From what i have seen, ancient Indians has figured how to get in touch with the infinite intelligence that governs everything in this universe. They understood that this body we live in was formed from just two cells, into its entirety as that of an adult, with out any conscious effort or intellect. So they figured out, that infinite intelligence is beyond the intellect of the mind and hence it can't be grasped by the intellect. But it can be accessed. And if you can touch even 0.001% of that intelligence, life will be different. You can see that, this ancient civilization has found a way to get in touch with this energy thru everything. Indian classical music, dance, art and even every day work is based on this fundamental goal. Also according to vedic texts, our mind has 13 parts. Indian vedic knowledge has answers to all the questions that we are asking in the modern world. But the attitude of western science is dismissive towards anything from the east. These are civilizations who have explored way beyond what we can imagine. Like truly exceptional. But, how would you find anything about truth if you can't even take a look into it?!

“...just pause for a moment and let your mind relax... (your) thinking will come back (in a few seconds)”. There is a fascinating trick to stopping your train of thought temporarily. Especially useful for daydreaming or fantasizing ... Just move your eyes until they fix on something - a sign, person, or any distinct feature in your vision. Then blink two or three times. Each time focus more intently. Really see the feature. (Note: you will soon realize how little of what is around you you really “see”!) You will find that whatever you were thinking about has stopped, usually for at least several seconds. You can repeat this a few times to further quiet your mind. Moreover, if you were having “undesirable” thoughts (hateful, stupid, useless, or whatever), and you purposely use this technique to stop such thoughts, you will likely find they will not come right back. Of course you can’t totally stop your thoughts, but this may help you manage them. No promises, but works for me.
How about, that is why they call the eyes the Windows to the Soul. I practice Soft Focus and it's very much the same only you allow your vision to blur, and eventually you aren't really Looking, because you can't see clearly. You are just observing a kind if blurred energy and you can't judge it. If you can look without seeing and judging, what's left is just this blank space of Awareness. A bit of the IAm.
If you‘re german or still speak German (I assumed that by your username): Even more concrete than Russell or Tolle is Anssi Antila in his books. He gives a short, simple and direct instruction for awakening in the two small books: „Vom Ego zur Erleuchtung“ and „Das Wunder der Selbsterkenntnis“.
Pausing the mind is also another form of control. The motive behind the pause is to relax the mind. The idea is not to stop thinking by controlling the mind. but to see what is going on now without any motive in mind or the background.
Absolutely! Our brains are wired to see “stories” and often the stories get ahead of the immediate experience. We can’t see deeper truth and reality unless we stop that story. There’s a place for that stories but not when we’re trying to understand the inner core of something. The stories are patterns we have seen before.
Nothing to seek, nothing to do, nowhere to get too.... So, in essences, be and there you are. How monumentally simple yet profound. I wish like hell I could remember it!

Really good explanations. My opinion, Question 'who am I' is not actually a question. It is a feeling that you get when our mind is pure. And the answer to that is 'tat tvam asi' that you have referred. Other Important statement from the literature is 'Aham Bramhasmi'. I am still trying to learn more about this. Happy to know that such discussion is ongoing. This is 'Satsang'.
At molecular and energy levels, all things in the world are the same. They're the essence that this universe is made of. And they are also interchangeable, hence not 2 but 1 thing only. 🙏
At the molecular level things are extremely varied and different. The DNA molecule is not at all like plutonium. A newborn child is not at all like a tube of epoxy. A star's energy is not like a pencil. So no. The God of the universe as described in the Bible created all things. God and the things he created are not the same, and certainly not "one".

