Loving the adventure. Every stop every broken charger every meal …. Especially pizza…every turn and of course every ferry is all part of the adventure even looking up chargers makes it a hoot. I am surprised at how many are off or not working. I liked the hanging tree one that was very sketchy. Great way to go around the world. Enjoying all the videos. Mud Volcanos were kinda cool. And the odd tire wear on Eve’s front is called cupping its really common. All my bikes do it. Nothing too bad but you sure will notice the smooth ride when you get new tires. Marc, it's funny on one hand you say I miss being on stage and then you say I'm not used to being around people. Enjoy yourself man, looks like it was a great day. Thanks to the guy that invited you, it was nice of him.
I did half of your tour today (167km) from Dresden to Königs Wusterhausen for my first inspection in Berlin. And I noticed I still need far more stamina to do this in one go. (Did a break halfway but didn't need to charge :D) The mud volcano was kinda anti-climactic. I hope you had fun at the meeting! :D I don't think I could do that as an introvert... Safe travels!
You are doing really well Marc, you make so many good Utube updates it's hard to keep up! 🙂. Only problem I find is if I have not watched them for awhile, it's hard to know the order which you completed them?
Last Friday I was riding my motorcycle in the downtown core of Toronto when a guy on a bike (had to search the internet) that looked like a Surron (this had pedals). My motorcycle is 110hp and his electric bike from the stop light was much quicker than my motorcycle it really blew my mind that he was in traffic with no helmet or license plate and still could ride because it had pedals. I'm really considering moving to electric from watching these video's and hope the prices come down for the quality bikes like Marc is riding. I did enjoy the "can you rev it?" LOL
@@MarcTravels LOL, saw two different emojis for the volcano's, those you see when the message pops up and the one when you're in RUclips. I had to zoom in because I couldn't determine them. They really suck 😂😂
I’m in bed sick and catching up with your videos, I have recommended your channel to two friends, also bikers like myself. I have downsized from a bandit 600 to a Royal Enfield meteor 350, which puts a smile 😃 on my face .
Wait up: You are a rock band drummer? Are there any videos of you in action with the band. Love to see that. If you'd gone through the disinfectant spray slower, would Eve had a ride through wash? Another great video Marc, many thanks. (BTW I use Itchy Boots videos as the unit of measure and you are definitely up there. Praise indeed)
Ha! I gathered you'd been involved in music from earlier videos but didn't realise you were a fellow drummer as well as e-biker. 👍😁 I don't think you'll damage the battery. I got home on 0% on my former Zero DSR a handful of times and I can't say I noticed any deterioration in range over the five years I had it. Occasionally, it's probably good for cell balancing to take them down low and to fully charge. It's only likely to be an issue if you left it too low or fully charged for too long. As you say, empty isn't really empty and fully charged isn't really fully charged anyway.
Draining the battery to 0% won't hurt it, as long as you don't leave it like that. Same with charging to 100%, as long as you start driving/riding right after, it's fine. It's only when you leave the battery at 0%/100% for a period of time, that it starts to cause increased degradation to the battery. I don't own an electric motorcycle (yet!), but I do own two EVs -- 2023 Tesla Model 3 and a 2016 Nissan Leaf. I also own a bunch of electric rideables like an electric skateboard where I constantly run the batteries down to empty on backpacking trips, but I charge them back up almost right away so its fine Let me know if you come to Canada and plan on passing through Ontario! I'll free up a week and let you check out my EVs & my electric skateboard, electric dirtsurfer, electric raft, electric rollerblades (yes those are a thing), or if it happens to be winter, my electric snowboard!
I do not think you will damage the battery. Also there is a "spare percentage" always left in it, so you can do another 3 kilometers maybe? Can't wait to see the footage from the motorcycle gathering...Keep running!
Nissan Leaf does 10 miles after hitting zero on the guesseometer. After grinding to a complete halt with a “totally” flat battery it charged normally. There is a built in reserve to protect the battery from over discharge damage. I think this is standard across EV’s.
Seems in a region you don't know, the time looking for chargers would be nearly the same as for gas stations... (Though still a ways to go for the infrastructure to catch up with petrol, which has had 100+ years head start on stations!)
Yeah people should always consider, what I do is not the norm. I travel so much and this is why it seems to be a struggle when it’s really not much worse than finding gas when you’re in unfamiliar areas 🤙🏼
At the mc-meet u parked beside a Sur-ron light bee X. (Mix between electric bicycle and motorcycle) I got two of those riding in the woods with my son and others. Alot of fun. 😎
When you arrived at the meeting venue, seen first the black dressed guys with dark hoods covering entire Face, I was thinking the next what they would say to you is: Entering the Club, means leaving the title of your bike on the table. It’s a custom thing you have to do in Motorcycle Club with such dark man looking.
today I did not hear wolves howling, but today my Motorbike engine was screaming it out with pleasure at 12k revs. Now for the first time on a multi day trip with little more baggage room to fit anything more than a toothbrush. But heck it is a nakedbike…. 4 days in and having a blast. Visited Poland for the first time and the stretch from Czech republic was great with fantastic curves descending from the Reisengebirge. Me and my bike felt truly in their element there. Am now in Breslau and will start my way back into the Eifel from tomorrow.
thats why its good to check range after 0% in controll environment - in energica ss9+ (21,5kWh) i made 24km after 0% (max speed was 70-80kmh and I was riding about 60-70kmh)
Marc, I run Metzler 50/50 adventure tires on my Harley-Davidson Pan America. They are a German tire that are great on gravel and pavement. I get good mileage with them. In the Western United States 600 miles a day of riding is not uncommon. My Metzler tires really do the job. Another long lasting tire is the American Dunlop Trail Max 50/50 tire. An excellent on and off road tire.
