I disagree with the car thing, I bought a car brand new and have put 170k miles on it doing gig work. If you buy a used car you never know how the previous person took care of it and it could cost you big time with repairs
For example I can make 5 deliveries straight and my acceptance rate stays the same. I miss 1 delivered and it goes down a percent. Can anyone explain this too me?
I use a truck for doordash and it’s not ideal but it’s a V6 so i save on gas and the payments are the same as a Honda Civic, I also feel like the value won’t depreciate as much since it’s a truck. But I definitely should have purchased a Tesla or Prius, it was a dumb decision on my part.
I don't agree with the no new car. You almost have to start with a newer car if you doordash consistently. Trade at 30,000 for a newer one again, keeps you on the road
I've had nothing but shit service and drivers literally standing at my door demanding MORE. I tip accordingly but it's never enough for some people.....So now I just use Walmart+ and eat at home, especially with today's fast food prices.
Wow I must be In a shitty market I don't except less than 25 cents a mile to the restuarant 75 cents from the restaurant from to the house and I add a dollar on top and I still decline orders all day long For example 5 mile order 1 mile to the restart $1 for the order 25 cents to drive there $3 to drive from the restaurant to the house that's only $4.25 for a 5 mile order and if it's a grocery store order it goes up to the $1 per mile and I don't except any orders under $3.25 that's my minimum gas is only $2.50/gal if it goes back up to $3 or more ill increase my milage to 50 cents there $1.25 on delivery
For the brand new car rule, I’m debating on that, because I literally just got in an accident in my 2010 Honda Accord last week, waiting to hear back if they’ll total it but I have a business I’ve been trying to start up and have been doing doordash to help on the side, honestly if they total my car, I might just take that payout and invest some of that money towards my business and see where it takes me, or I could use part of that payout as a down payment towards a newish used vehicle like a 2017 Toyota or something with good gas mileage where I don’t have to worry about breaking down, I think having more cash available to invest would help instead of throwing it all into an older car I’d have to buy outright.
New car warranty - low gas - pay off 3 years. Trade it in 3 years. Car is a tool not an investment. Best to have tools that don't consistently break down. If not new don't get a car older than 1 or 2 years old and with low miles. Dashing in a beater just asking for trouble
He didn't say anything about a beater and if you do the math even with claiming that vehicle under your 1099 self-employment you're losing money I guarantee you
Don't forget that when calculating make sure you double the miles because you have to drive to AND from the drop off location and depending on where you are at this can be absolutely lethal in terms of your income.
Number four if you find deals on rental cars use it up. For example Friday through Monday you get good deal sometimes as low as$70. I run that mother like a f***** I have to work day night for those 3 days and I get my money's worth! And you give your old baby a break 😘🥰
Some days when I don’t accept deliveries that are unacceptable, maybe 4 or 5 in a row, I notice Doordash will make me wait longer for a run. Is that something they will do?
@@elbernecurry1702 Rather wait though. It’s wait or give the service away for free. I’m not in business to make money for Doordash alone, no way! Not to mention, if a person wants to get served, it goes both ways… Or get it gear, and get it yourself. 😎

Rune number one. If it is BBQ then the food is worth keeping. No need to waste yout own money on dinner...
For example I can make 5 deliveries straight and my acceptance rate stays the same. I miss 1 delivered and it goes down a percent. Can anyone explain this too me?
Watch my long videos
I accept 5 dollar ones all the time . Less than mile delivery. That's 20 an hour while others wait or have to drive longer
That’s exactly how I think. Especially if it’s busy. While People at work during lunch hour.
Also don’t drive luxury car for food delivery. Maintenance cost basically doubled.
💯💯
Now he just gave you all the “Game” take heed.
👍👍
I like sitting in lines for DoorDash personally gives me enough time to break down a swisher or white owl and roll one up.
😅😅🙌