Thanks. Pragmatic words of wisdom regarding the nature of consciousness and the term was explained in simple terms of Advaita Vedanta. Much appreciated!
Peter Russell is brilliant at this, but it's the nature of this philosophy that makes it difficult to explain, for even language cannot define it completely, it can only be experienced.
At the 11 minute mark you speak of the enlightenment intensives of the 1980’s. These still happen and I have found them to be a great way to pursue truth,no guarantee of “enlightenment”, but it sure seems a way to accelerate understanding and possibilities you speak of. I am glad to hear another ( outside of the very unstructured “community” of seekers) acknowledge the process. Charles Berner, the one who invented-for lack of a better term- the EI process started a rather small but dedicated movement/gathering of like minded seekers that continues to the present. That would be almost 60 years if my math is correct. I have had the honor of meeting a few of the participants of the first of these and they wholeheartedly endorse the process for all of its possibilities to experience our true nature. It doesn’t by any means make your life or yourself perfect, but it has made life, with all its ups and downs more meaningful in so many ways. I hope this comment isn’t too much of a commercialization of this method but I seldom hear it ever spoken of but love it when I do.
The essence of the Present Silently fades away Into the din and the chatter About tomorrow And of yesterday. It's denied its own time, And denied its own space. Sent to retrieve past memories, Or directed to plan a future place. Yet this moment Is all that matters And now it's gone And there goes the next So do we exist at all When we ignore the Present We ignore our Best.
I dont know why are so difficult to live our present now, that would be much easier cause it something tangible than some illusion of tomorrow and illusion of yesterday. In some point in the human existence something went so wrong and continued it through life. Nobody was smart to grab it quick, it became virus humanity need to deal with, personally, nobody will cure your personal virus.
Thank you Peter Russell. Debate in itself is a form of dualism, and traps us in argument. I learned that from Marshall Davis, a nondual Christian pastor on another RUclips channel.
Thankful for this recommendation. Loved it as much as it brought respect for our own traditions and our ancient but the most advanced civilization because that taught humans to achieve their fullest potential.
Very well put up. "Who am I" sometimes exacerbate the very process of "Seeking". Indian wisdom therefore emphasize upon "the realm of experience". Tatvamasi and hence "Sarve-Khalu-Idam-Brahm" follows. Regards, Ashish - A seeker from India
@@srjadeja7837 That's a wrong interpretation. In our tradition Dharma means duty. Sanatana Dharma means Eternal or Universal Duty. The word ‘religion’ lies in the Latin word Religare, i.e "to bind together". It could be, I reasoned the story of the binding of Isaac. Abraham is the founder of biblical faith and he sets a model that is binding their own conduct, i.e., being willing to sacrifice own ambitions for what is ordained by God, which is very different from our tradition. So don't be confused about Dharma and religion.
We use words to communicate meaning from one person to another but the meaning of something exists on it's own before we put a word to it. In essence things exist or they do not so it is either uh-huh it does or uh-uh it doesn't in a state before words. Before words things are in a yes/no state. Sometimes we personally grasp a meaning perfectly but can't find the words to communicate it to others. That doesn't mean a person is stupid because sometimes when a thing is completely new the words have not yet been invented. Even when a word is made it's meaning must be socially or commonly agreed upon. Some meanings are beyond words and cannot be shared only personally known.
QUESTION: The purpose of meditation is to allow thoughts to settle out so intellect becomes quiet. Once thoughts settle, what is it that remains and is still observing, witnessing, "looking"? THAT is precisely the goal. The problem is objects (concepts, which are objects in themselves; i.e., "thinking"). Anything conceivable or perceivable is "object". Talking is the exchange of concepts (objects). Silence is , most certainly, GOLDEN... "When you give up thinking of outward objects and prevent your mind from going outwards by turning it inwards and fixing it in the Self, the Self alone remains." Ramana Maharshi
@@radientbeing Radiantly stated radiantbeing...! Not being conscious (or intelligent) in any way, reactionary intellect mistakes itself as being Aware; Consciousness is mysterious only to intellect. There is no difference whatsoever between ego and intellect; they are the very same thing; reactionary intellect is the problem and cause of all confusion, disappointment, frustration, sadness and suffering. Once there's genuine personal insight into this, Awareness/intelligence naturally takes over without any "thinking"/intellectualization necessary, it's practically a done deal and all that's necessary is further personal stillness, silence and patience. And that, is the True Nature/True Identity of "freedom", the acceptance of and surrender to Awareness (i.e., not intellect) is the only Authentic "how to" and the rest is only more intellectual/conceptual gibberish preventing what it seeks to discover. With this as the fundamental focus, meditation helps immensely. "What you are seeking is causing you to seek." Cheri Huber ⚡👍🥴⚡

