happy.
Thank you so much Robert enjoyed every second of this video!

Find an authentic guru who has attained the fruit and ask for the pith instructions.

he has not experienced it. he knows about it. he is not it. only a budhha is needed to explain buddha.
lmao 'Buddha was really beautiful, he was like a trans person' XD

no wonder it’s all so disorienting because your definition of a Buddha was what I took to be the definition of a kindergartener
