  • These enemies and their location are a great reference and a funny gimmick, but actually brutally tough in a pair. This video demonstrates a viable way to beat them both fairly easily.
    Required Materia:
    -ATB Stagger
    -Elemental + One elemental spell
    -Binding
    -ATB Boost
    -Empowerment (helpful)
    The goal is to Sleep one and quickly separate the second one with an offensive spell and finish it off. This can be done by patiently countering it's normal moves, then taking ONE quick swing at it while it plays dead. it will get up and counter immediately, so roll away twice to dodge, then attack back in to Pressure and stagger it. If you get downtime between enemies like I did, use Bravery to make the second one easier.

    The way I did this was withoug bind materia. I invest all into ATB gain, MP up, and have fire +elemental on weapon and use healing circlet for more magiv and heal boost Auto Attack a locked in enemy with blade beam from range at the start of the fight, then cast fira b2b. By that time usually the enemy rushes. Be prepared to block the over head then counter with focused strike... wait and repeat. If he plays dead you can try attack and perfect dodge but its sometimes difficult. I found it safer to attack then block for the counter than focus strike to preasure and reach stagger state On the first enemy you should have enough to limit break. Try to have 2 ATBs ready so after the animation you can braver 2 and activate your heal midway the animation. Then rinse repeat on the other. Be aware though what the second one is doing all times. Its sometimes better eat a block and dodge take downs than riskit for the biscuit. I hope this helps people

    Good tip on using sleep, I used that and followed up with blocks, I found that soothing breeze can outheal the damage theyd do to you and will counter any attempted and binding as well. So if you are getting low on health use soothing breeze

      Yeah this battle can be a head scratcher due to these enemies being unpredictable by design. When I realized the flow of movements you need to do to isolate and eliminate them, I thought I'd upload for anyone who was struggling.

    Man these guys were really annoying for me. They kept running away and tanking hits.
    Also, I have to ask, where the hell did you get that Elemental materia??? I just started chapter 12 and still don't have one.

      Combat Sim challenge that you unlock for you doing most of Junon's Intel. It was there in the demo too. So you can first get it in chapter 4.

    I am getting really tired of enemies that just tank everything, and interrupt everything the player does. Its such a cheap mechanic. They grabbed me, in the middle of Braver.
    Also, annoyed that assess takes so long. I tried doing an assess and got tail whipped to KO.

    • @Ultinarok47
      @Ultinarok47  6 месяцев назад +2

      These guys are designed to be weird because they're a reference to a test/dummied enemy in OG that had no AI. These guys also have no AI until attacked. So you can assess them or do anything else to set up before attacking. They specialize in counterattack, so once they go aggro, let them come to you as I do here. Then bait them when they play dead and dodge away to avoid the counter, then strike back for a Pressure. They are tough enemies to pin down compared to most.

    Yo Ultinarok, I'm curious of your opinion on Enemy Skill. Since you were a big Enemy Skill fan in remake, what are your thoughts on it in Rebirth? Personally I think they did a great job. There are a lot more skills and they are all useful. You no longer need truckloads of ATB to make use of it either. I haven't unlocked all the skills yet so I haven't experimented much.

    • @Ultinarok47
      @Ultinarok47  5 месяцев назад

      I haven't quite moved into using E Skill full time just yet since I'm learning new characters abilities and Synergy skills first. I did make use of Sonic Boom and Plasma Discharge a fair bit during early game when fewer weapon abilities were available, but while I've learned every skill, I haven't actually used many of them yet. Need to do more labbing with that as a focus, which will be one of my preps for Hard Mode. Right now I'm learning how to reliably time Lucky Slots lol
      From what I see, a much better materia for sure. Trading Bad Breath for Putrid Breath seems like a good trade, although I'm sad about Algid Aura/Spirit Siphon being gone. I'd imagine it's better now with all the new skills, but I haven't tested them too much to say for sure. I'm not sure who would use the overall E Skill kit the best, but it might be Red XIII since just about every skill works fine with his playstyle and he doesn't focus on combos for his ATB use as much as Tifa, Yuffie or Cloud.

    • @Ultinarok47

      @BarretTheImmaculate Been going reallllly slow because of busy life stuff with my son and my friend, who I'm playing alongside and have been avoiding leaving in the dust. So I'm still on chapter 12 of Normal, but with 117 hours because I've done absolutely everything (and then some). I'm level 51 before Gold Saucer lol
      I've done almost all odd jobs and all world intel except Meridian Ocean. All Sim battles. Every minigame beaten with highest score. Assessing all enemies. Ive even beaten the regional boss intel 7 times each for 7 copies of the rare accessories. I like a slow burn on my first run of a new game if I love the game. I don't play new games very often and really milk the ones I do. My last one was Xenoblade 3, which similarly took me over 200 hours to actually complete the story for the same reasons.

      @BarretTheImmaculate Haha indeed! The goal is to enter Hard Mode with its unique prizes being the only things left to acquire. The game is reasonably challenging even on Normal so it's good practice to take my time too. I feel many people are rushing through quickly and not getting acquainted with each enemy before trying to tackle them on hard mode, or not sufficiently leveling their materia first, which is why they're struggling. I plan to enter Hard Mode at lv70 with all materia mastered and all non-Hard content done. It feels like these games' Hard Modes were designed for that.

    This is the worst fight, and so cheap. No matter how many videos I watch, the Test-0s don't behave like that for me. They're relentlessly throat clamping, running away, using magic and interrupting me. There's nothing to block, and I can't move fast enough to stay on them. I guess I'll come back when I'm higher level... so frustrating.

    • @Ultinarok47
      @Ultinarok47  5 месяцев назад +1

      They are very difficult to pin down without multiple tries. The key is to disable one with sleep and avoid attacking it while playing defensively with the other. Avoid and block it's attacks and wait for it to "play dead". When attacked, it will jump up and strike you, so do one quick operator slash to bait that, dodge away as quickly as you can, and if you succeed at dodging the counter, strike back right away. That pressures him, then he quickly staggers and you can use Prime Mode and Braver to take him down before waking up the other one. He's just very hard to pin down because his attacks are so fast.