Peter Russell's attempt to marry Western Science and Advaita/Non-duality is a fascinating and excellent effort to explain Advaita by using Western Science to do it (please keep reading). Not to say that he's being disingenuous, doesn't understand or is wrong but, the fact is that it's entirely impossible to explain Advaita/Non-duality with Western Science (which is entirely an intellectual pursuit). I'm sure Peter Russell also is fully aware of that. This particular video is only a 20 minute introductory type, a very tiny taste. Some might gain (some) real intellectual insight into Advaita/Non-duality from it (or at least "think" so), but very few do actually "get" it because it's an intuitive process that occurs on its own and as it will (kinda like a cat). It can't be 'made" to happen by intellectual means because, like meditation, it's not an intellectual endeavor at all. Peter Russell even tries to say something like that in this video. In a way, he even says that "getting" it has nothing to do with indirect intellectual information but he doesn't seem to emphasize it. Peter Russel is very obviously extremely well educated, brilliant besides and a great public speaker (I certainly wish I had those qualities). But, someone could take Advaita/Non-duality on a lecture tour and talk about it in intellectual detail forever and very, very few would/could go beyond that intellectual detail. It's just not something that can be studied and done checklist point by checklist point. They could "intellectually" comprehend it, but that's like being in the desert, dying of thirst and intellectually knowing what water is and even having a full color, life sized picture of it. But, still, they'd only have information and the picture. They wouldn't have the real personal experience of the real water which would be the ONLY thing that could save them, which means they'd still die of thirst. Trying to intellectually explain Advaita/Non-duality is like attempting to intellectually explain how to balance a bicycle to a four year old child. It's something that can only be attempted and done after showing the bike, demonstrating that riding it is possible and then turning the bike over to the child and saying, "Give it a try". After that, all the child can do is try it for themself until they "discover" it all on their own and "know" how (which is entirely intuitive, not intellectual in any way). I recall Peter Russell saying that it's extremely simple and he's 100% on that. But, it's so simple it can't be "figured out" intellectually. And, I'm sure Peter Russell knows that too. The problem is that we identify with objects which is everything in Existence and everything that exists (plus, Existence itself is an object!). The BIG QUESTION is who/what is observing all of the objects that the object of Existence is composed of, observing all that at once and how that occurs (which is precisely what "Who am 'I'?" and "I Am" is all about). And, BTW, in Exodus, Moses goes "up on the mountain" (meditation - anyone?) and asks God what He wants to be called (what His name is). God's reply is "I Am". So, Non-duality is "Not Two". It's just One Thing and that One Thing is Awareness (i.e., "I Am"). So, "Who am 'I'? IS "I Am" and that's the One Thing we all are, that everything is, that Existence is. No guru or teacher can "give" it to you, bestow it on you or sell it to you because you already ARE it always and forever. If there is only ONE, then Who is the guru? The guru is the same as you and you are the same as the guru. The only difference is that there are APPARENTLY two individual bodies with two different names and that confuses everyone into believing they're separate individuals (and all the problems that go with it). There is only One "you" and One guru (and neither is different). Check out Jiddhu Krishnamurti's 1930s speech disbanding the Order of the Star. And, here, have a cookie. You will forget all this. C'est la vie…(really)...
Very interesting and more or less accurate observation although I would like to differ on " 'Who am I?' *is* 'I am'" part. I think this is where non-dualism is fundamentally different from Monism. Monism says everything is one or everything is part of the same whereas non-dualism specifically means that though there are two separate entities but they are inseparable from each other. Neither can exist without the other. They are called by many names : shiva-shakti, yin-yang, object-observer. Sanskrit word 'Advaita' is actually a more accurate term to describe the idea. It is mistranslated to 'non-dual' but it actually means 'indivisible' or rather more accurately 'cannot be halved'. So although everything outside is very much real but it all arises because of the presence of the one who observes. Without the observer there is no object. Both come into existence at the same time. And each of them is as real as the other one. This is why Peter mentions that since everyone is a different observer therefore they have different observation of the same object. And ofcourse, in this non-dualistic reality, that is just my observation.
Lord Shri Krishna 8th Avatar of lord Vishnu 6000 yrs ago said in the battlefield of Kurukshetra,India "Without and within all beings the unmoving and also the moving; because of Its subtlety, unknowable; and near and far away is That( brahmAn )". --- Bhagavad Gita,Ch.13,Verses 15 "Om purnamadah purnamidam purnaat purnamudachyate, purnasya purnamadaya purnamevaavashishyate" "That (consciousness) is full (perfect) ; this (the manifest universe of matter; of names and forms being maya) is full. This fullness has been projected from that fullness. When this fullness merges in that fullness, all that remains is fullness."--- Isa Upanishad (5000 BCE ) hindu sacred scripture.. Science will take another 500 yrs to Understand Vedas and Sanatan dharma/Hinduism.
First of all, the Isha Upanishad is dated to period from around 500 BCE (by Budhists) to 800 BCE at the earliest (by Hindu scholars), so please stop making up BS.. There is no evidence of any upanishads from 5000 BCE! Second, these quotations make little to no sense. Vague, contradictory, and circular.. I much prefer logical scientific approach even to subjects like consciousness.
