..thanks for uploading this John, studying a solo like this really gives you an insight into how Johnny Sco develops an improv over a static root type of groove, exploring a lot of different tonalities on the way..good stuff brother
It's such great language isnt it . Shame the guitar isnt louder on the original recording . Hearing it like this makes you realise how tough Sco was playing at the time. Some of Dennis Chambers best playing too this one
awesome man, I WORSHIP sco. I have seen him play protocol live in the '90's and it was quite a spectacle to behold. Very well done, great tone and accurate score, my HUGE COMPLIMENTS brother!
Yes that’s what I was thinking. There’s a specific bassline for the melody that is hard to specify scale but it starts on G and sounds like G diminished or G7#9

Thank you. That's why I wanted to learn this one, and also share the notation so we all can learn from it.

That’s awesome to have seen him back then. Jealous! Thanks so much
Absolutely awesome. Wow We celebrate you Sir🎉
so good !!!!!!
the solo reminds me of R ford, used a lot of those mechanisms w/YJ. Listing the scales is a cool idea
Yea some similar diminished lines right? I can hear that. I’ve been checking out some Ford lately
Very nice
Big thanks for your work!
It’s my pleasure! Thanks for watching !
Fantastic playing like a prof!!
what?
Nice Job, bro 👍👍👍
Prime Sco:). great job!
Thank you. Prime indeed 🙌
Damn it John thanks for the chord brackets up top. Gone have my 12 yr old practice this and so much easier to explain it now.
Wow serious?! Some kid 😅
cool
One of the coolest tunes/recordings ever! Fantastic playing, too! [Is a pdf available for purchase??] Thanks for posting!
I will send you the pdf. Email me guitarmageddon1@gmail.com
Great playing. Do you sell your transcriptions? These would be great for sight reading.
I don’t sell them. But if you send me an email I will be glad to send you a copy. Guitarmageddon1@gmail.com
Man, what a great solo and great transcription!
since a long time on the web ;-)
sick
Bad ass
Thanks 🙏
👍👍👍😇
Awesome-what's the underlying harmony? A sort of static G7#9 or is it more vague than that neither stated as major or minor, just a G tonic/root?

@@johnmorrisonguitar Right, yes, thanks for the reply, great job on the transcription and performance.
Great album
Nice tone - what effects you using? Rat with very low gain and a boss chorus?
Thanks 🙏 Boss chorus yes. Not a rat but it was either Plim soul or Mini ts9. Also got the analogman compressor and EP booster
Great stuff ❤ glad others love this music 🙏 Scofield with MMW is my favorite, checkout A Go Go album🔥
Amazing!! Can I ask what year and model is your 335? Thanks.
Thank you! It’s a 2018 Memphis figured antique walnut
