This collection of love songs by some of the worlds greatest singing stars covers mans aspects of that most potent of emotions. The emphasis is on dreamy and laid-back ballads, though there is a sprinkling of more up-tempo numbers too; all for your listening pleasure.
The late, great Ella Fitzgerald contributes two numbers to this compilation, recorded ten years apart. Her warm, caressing tones are well in evidence on the stylishly arranged 1929 evergreen I’ve Got A Feeling I’m Falling, recorded some years before she became an international headliner (from the mid- 1950s) under the astute management of Norman Granz. From 1937, we have Ella in the company of The Mills Brothers in Dedicated To You, made at a time when she was the girl singer with Chick Webb’s band. But performances like this don’t date; the poise and professionalism were already there in spades. - Видеоклипы

only a dream come true...
POV:
I's 1942. You're sitting out on the porch, in a red rocking chair next to the radio watching your little one play in the yard. This is what's playing on the radio, and you're thinking to yourself how grateful you are to have what you have. You watch your 2 year old daughter run around in the yard, in her little yellow dress, picking flowers to put in a cup of water. Your husband comes home from work, and walks up the wooden, rickety steps leading up to the porch. He leans over and kisses you on the forehead. It's getting dark now, so you bring your little one inside. You walk into the kitchen to start dinner. while you're putting vegetables in a pot on the stove, and your husband grabs your hand, and turns you around, and you dance to the radio for a while until dinner is done cooking.
Some imbecile would say that is a kind of chauvinism, people need to say that lots of people want to live like this, and should be amazing just forget the world and stay with your loved.

Being a 40 year old woman who (along with her very lovely husband) living room-dances to this music and has a special place in our hearts for it, seeing there are "young people" (UGH-- I HATE using this term) who still appreciate it makes me hopeful for love and romance.❤️❤️
I love to play this playlist in the summer, sitting in my garden drinking a glass of wine. My darling elderly neighbors complimented me on my musical taste, and told me they greatly enjoy when I play it. That’s a beautiful story
Everyone in the comment section: * wants to dance with a partner in the kitchen for these tunes *
Me wondering: Am I the only one who wants to sit next to a tinted window in a vintage coffee shop that plays these songs, sipping coffee, and watching the faint raindrops fall to the ground?

I kinda wanna make a cafe or restaurant where the dress code is vintage...

@49jubilee Nah not really.
49jubilee The age of crooners is unfortunately dead. Gone are the days when singers had to have absolute mastery over their instrument, now singers do nothing but take turns screaming at each other.
@@TheHouseontheHill Chloe Moriondo, Mxmtoon, Chevy, Cavetown and many others actually talented singers that you probably don't know about. Please don't put every single singer under one stereotype. The fact that you did not find any good singers does not mean they don't exist.
I was born in the 1981 and my parents adopted me and were born in the early 30s and I grew up listening to this beautiful music!! I’m an old soul for sure and no one my age could understand why I did listen to this music. I didn’t care because it brought peace to my little heart full of love.
i'm 86 and the music reminds me of a gentler time even though it was during ww2 . People then had little but we were happier somehow .the memories come flooding back, both good and bad and i thank the persons who let me hear this again.

My Dad used to always tell me, "I feel sorry for you because you did not live through the Big Band Era."
@Snow Flakesx
I know, right? I know some people who keep posting things like "I look fine, but I'm broken inside". I'm getting real tired of it since they are living lives that seem great, at least to me. If anything, I think I'm the one who has the right to be depressed compared to them. Anyways, if you really have depression why the hell would you joke about it?
Snow Flakesx yeah and end our sentences with a fucking dash. oh sorry forgot to put the dash-
@@obscure884 it's not a joke, it's a sense for someone else to relate to and stop thinking as if they're the only one going through life like that. If you see people laughing, it's humor to a coincidence, much better to laugh at it than cry at it.
@@sugadadie9322 My comment was based on experience. I know people who are intentionally faking depression and are taking it lightly. I know that some are only joking about it to feel better, but the people I met are not depressed whatsoever. They confirmed it themselves. They said that they did it to "fit in".
@@obscure884 sucks to be them, why would anyone want to be depress tho it's not a trend if they're the bright ones they should light up the place to lift up the mood. Okay i get what you mean. They're stupid, but who can blame them they want to "fit in"