@Amit Mathur I'm not bickering. I'm correcting an exaggerated claim probably motivated by nationalistic pride instead of proper evidence. What "astronomical calculations" are you refering to exactly? Regarding the topic of the video - non-dualism - I don't know why he is calling it that way. What he's talking about is better described as "monistic idealism", a type of cosmology where there is only one type of "essense", i.e. consciousness, and everying is made out of it. I definitely disagree with it. The only logical conclusion is realism, an objective reality existing independent on observers, divisible into subjectively observable parts and everything else. Specifically I tend to agree with some concepts of platonic realism combined with modern physics and the anthropic principle. The closest I can get to this non-dualist worldview would be via some form of materialist pan-psychism. However this is very unlikely. There appears to be a clear cut between what is and is not conscious. There is a good reason why we are observing the universe from within our brains, and not for example from inside a piece of rock. From the philosophical perspective this guy doesn't offer anything new. He's making some trivial observations about "core sense of self" vs "personal identity" that have been made throughout various world philosophies ages ago (not only in India) and worked out in better detail since then. But he presents them in a very confused way and making non-sensical conclusions. For example that clay-consciousness analogy: "clay is always there, it's untouched by the 'potness'" ... "knowing the essense of clay you know the essense of all things made of clay" This is either A) nonsense, a logical and semantical error in thinking, or B) a botched analogy. If there is a pot, it means that the clay is shaped into the shape of a pot. By knowing the essense of clay you only know the essense of clay and nothing more. You know nothing about the various shapes which can be made of it. Drawing any conclusions from this analogy leads nowhere. Drawing a conclusion that the whole universe is made of consciousness (or only exists because of it) from a simple observation that there is some base "sense of self"? Religious nonsense. "essense... essense... underlying essense... know the essense" ... Vague, incoherent blabbering. "essense can't be defined or pointed to" ... But obviously HE CAN define it and make claims about it throughout the whole video. "Deepak" ... immediate woo woo alert. "relax and pause... sense of ease, stillness, spaciousness, clarity, contentment, lightness of being" ... Sounds like snake oil sales pitch. Yes, I can feel all of those things when I pause and relax. Not very groundbraking..
Wishing the speaker all the best on his journey, and hope he finds the amazing experiences in consciousness that first intuitively hoped for, until he was apparently beaten down by the nihilism of Buddhism and hopeful inconsistencies of Non-duality. If he believes " There's nowhere to go.....nothing to do.........no one to be........", why even leave the house to give this lecture? Was it a great urge that impelled him to venture out to inform his audience, who apparently attended his lecture seeking knowledge, that they basically wasted their time - by "seeking" anything from him or anyone else? Krishnamurti - "Don't believe or follow teachers" Krishnamurti Student "So why am I listening to you? To be balanced, there are measures of truth in Non-duality, Advaita-vada, regarding dismissing illusory conceptions, but nothing teaching about the positive side of the experience of loving exchanges with God and all creation - once the false-ego ("Ahankara" in Sanskrit) is removed and the pure spark of spirit is liberated in pure individual awareness, which happens by daily serving higher truth and by God's grace. Non-duality is too busy denying that creator God can exist separately, because that might create a duality. But there is non-dual variety possible in pure consciousness according to other Sanskrit texts. But such understanding, and a dynamic experience of personal loving exchanges with one's Creator, does not download to those cannot allow for anything greater than their own sense of self awareness, sympathized by "ahhhh" moments of a momentarily still mind, nor by concluding that one highest prospect is the understanding that one is just "the knower" - of non-dual nothingness or energy one may assume? Is there any love in this equation - or is love an illusory concept as well, since it takes two to tango? So it's either sitting in a sense of knowing, or the total self-deconstruction into an apparently admirable nothingness, which Buddhism advocates. I guess one can continue to seek those moments, in an un-seeking kind of way... But there are other options. Anyway, to each their own!
That is the reason why Hinduism is not just one philosophy. There are a bunch, and we follow them spiritually. Ultimately as mentioned in one of the Hindu texts, the God (or Brahman) is infinitely complex for us to grasp. For most humans, categorization into good and bad is necessary, but Hinduism says these categorizations are meaningless attributes of God. It will take humans more time to evolve to be happy with just “one philosophy”. No Hindu is going to debate you on your questions to be honest. If you are ideological, then we will debate you.
@@keerthisureshseelam ideology is your platform for debate? You can take shelter of ideology logic and jnana all you want but you will still not get the shelter of Godhead completely. What is debatable is your use of the words meaningless attributes of God. In your judgment something connected to God is meaningless? I understand in your philosophy that you think the personality of Godhead is also meaningless, meaning there’s only energy - there is no God in a personal sense - and that you will become that energy and equal to God in your own way over time. Many have taken that path, but it is always at the risk of returning to the cycle of birth and death to associate with people to grasp for some type of love - which is missing in Brahman realization.