I think Dunlop motorcycle tires are japanese now. I've not used the dual sport ones but my experience with their standard D404 tires was pretty lackluster. Pretty much every other brand of tire I've used was better. Now that sumitomo owns them, perhaps they are better. Or maybe the D404 range is just crap. They've been the stock tire on 3 previous cruisers I owned. Couldn't wait to swap them each time 😂
It's a bit disappointing with some of the charging companies not giving feedback on state. It seems possible to ride a something like a large GS with a peanut tank and small fill hose around Europe and dipping into Africa.
Don't be afraid of bears, just carry an axt. You split the bear's skull with it. You got 3 options, you miss, then you die, you hit the spot, you die and the bear dies, you are lucky, only the bear dies. Good luck to you.😁😁🥰😇
So I recently moved and have lots of chargers around me so of course I had to go around and try them out :-) 3.5 hours of riding and 1.5 hours of charging. My path was charger to charger and was still scenic when traveling. I have a Zero S though so only a 7.2Kwh battery. I spent about 15 minutes at each spot, walking around, and checking out my surroundings. It was a good day. I could've charged half as much and been fine. All 5 chargers I tried work as they should so that was cool. I think the question of how much time you spend looking for a charger is valid, someone would find that helpful info. I spent 30 minutes looking overall but I would've spent that figuring out where to go anyway.
Alright, I spend way less time looking but I am also not charging as much, rarely more than once a day. It’s a matter of minutes in my case. I found myself taking longer to choose when there’s a lot of options. In Tunisia it’s a no brainer cause there’s just that one option every day 😉
Marc, you're on a pretty big stage, called RUclips. Unless you played Wacken, I don't think you'll find a larger audience. Maybe you're missing the direct interaction, but I don't think you'd like a group ride with the 50.000 of us.
That question about (how much time?) was definitely a leading question 🤔he was hoping you would say 3 hours or something like that and then he would say... Ohh that's 12hours a month of your life wasted looking for chargers. 🤦🏻♂️Just trolling you! I have known many bikers to run out of fuel before getting to a garage so just ignore leading questions like this 😎 I know it's hard when your a good guy to your followers but it happens. If someone keeps making sarcastic comments just block them. We don't need negetive people in our lives 👍... Harry
Yeah that’s why I mentioned it in the video, I never know if it’s leading or sarcasm…it’s really hard to tell, especially when no name or picture. I think he commented though and said it was an honest question, I believe it 🤗
Haha, ich kenn das, wahnsinnig viele Leute brauchts für mich sicher auch nicht, dennoch ergeben sich dann manchmal trotzdem interessante Begebenheiten ;-)
Hello Marc, please don’t get offended with my question. Trust me it’s all love I am the same guy that commented last week about you doing a live chat. Call me CJ. I’m also an adventure rider and I’m just curious by asking these questions because I can never see at least I don’t think so, see myself trading my combustion powered motorcycle for an electric. But it is a genuine question. What’s the closest guess that you can tell us? How much time do you spend charging your motorcycle plus also looking for a charge port. In one week just want to know.
Hey cj, it’s still impossible to give you an answer because it’s different every day, every country and all depends on how far I go and where I go. For example, in Tunisia there was just a few stations and I see everything on my map, not much to choose from means there’s zero time spent on deciding which I am gonna take. Some days I don’t even need one. So yeah on a day I need a charger, it’s a few minutes to look for them on my maps and decide which one I want to take. The process repeats if the one I choose Isn’t working. Like I said in the video it’s never gonna be hours in week🤙🏼
"When you fly drone, do you report every flight before using the drone, or do you just launch the drone and start recording? If you don't report the flights, have you had any issues so far?"
@@MarcTravels Why am I asking? For example, in Croatia, every flight needs to be reported through an mob app to the agency responsible for that. So, you can't fly drone without registering the flight with the agency. Additionally, the flight recordings need to be sent to another agency for approval before they can be published. It's quite complex. Obtaining a permit to handle drone and having liability insurance for the drone are also required (similar to annual vehicle insurance for potential damages).
That disinfection station is likely to achieve absolutely zero, other than annoying motorcyclists. I presume pedestrians/cyclists do not have to endure it.
