    I had to fix both carbs on each of my two units they were actually lean probably due to emissions. I concur with the spark arrester fix too.

    Thanks for another great video, too bad it didn’t hit full 1.8kW.
    I definitely need to add magnetic dip sticks to my generators.

    Is it recommended to change the oil in 1 hour for the first run? If so do I run it by itself or with a load?

      @MR_Garage  22 дня назад

      I highly recommend changing oil after the first hour of run time. I would vary the load a bit, do not go much over 1000w and give the unit breaks from the load. DO run a magnetic dip stick.

    I would recommend just removing the spark arrestor. That will help the engine breathe a lot easier and run much cooler. If you're ever in a spot where you think you might need the spark arrestor (like a national park... only because it's required by law) you can reinstall it. But otherwise, get rid of that spark arrestor.
    I'm thinking that there might be a bad or at least subpar component in the inverter that is causing the dirty waveform... it would be interesting to see what the scope shows on another identical unit.
    I like your choice of oil. Mobil Delvac 1300Super is my flavor of choice, but these small engines really need the heavy duty oil. I run the Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 in my small engines that see winter use, but that said, I've never had a problem with using the 15W40 in the winter either.

      I don't disagree on the spark arrestor :) I just can't say it in my videos HAH! This is also why I prefer the single layer screen arrestors. They usually never clog and breath super easy.
      I wanted Dinking to offer another unit to test or at least speak to what was shown but they did not. They insisted it would get better with time. I have not run this generator in a while but need to get back to it and test more.
      You choose good oil too! HDEO's are so good in these small engines.

    Hello, which brand would you say is easiest to get parts for and work on? I am mostly interested in dual fuel generators. Thank you

    • @MR_Garage
      @MR_Garage  5 месяцев назад

      The easiest to work on that I have found are the senci made units like Heomaito. The part and part numbers are rather generic and can be traced back online rather easy (as with most of these import generators). But the ease of tearing them down is better than most.

    Nice little generator. For light weight and compact packaging they really push that little engine mostly with higher rpm’s. This will shorten the engine life and will likely be noticeable under heavy use. If engine performance was responsible for the lower output it would be interesting to try a lower viscosity oil and lower the oil level a bit. This usually increases efficiency and output. Thanks for sharing.

      Hello,
      Most of these little guys run around 4800RPM at full tilt - pretty common. With this unit, it never dropped RPM at max output which tells me engine performance was not responsible for not meeting spec. Never hinted at bogging down which tells the story of the stator / inverter in this sample, not being able to produce rated power. Lower viscosity oil would not play a part as it can reach full RPM and sustain full RPM at peak load without any issue. Engine has plenty of power.

    Too bad about the sine wave issue, even 1700 watts sustained would have been outstanding for a 30 lb generator that size. Wonder if they're all like that or if you got a lemon.

      Could be a lemon. I was bummed. Lots of other good 1800w choices out there however. But the 30lb weight was amazing.

      In parallel, two of these would be able to reach 28A maximum which is around 1700w each per this test sample.

      I bought 2 of these units in California lol on offer up brand new for 280.00 for both units. I made a harbor freight parallel kit work the terminals are different.