@@GriuGriu64 Matter might not be the underlying objective reality but it is still a requirement for consciousness, for the subjective experience. General relativity still applies.. Any object which doesn't have mass (ie. is non-material) will necessarily move at the speed of light and it will not experience any passage of time due to extreme space-time dilation effects. It is the postulated Higgs field and the Higgs mechanism which gives particles their mass, and therefore the necessary condition for the subjective experience. I could agree with the idea of non-dualism (i.e. monism) to some extent. Ultimately the objective reality is just "one", universe = everything that exists, and splitting it into different objects is a matter of subjective perspective. Considering the objective reality, the subject-object dichotomy might be ultimately meaningless. BUT. That still doesn't mean that we can infer some "all-pervading" universal consciousness from the simple fact that we ourselves are having conscious experiences. All I can say is that I am conscious, and that other people (and probably some animals) are probably also conscious - and that there has to be some mechanism which makes that possible. It doesn't mean that the primary aspect or substance of reality is consciousness. That is an unsubstantiated claim. In fact almost the exact opposite seems to be true. It would appear that most things and places in the observable universe - almost 100 % - are NOT conscious. Only a tiny sliver of reality is conscious (the matter in our brains) and due to anthropic principle we will necessarily find ourselves in those places, however rare they are.
Quantum physics points to the cosmic consciousness underlying this material universe....OM is that underlying infinite intelligence called the essence within
People generally have a very poor understanding of what the word 'infinite' actually means.. This is not any kind of 'fault', but just that we have evolved within the confines of what appears to be a finite environment, and we thus try to look at things in finite ways, also justifying those 'finite' thoughts. When I first approached the 'problem' I had the same difficulties, so it takes our minds a lot of effort to reach another perspective of understanding, but it IS achievable.. Firstly, there cannot be more than one 'instance' of infinitude, otherwise a secondary 'thing' would render them both 'finite'. So we are describing a 'oneness'.. Also, it can have no 'beginning' nor 'ending' as these would also necessitate a secondary 'thing' (or the utter nonsense of a 'nothing'!), so we are describing 'eternity' when we apply 'time' concepts. Then, we have to admit that it can only be the one thing that interconnects all other 'things', and we deduce this to be 'Space', necessarily.. So, in terms of 'numbers', infinitude can only ever be 'one'.. ('Non-duality') All references to 'size' or 'direction' do not apply to the nature of infinitude, and thus have no relevance to our understanding of the true nature of existence. 'Measurement' has limitations.. When we point to any position in Space, we effectively create a 'beginning' to any subsequent forms of measurement, which only has relevance to the entity desiring to understand said 'measurement'. Measuring things does not make them a main-feature of the nature of reality, only a desire of 'measurement' from a purely Human perspective. 'Math' is another finite aspect, and so has limited usage. It helps us to describe specific positions and calculate certain desirable measurements to ourselves, so that we may use finite reference points, but it breaks down at the level of describing a necessarily infinite reality. Thus, as it is with our 'senses', we need various different kinds of understanding, all working in tandem with each other to produce the 'bigger picture', and we have philosophy and psychology, arts and 'mysticism'/intuition, among others, evolved for this task. However, because we live in an 'expert' driven society, all the 'senses/methods' are at war with each other, jostling for control, when the only true understanding occurs if we emulate nature itself, and work from a foundation of wholeness.. Within infinitude everything appears to be at the 'centre' of that which it finds detectable ('observable').. So, the moment you create the perspective of a 'centre', you become that centre..Here we can find the real problem with using 'mathematics' as a tool for understanding infinite nature. We have to firstly posit the 'points' to be 