On a flight to Cebu, I met an American who was married to a Philippina. The next day, he picked me up and took me about 15 miles into the countryside. We turned off the road, and on 1 side were farms and the other was a area with about 50 nipa huts and a large 2 story house on the corner. It definitely stood out. While eating on the 2nd story patio, an older man sat there watching us the whole time. We walked a couple miles as a group to the river, through a town, and the older man followed us about 100 ft behind. When we got back. I asked about the older man and he said he was the town elder and he heard some Americans were visiting and because of him, nobody would bother us.

I met Chris about 3-4 weeks ago. He is a really nice guy. I was in Valencia looking for rentals and was reading the sign on his neighbor's property when he came out of his house and waved me back as he thought I was someone else he was expecting. We chatted at his gate and then he invited me in for a house tour and told me all about his interesting past career going after Pablo Escobar. Interesting guy!
After a week in Dumaguete & Valencia my wife, 4-year old son, and I decided to move on and took the ferry to Dapitan Mindanao to check out other areas and we both did not like Cagayan De Oro and then we went to Malaybalay which is only 2-hours away from CDO and we loved it here as it is 633 meters above sea level and the temperature is PERFECT with a nice cool climate and really no need for A/C. A nice provincial type town with no real traffic and food prices are much cheaper.
We just ordered a GO-PRO camera which will be here in a couple weeks so I will be setting up my own YT channel soon about life in Malaybalay for anyone interested.

Great looking house Chris. Moving to the Philippines from Texas later this year. I'd be interested in the blueprint if available. Also, good to hear that you know Jesus.

His house slopes down from the main road. Does the property have a problem with ponding or flooding???

Clickbait! People watch home tours in the Philippines to find out the building cost and what is possible on their budgets. The video should be retitled.

Good interview and viewing of the property. Im currently here in PI but cut short my trip due to diificulty accessing funds and using my debit and credit cards. Always declined. Made a mistake of wrongly replying to a sevurity question and begged for the card company to reverse block, however policy is to issue replacemet card. Not ready to give up 100% living in the US but might just divide my time for now until Im comfortable enough to settle here

The video was intended to be an interview but I was impressed by his home so added a tour. I don't know exactly what he paid but probably worth around $400k as it is now.

26 to 28 per square meter. Depending on the location 1000 to 15,000 a square meter for the property.