Nina G it happened millions of times, those poor fellas
Nina G wow 🤩
Whether it's a ballad or a swing tune, there's no belting here. The singing is uniformly elegant. What's different here, as opposed to today's singers, is that the individual personality of each performer jumps out at you. We know it's Dinah, Lena, Ella, Kay, Frank, Perry. They're all unique, but all the singing is beautiful. And of course, the songs are great, and each artist lets the words and music shine through.
Any song from the 30's would be perfect for a Tom & Jerry episode.
Have dinner at home put this music on, light some candles, slow dance, just like couple's did back in the day. Now you have all makings of a romantic evening. Something's never change.
@49jubilee boi, this music is nice too but nothing can replace rock n roll.

When I was a teenager I can remember dancing the night away once upon a time with my girlfriend. We used to dance slowly to Frank Sinatra’s Stella by starlight. I was a in the navy so I could only dance with her when I came home once a month each year. We spent so much time together when I was home. We hardly ever spent time with our own families, that’s how much we loved each other. Then one day when I was finally able to come home from the war, I got home only to find out she had died in a car accident two months earlier. This news changed everything for me. My best friend, my future wife, my everything was gone forever. I was and still am in so much pain. I want my Cleo back so bad. She’s a memory now that will never leave me. The date is May 31, 2021 and I listen to this song every night while gazing up at the stars. The brightest star is my Cleo waiting for me to be with her again. On some nights while listening to this I can feel her presence with me and I can smell her perfume sometimes. I know she’s gone now but I’m sure she’s still with me some how. Whenever I look up at the stars I can see her eyes, and every time I dance to this song I can feel her body again. I love you so much my dear Cleo. You are truly my everything.❣️
Oh man. I'm so sorry mate. I wouldn't even wish that on my worst enemies. My best wishes to you friend.
Bless you. I know how it feels.

Not all 1970's songs are THAT cheesy. If you like this kind of music, you don't have to bring down songs made in other eras, my grandparents loved those songs.
Worst Username In the World A lot of them were super cheesy, but that's probably how a lot of people in the 70s viewed songs from the 40s. I think we just romanticize the 40s because their lives pretty much sucked by comparison to a lot of the decades that followed.

Imagine hearing the same things over and over again and never being exposed to newer songs or different genres. It gets tiring for me. I’m restoring an old building from 1901 on our downtown square and I love listing to music like this when working on it🔨 I’m going to try to make the building as period correct as I can using turn of the century interior design styles and antique fixtures. The current mess that the world is right now fades away and it feels like I’m going back in time to when things were simpler😌 It makes you feel like its a chilly January evening in 1932 and you walk down the sidewalk after work to the café and grab a 5 cent cup of coffee before going home to your family. This music just has a gentle elegance that makes me feel peaceful and happy😌 Music like this is definitely wayyyy better than the disgusting vile garbage that’s getting cranked out nowadays.
Oh i wish i was born in 20,30s ❤️
Man I’m 12 and fallout showed me this lovely music the first time I played fallout new Vegas I instantly fell in love with the type of music why can’t I live back in the old days I have such an old soul
It kinda feels like I’m living in a sort of disney or another cartoon, just going around the house, doing my things with this playlist in the background. I was looking for something like this, thank you❤️
Like dopamine in every note.
I feel ths with every inch of my body , disney suppramacy
this music reminds me of my nana and grandpa! they were the best and sweetest dancers. this music reminds me of that. they met on a blind date while my grandpa was a freshmen and my nana was a senior. he was moving away and wanted to stay with her so he left my great grandparents and great uncle, dropped out of high school and married my nana! they stayed together for 43 years and right until my nana passed and then shortly after he did. but I just love their love story. 🤍
I wish people still made music like this instead of music with all those swear words that we can't usually play in front of our parents .-.
How could anyone in the world dislike music as beautiful as this? It takes me back to the days of fantasy and sheer wonder.
I wonder what it's like to be born during this time, perhaps minus the Great Depression but it would have been really romantic.