'measured' in order for the measurement to take place.. And this is why we end up inventing 'things' that do not exist in reality from mathematical constructs that do not describe the truth about nature.. We might well say, "Where's the science?" And because of the current collective psychology of Humans, we find it buried very deep, out of view..But like the most precious diamond, it still exists.. "Commendation from NASA for research work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology on the Earth's atmosphere and the Moon's surface for navigation of the Apollo spacecraft to the Moon.. Dr. Milo Wolff has found the structure of the electron consisting of two spherical quantum waves, one moving radially outward and another moving radially inward. The center of the waves is the nominal location of the electron 'particle'. These waves extend infinitely, like charge force. All 'particle' waves mix and contribute to each other, thus all matter of the universe is interrelated by this intimate connection between the fundamental 'particles' and the universe. The natural laws are a direct consequence of this Wave Structure of Matter (WSM), thus WSM underlies all of science." spaceandmotion And then.. "What about 'god'?" All methods of attempting to genuinely understand must eventually lead to success, as long as we can whittle each aspect down to that which is necessary. In fact, it may well be that it is a requirement of genuine understanding to approach the 'Allness' of existential questioning from as many necessary aspects as possible, all things existent necessarily converging in truth.. The emphasis must be on genuineness and necessity, not on favouring one Human-invented method over another. When it comes to truth, the Human necessity is that we must 'be it to see it', for the very reason that we ARE 'it'.. The importance of the 'mystical' aspect Humanity carries within it, and so has access to, is not 'god' in its many guises, but the intrinsic aspect of infinitude.. 'God' has been our excuse for irresponsibility, leading to false 'authoritarianism', but the real 'enlightenment' occurs when we see how necessary infinitude is.. So 'god' has just been a vehicle, a carrier of genuine understanding, not the truth itself..Here is why our 'societies' eventually collapse due to corruption from within, because they are not founded on truthful understanding of how we exist.. And this is why there is no 'plan', because all possibilities (including 'patterns') MUST unfold, given an 'eternity' in which to do so..
You can never touch even the periphery of the Infinite without Sanatan Vedic Culture principles. Latter enlightens you - not materiastic approach of Science of modern scientists. 🙏 respect for highlighting Truth.
My understanding is that the greatest gift we have is that the world is meaningless ,there is no inherent meaning to anything The meaning we give to all things is what we receive from them. Peters equation ॐ=mc2 is really interesting. But I would suggest that Om is much more than Energy . We know that all matter is nothing but energy. It means energy is the subtle form of matter . Also, consciousness is the subtle form of energy. And this Om is the collectivity of consciousness, energy and matter, the reality, the truth, the god or whatever.
@@cbmcbm2845 When we think about this we want to see what we imply in here because we have two kinds of images of God that are implicit in all of these. God is creator or perfect. God understands is one kind of view. God in this view is separate. Yeah that He made the world that he understand this other right. Can the pot complain to the potter about his shape? Can the words i speak come back and complain about the accent in which i speak them? You follow? Why can the words complain to the potter or the words to the speaker? We are creating those words in the plastic formation and in a weird way it is one with them in one direction which you could not say in the other. So all of the negative here is useful. The words are not but the speaker. The speaker is more than his words. You see what i mean? The trouble with one with is that implies they are not. My words are less than I. They make the central of my being in some fashion. However i walked on after i said them and they kind of evaporate. down the line in term of sound, effect and everything else. when I make the pot the pot is none but me the words is none but me they have no independent reality. they have no being apart from God. The word "om" is the vibration of universe.

