Great video even 2 years later. Training to be an S1 currently so it helps me get an idea of Euroscope and how it works. I know everything else being a student pilot. Just helps with the system. :)
great video! i’m currently training for S1 and i’m also looking to get the gatwick endorsement a bit after so i really love watching this - gets a good view from the student 1 pov. would love a few more videos if you could though
Matt.. I am trying to learn Vatsim... Most impressed by your excellent demo...Shame the audio from you is low compared to the pilots.. I think you should do a video from an ATC perspective on what you expect from a beginner pilot. I spent the last two weeks studying coms and observing, getting ready for my first Vatsim com flight. I happened to tune into a Vatsim controller who was having a rant at beginners not knowing the correct basic Vatsim procedure...Now I have no doubt he may have been 100% right but it really put me off and I nearly gave up.. ....I went again to the airport I have been observing from in the darkest out of the way stand I could find....40 mins later Ground called me up saying...All we need from you is 4 simple steps which he text me in my aircraft. Also said do a flight plan now and i will help you get your clearance to Scotland. Sadly due to me also learning Navigraph I did not have the skill to do this in the 15mins before he clocked off. But his offer of help allowed me next night to press that TX button.. I think you guys and girls do an amazing job but might be nice for you to do a simple video to help us mortals to get over the nerves of pressing that TX button. After all if you don't get new members Vatsim will be at a disadvantage.. Might be worth you chatting with the You Tuber" Huddison " and doing a joint introduction interview...?
Nice experience... I'm currently training for Delivery and Ground in Lagos... Whenever you file your flight plan, you can add that you're new in the rmks section, this way, controllers know how and what to expect from a beginner in the vatsim
@@isaacaddainewton5852 Yes have done that.but to be honest ATC have not cut me much slack.....But I guess they want the standard to be pretty high. Best of Isaac with the training much appreciate you guys giving up your spare time.
Hi, sorry it’s taken me a while to get back to you. Thanks for the feedback it’s really appreciated, and I’ll make sure the sound levels are sorted for the next video! Firstly, it’s very normal to be nervous about pushing down that ptt button, I certainly had it (I remember sitting there for at least 10 minutes before asking for clearance) and I found after you’ve done it once it becomes quite normal and easy. I will definitely start to record and work on a video on what us as controllers expect from new pilots, it’s very disappointing to hear that some vatsim uk controllers aren’t taking it easy with new pilots too. Hope that helps and there will be a new video in the next week or so 👍

I have had a few technical problems re coms with Vatsim (sounded like a spin dryer apparently) but its not the mic as the Discord "Yeehaw " group hear me perfectly. ..Hope to try again tonight.. my Nav panel seems to drop out... I won't give up and will sort the problems.. One of our group is also learning Vatsim and had an excellent controller last night from ATC Edinburgh.. I am not saying ATC Vatsim have been bad just very professional but maybe could be a bit sympathetic to a beginner... Your videos will help. Thank you
Amazing video. New sub. I am learning Lisboa ground and delivery in VatSim. I am thinking to after I have the S1 rating to try to apply for control in Gatwick. Is it difficult? Any recommendation you have ?