You can put this music on light some candles, slow dance with that special one and it's as romantic today as it ever was. Something's never change.
And, you know, world war 2.
Frankie Booyah I read that as world war z and thought of the game lol
reminds me of the good old times that i wasnt alive for
why can't people make this music anymore..
i just miss the old time that i've never been to
am i the only one who is wishing to live in the past !!
*POV: your with a boy you went out with yesterday and he meets you in a cafe. he cant be around in the daytime, but he has something in mind for you two at nighttime...*
You giggled and he picked your chin up with gentle fingertips. His eyes were so deep. “I’m sorry I can’t stick around today, baby, but tonight…” His tone grew more passionately soft.
“...I want you in my arms.”
You could feel your face burning up like a full volcano ready to burst. He gently caressed your waist and wrapped half of his arms around me to pull you in close. “Tonight, I promise the both of us all the time in the world. We could go to Chicago, we could be on the headlines of every newspaper the next morning, we could have the whole city in our hands by the end of the night, or we could just admire each other, have some easy fun...sharin’ a cocktail or two, go see a show...I wanna spoil you tonight. I wanna love you tonight, baby. whatever you’d like, it's more than fine with me. Tonight’s the night, babe. We’ll have a ball.”
You sigh and stare into his eyes, putting a soft hand on his cheek. "...oh, baby, I'd adore that."
(this is for me):
"Oh, for you to be mine.." He pulls me close. "I know that your mortal, but I'll never let Samael's scythe even come close to you. Ever." He leans in closer. "I love you, baby."
Omg 😭
My heart melted at that, just imagining it makes me want to have a boyfriend/man 😭✋
I'm too single 🤧
Wow. Uh. YES PLEASE
Oh god..amazing
Thank You 😊 My husband and I Love this ❤️ Relaxing by the Lake 🌞
im only 13 yrs old and people need to make more music like this
It hurts when you can’t live in that exact moment you could to have a story nobody can fathom with love
Can i just go back in time for a little while..
I'm imagining myself with my lover dancing on this without thinking of world
I'm married to the sweetest 95 year old woman who is struggling with the challenges that come with old age. I help her with her baths and shampoo her hair and this is the music I put on for her while we do this. I just want you to know what a blessing these songs have been to us. She is suffering from memory loss, but she loves singing along word-for-word with these songs. And on days like today, when she woke up in tears dreading the struggles that the day would bring, she was singing along after about the sixth song and even laughing again. What a lift!!!!! This set of songs is an amazing therapeutic tool for us!!!!! Thank you so very much. May God richly bless you!!!!
God bless YOU for helping your see wife and loving her so! Take care ❤
Notice how the music back then was positive and all about love.
Music today is mainly negative and all about hate.
Yet we have vastly more material wealth than they had back then.
I love how every song from the 30s seems to sound like a classic christmas song 😅
Pleasant music the day after Christmas bringing back memories
All of sudden my room became black and white. It's a magic
who else is n’ old soul 🥰✌️
Listening to these at 3am. Wish i could travel back to their time. So romantic
Angelo Dican me too 😭🤣
It literally just turned 3am here in the UK and I see your comment ☺️
it's incredible how much my soul resonates with this music and I was born in the late 80s. It's magic. Make me nostalgic for my grandparents What I'd give to be able to talk to them now as an adult.
I like to make pastries and bread while these songs play in the kitchen and the sun is out watching me with its rays peeking on my window
has a feeling like sitting in a cafe / bar in 30s or 40s
One day I am going to be hearing this very same song with someone who appreciates it as much as I do while we clink our glasses on the sofa we own together.
I'm turning 18 tomorrow I'm in college and I don't have anybody to celebrate with. I listen to old music when cooking really intimate recipes and I was cooking stew and I just cried realising that I'm just an old soul with no man to dance with. Life is soo sad
I dont understand people dislike this music