Hindu is not a religion or belief system. Hindutva and Hinduism are terms coined in modern times which misrepresents a group of people or a community.
There were people all around the world who have and have not realised 'The Singularity.' There are people still seeking 'The Singularity' in vain. One can never find 'The Singularity' till the time the seek it. Seeking means there is a seeker and the object or personality or knowledge or consciousness or the unknown which defeats the purpose of non-duality. Don't stress oneself with seeking.
However people from the subcontinent and around it passed on certain disciplines through oral traditions and written documents between guru and shishya to help achieve 'Singularity'
There are so many mystics and hermits in Asia and Asia-minor who are realised guru(attained singularity. There were many in the past too.

And the sanatana dharma has its roots in the Vedas, a collection of scripture that was cognized thousands of years ago by rishis, and in the sampradaya of Adi Shankara. But, gradually, the actual practice of this religion has shifted as aspects such as the caste system and lengthy puranas were added. Today, there is a set of holidays such as Holi and Makar Sankranti that I doubt come from the Vedic period, along with many specific beliefs in practices involving specific gods that I think came more from a desire for religious distinction than from the pure tradition of yoga and advaita vedanta. The philosophies of moksha, liberation, definitely predate the modern Hindu religion and are little understood today among practicing Hindus.

So much I have read, listen to, practiced and debated. Mr Russell next to Mr Tolle is the easiest for the ears and emotions for me (or, for us).

What is the ultimate Truth? When we look at the Cosmic Construction, trillions of galaxies dancing in space, we become speechless and almost silent. Where from everything has come in to existence, manifestation? Scientists, philosophers and mystics all have their own ways of understanding and defining the ultimate reality. Monastic vedanta is very convincing when it comes to define it. It is one without a second, it is Existence, Knowledge and Bliss,Brahman the Absolute. I appreciate Peter for speaking on Nondualism.

Everything is all part of a singularly, it's just our perception that makes us feel separate.
If we are all one consciousness, that would imply that the consciousness is simultaneously experiencing through all of us. But how does it simultaneously experience through us (many) if it is one. If it is simultaneously experiencing through us, wouldn’t that mean that we all should know what experience is happening in everything?