I’ll be honest Marc and you need to be honest with yourself, the whole charging situation is a pain in the butt, never mind the range anxiety. But it definitely is starting to become annoying listening to you trying to convince us it’s as easy to travel by electricity as it is with a petrol bike, that is simply untrue and you know it. Really enjoyed your earlier videos when it was more about where you would visit and less about charging points
Nothing I do is easy for a normal person! I’m aware of that and I wouldn’t wanna convince anybody to do what I do cause it’s hard work! Thanks for pointing it out again mate, glad you enjoyed the good old days, unfortunately for you i moved on to something else. All the best for you 🤙🏼
@@MarcTravels is zero at least providing some sort of sponsorship or back up 🤷♂️ if they aren’t more fool you. You really shouldn’t assume your viewers don’t know how hard travelling can be, as some of us have travelled to. You made a very good point Mate you have moved on 🤔 I think it’s time I did as well 🤔🤔
@@slackJocks i assume you film every day of your life while traveling and put it into nice little movie for others to watch (free of charge) only to afterwards tell you what you should or shouldn’t do. Well i guess you know how comments like yours make me feel 🙌🏼 here’s something for on the way mate: if you don’t have anything nice to say to a stranger, just don’t!
@@MarcTravels I’m not that up my own butt Mate to film what I do every day 🤷♂️ and to say say it’s free is also not being truthful as your constantly looking for people to send you money. If travelling is so tuff why do you do it also you should look at itchy boots Chanel that way you might learn not to be such a winger, keep reminding yourself Mate ffs your doing something that most people would love to be doing 🤷♂️ so put a smile on your face Mate and get on with it and stop looking like a slapped ass 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
No offense, but you really looks like as a getting introvert by the lonely road, just talking to the camera, but I hope you could relax and make some friends! You also look like more and more as Forest Gump when he run for a year or so :)
Your videos contain many interesting experiences off the tourist track. But unfortunately, detailed reports about the problem of charging your motorcycle are repeated every time. I wouldn't enjoy it as a motorcyclist. So you fast forward the video and are happy if you report about something else. Greetings from your follower.
Yeah as it is part of my day, before people complained about the gas station stops 😅 it’s weird that in my statistics I can see people actual skip to see the charging problems if they occur 😅 can’t make everyone happy I guess. Luckily it’s for free 😮💨
I can’t understand why anyone would buy these electric bikes, complete waste of time , so much wasted time looking for a charger and takes ages to charge ,

Maybe you're missing the direct interaction, but I don't think you'd like a group ride with the 50.000 of us.
I played wacken 2014 i think 🙌🏼 it was amazing 🤩
Looks like Hells Gate Rotorua New Zealand
Yes 🙌🏼
I think he commented though and said it was an honest question, I believe it 🤗
@@MarcTravelsyes true... if it's honest, it's fair and a welcome question 🤗
Are you sure it was a wolf howling?
Yeah what else would howl like a wolf 🐺
@@MarcTravels - a vampire?
Hey Marc,
Typically how much distance do you cover each day, how many hours of riding on the road?
it’s different every day
So it must have a built in reserve at zero?
Yeah I think so!
Start a lil donation for reverse and every time you use it flash up a random handle for someone who donated 😂
Never will I buy that ridiculously overpriced reverse gear 😂
Haha, ich kenn das, wahnsinnig viele Leute brauchts für mich sicher auch nicht, dennoch ergeben sich dann manchmal trotzdem interessante Begebenheiten ;-)
Absolut 🤗
Do i see here out of comfort motorcycle rider that's just come out a cave. 😂😅. Be chilling drinking loads mate and you survival 🤣
I’m not doing well with crowds 🫣
0.06 looks like a map of Africa and Saudi.
Marc stepping on a tyre like that is because of incorrect suspension setting
I heard it’s very common with those tires 🤙🏼
No issues because I operate according to drone regulations and got my easa certification, flying registered and marked drones👍🏼 cheers
Not to disparage Mari, but when you’re solo, it appears you open up the cycle more (increased speed). Then again, it could be your editing.
Yeah sure with the jimmy we are not driving as fast🤙🏼
@@MarcTravels - same with me when the wife is not in the car.
Toot toot 😎😎😎
Toot.. Toot!
Soon 🔜🙌🏼
Little intimidating turning up to a meeting with strangers when the others are in balaclavas. The guys should of removed them when you pulled up.
They were super friendly 🤗
That disinfection station is likely to achieve absolutely zero, other than annoying motorcyclists. I presume pedestrians/cyclists do not have to endure it.
It’s just ridiculous 🤣
Good decision not to bring the camera when socialising. Its different.
Yeah it’s weird 🤗
@@MarcTravels as for your advice if you don’t have anything nice to say to your followers DON’T say anything 🤷♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
No offense, but you really looks like as a getting introvert by the lonely road, just talking to the camera, but I hope you could relax and make some friends! You also look like more and more as Forest Gump when he run for a year or so :)
Yeah just be driving instead! I like the beard 🧔♂️ Maree not a big fan though 🫣
I can’t understand why anyone would buy these electric bikes, complete waste of time , so much wasted time looking for a charger and takes ages to charge ,
Isn’t it even worse watching someone do it on RUclips? Massive waste of time really
Did this same ride in 98, and revisited back in late 2012. Wouldn’t ride yours though. What a horrid motorcycle you have.
Why would you say that? I don’t come into your house to tell you your motorcycle sucks, or do i? Very rude
