I love how in old movies they would dress up and go dancing on dates as a regular thing to do going out. My Grandma was born in 1930 and she said the movies were correct, they always used to dress up and go out to dinner clubs to eat, dance, and be entertained in the 40s and 50s. I think the idea of having structured dances that you knew, and listening to a band play dressed up on a warm summer evening like they used to do on a ballroom patio sounds heavenly! Would be so neat and so much fun! It is sad we don't dress nicer nowadays or dress up as often because it is a great way to show respect and make a moment a bit more special. Even if done in simple ways, it doesn't have to be overdone or super uncomfortable...just being a bit more dapper.
