I feel like the 9 Sols are going to be darker reflections of both Yi and Kua Fu mainly because of them having troubled pasts full of hardships and struggles, and probably groomed by the head of the Council into rulers of their respective regions in New Kunlun when she rercruited them.

I doubt the gravitational balancing system of the island would still be intact after the destruction and the remnants of the island would have definitely been shredded by the sheer gravitational force of the star.