I’m 2 deep 2 hours in to a 12 hour shift. Made around 35$ already
I don't take orders on the LV strip, it is a nightmare to navigate.
👍👍
Good advice...
Thanks 🙏 sis
Only time I accept a $4 order is if it’s going to a hospital near by. Usually it’s 1-2 miles.
👍👍
But do you have to deliver it to a hospital room on the 6th floor?
@@larryc1616 Not usually, since Covid most of my hospitals have shelves to put them on near the security desk
#4 Do not drive an SUV. Gas cost is a bitch.
I drive 100 miles/day and only spend $20 on gas.
Thank you for these tips. Would I be able to see the mileage before I accept.
Absolutely
I won’t accept an order if it’s less than like $1.75 per mile. $1 per mile is terrible imo.
👍👍
@@SideHustleAddict Great video by the way! Good tips. I’m a new dasher.
Truth literally
Absolutely
I use a truck for doordash and it’s not ideal but it’s a V6 so i save on gas and the payments are the same as a Honda Civic, I also feel like the value won’t depreciate as much since it’s a truck. But I definitely should have purchased a Tesla or Prius, it was a dumb decision on my part.
Depreciation on an asset used for work is a tax break.
Yep
I don't agree with the no new car. You almost have to start with a newer car if you doordash consistently. Trade at 30,000 for a newer one again, keeps you on the road
Thanks 🙏
Np
I've had nothing but shit service and drivers literally standing at my door demanding MORE. I tip accordingly but it's never enough for some people.....So now I just use Walmart+ and eat at home, especially with today's fast food prices.
Thanks for paying my bills
I'm not using doordash anymore after this!
100% on the nose.
Nailed it.
@robert 🙌🙌🙏🙏
What about your acceptance rating? Doesn’t this effect how many higher paying orders you get?
I multiapp
Great point and don't accept shop and delivery.

Wow I must be In a shitty market I don't except less than 25 cents a mile to the restuarant 75 cents from the restaurant from to the house and I add a dollar on top and I still decline orders all day long
For example 5 mile order 1 mile to the restart $1 for the order 25 cents to drive there $3 to drive from the restaurant to the house that's only $4.25 for a 5 mile order and if it's a grocery store order it goes up to the $1 per mile and I don't except any orders under $3.25 that's my minimum gas is only $2.50/gal if it goes back up to $3 or more ill increase my milage to 50 cents there $1.25 on delivery
👍
Will not be using door dash. Last delivery was driving a Mercedes sports model. Who are they kidding.
Good 👍
The only vehicle I have is new so no choice 🙃
I completely agree
Absolutely

how can you see the money before you deliver? for some reason i can not
I can
@@SideHustleAddict thanks for the possible solutions rlly helps!
I saw an order for $2.75 for 14.3 miles 😂😂😂
😂😂🙌
I had one order 2.50 for 0.7 mile
Thank you for the advice
Thanks buddy
I got 2 out of 3, my car is new but i bought it with the intent of driving until it dies so loosing value isnt a big deal for me.
Great outlook. You should also look into turo, put that bad boy on there when you are ready to upgrade to another car. Keep stacking those assets !!
What if you have a Tesla? Wouldn’t it make more sense to drive those since gas price is a bitxx? Got to put that EV to work.
New car warranty - low gas - pay off 3 years. Trade it in 3 years. Car is a tool not an investment. Best to have tools that don't consistently break down. If not new don't get a car older than 1 or 2 years old and with low miles. Dashing in a beater just asking for trouble
👌🏽👌🏽
He didn't say anything about a beater and if you do the math even with claiming that vehicle under your 1099 self-employment you're losing money I guarantee you
@@JohnNguyen-iw8qn you'll lose money having to constantly fix your shit car too. I dash in a cadillac. I get it like that.
Bingo
@@StartThenProfitINC Lmfao damn dashing in a Cadillac 🤣 I saw some drive a truck that the don't!!! You guy dash just to break even!! 🤣
Fuck I was taking a 4-5.00 for a mile or 2 and yeah shits like 30min of my time. Thnx brother now I know.
Absolutely 🙌🙌
Agree 100%
Absolutely
Don't forget that when calculating make sure you double the miles because you have to drive to AND from the drop off location and depending on where you are at this can be absolutely lethal in terms of your income.
👍
Number four if you find deals on rental cars use it up. For example Friday through Monday you get good deal sometimes as low as$70. I run that mother like a f***** I have to work day night for those 3 days and I get my money's worth! And you give your old baby a break 😘🥰
👍👍
Depreciation means nothing if the car is leased
Never lease a car to do gig
I have a brand new car with an unlimited warranty
Nice 👍
I have 100% acceptance rate I love the hustle and the app rewards me for it
Awesome 💯👍🔥
The app absolutely does not reward you for it.
You're either a under-reporting on your taxes or be a troll
Can you give some reward examples please?
I agree I accept it all just another day of work and it's not my main job! To each its on
@@kelvinstevenson8646 So you except a 12 mile order for $6 knowing that the round trip is 24 miles and about a gallon of gas?
Thanks.
🙏🙏
I've recieved add on orders for and additional $4 for less than 1 mile additional distance..is that still not worth it?
I hate those
Some days when I don’t accept deliveries that are unacceptable, maybe 4 or 5 in a row, I notice Doordash will make me wait longer for a run. Is that something they will do?
Probably
Depending on the market
Hell yeah they will make you wait longer smh
@@elbernecurry1702
Rather wait though. It’s wait or give the service away for free. I’m not in business to make money for Doordash alone, no way!
Not to mention, if a person wants to get served, it goes both ways…
Or get it gear, and get it yourself.
😎