@@garrettdenny3643 The confusion is in identifying with and as anything perceivable and/or conceivable. Awareness is Absolutely Nothing and is not perception. Awareness is cognizant of perception. Perception is entirely incognizant of Awareness. Awareness has nothing to do with any of the perceptive functions of the mind-body organism bio-object (which also includes intellect - the false "I" that believes itself to be the "me" that is "you" and "I"). Self is "I Am", which is Being, which is Universal Awareness (i.e., The Universal Observer; The Universal Witness - which is "YOU") - which is observing the perceptions (and intellect) of the mind-body organism bio-object(s). Nothing which is is capable of being perceived or conceived is capable of making Self Realization occur, nor is anything like that Self. Self is already "doing" and "being" everything that is. So, as such, all effort to attain prevents the very experience "we" are attempting (personal Real-ization of Self). "We" only need to just QUIT TRYING, BE AWARE OF AWARENESS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE THROUGHOUT OUR DAILY EXPERIENCE, WANT PERSONAL SELF REAL-IZATION LIKE A DROWNING PERSON WANTS AIR AND "JUST BE". SELF IS ALREADY BEING (AND "DOING", IF THAT'S IMAGINABLE) WHAT'S NECESSARY FOR YOU AND "US" EVERYWHERE TO PERSONALLY BE AWARE OF IT (I.E., "ONE"-NESS). THIS IS VIRTUALLY ASSURED FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF "US". STRUGGLING OF ANY KIND IS ACTUALLY FIGHTING AGAINST IT AND PREVENTING IT. This might have only added more confusion?

The essence of the Present Silently fades away
Into the din and the chatter About tomorrow
And of yesterday.
It's denied its own time,
And denied its own space.
Sent to retrieve past memories,
Or directed to plan a future place.
Yet this moment
Is all that matters
And now it's gone
And there goes the next
So do we exist at all
When we ignore the Present
We ignore our Best.
I dont know why are so difficult to live our present now, that would be much easier cause it something tangible than some illusion of tomorrow and illusion of yesterday.

Talking is the exchange of concepts (objects). Silence is , most certainly, GOLDEN...

For example that clay-consciousness analogy:
"clay is always there, it's untouched by the 'potness'" ... "knowing the essense of clay you know the essense of all things made of clay"
This is either A) nonsense, a logical and semantical error in thinking, or B) a botched analogy.
Well said 👏 👌
That is the reason why Hinduism is not just one philosophy.
It is a self centered, fatalistic, vegetative, non productive philosophy of life.

Quantum physics points to the Cosmic consciousness underlying this material universe !
I don't think so.
Quantum physics points to the cosmic consciousness underlying this material universe....OM is that underlying infinite intelligence called the essence within
Beautiful concept which is not understood by many .....thank you for sharing this indepth knowledge
('Non-duality')
All references to 'size' or 'direction' do not apply to the nature of infinitude, and thus have no relevance to our understanding of the true nature of existence.
The natural laws are a direct consequence of this Wave Structure of Matter (WSM), thus WSM underlies all of science."

And then.. "What about 'god'?"
All methods of attempting to genuinely understand must eventually lead to success, as long as we can whittle each aspect down to that which is necessary.
What a wonderful presentation. Thank you, Peter! I'd read the story, but you delivered it in such a relatable manner. Namaste.
You can never touch even the periphery of the Infinite without Sanatan Vedic Culture principles.
Latter enlightens you - not materiastic approach of Science of modern scientists.
🙏 respect for highlighting Truth.
My understanding is that the greatest gift we have is that the world is meaningless ,there is no inherent meaning to anything
The meaning we give to all things is what we receive from them. We are that powerful...
There is no one truth in which to measure all truths if that was so,there would only be one person
Everything exits now, no such thing as non existent . Non existence if filled up with everything that doesn't exist!
Tee hee.. 💓. 🌹
Excuse me, but there is nothing in science which claims matter is nothing but energy.
