Do you by any chance have any advice on how to do this but for someone who has bad anxiety? I find it difficult to leave the house to even see the few friends I do have, so even though I want to make more friends, I get stressed from leaving the house, but I feel like my lack of social connection is not good for my mental health. Also since Im a nerd, I usually make friends who have more nerdy interests but most nerds are introverts and also dont leave their house so how do I meet people Ill even like if I DO end up leaving the house? (Sorry for long comment!)

@@W_C_M Hi! My advice here (and take it with a grain of salt because everyone is different) would be to take baby steps!!
I would suggest making it a goal to go to a coffee shop alone just once one week. Then maybe twice. Just go with a book and headphones and see what it feels like to be in a different space - that way you’re not starting off by immediately trying to go to a new class or group event and put high pressure on the situation!
Sometimes even just being around others, even if it’s not fully engaging with them can be helpful - especially as a starting point 😊
As for meeting people you will even like - you might not for a while! It’s all about trial and error. And opening yourself up to experiences where you may or may not meet people you jive with! I think taking that pressure off will make trying new things easier. Just knowing it might not lead to new friendships but at least you’ll do an activity or volunteer for a cause you care about!! And in another scenario - you might meet new friends!
      I hope this helps!!
