Kaiba has no problem stealing Yugi's grandpa's card and leaving him for dead, but Yugi cheating at a kids card game is where he draws the line. Seems legit.
Well if you knew Kaiba it sounds about right
A card that Kaiba can make multiple copies of
Also a card which he could have just printed another copy of but attacking an old man in leaving him for dead seems like a logical move
@@elithornton5217 i cant tell if you are trolling as the only thing kaiba owns the rights to make are duel disks Maximillion Pegasus invented duel monsters and to my knowledge never sold it as its why he is so rich in the series.
@@Emperor_x8 oh no the point wasn't to have the grandpas card, the point was so no one had a blue eyes white dragon except him.Which even more stupid considering this is an old man who isn't going to any tournaments.

"In every conceivable way."
i mean id be pretty fucking pissed if some asshole rich kid who owns a kids game company stole my grandpas collection of expensive trading cards and then tormented my friends and family for fun

I mean beating up a grandfather so he has to get hospitalized is a worse crime as cheating at a card game imo.
The soul of Kaiba's Girlfriend was in that card.
@@ddd7254 Then why did he rip it in half?
Imagine just Yugi speedrunning the entire show if he never lost Exodia.
Let's see, trip pog, trip jog, trip graceful charity, in that gen Yugi would get exodia within 5 turns 50% of the time. And honestly, considering the formula of the show it narratively would make no difference

@@corruptsolstice340 I believe this is what we call plot armor. But you know what's better than devil magic? Statistical analysis. I submit to you that Yugi is actually so bad at the game that even a passing understanding of it would net you a win easy. Like, even when he had exodia he didn't even build his deck around it.
@@rikusauske That was his grandpa's deck, and this was back when the rules didn't make any sense and could basically do anything you desire.
There was a video with that exact premise, but it was taken down along with several other videos from a channel.
“I’d banish him to an ER” had me rolling on the floor 😂😂
Fun fact: the "heart of the cards" bullshit isn't actually just plot armor. It was a legitimate ability the pharaoh had, fueled by the Millennium Puzzle, which allowed him to draw any card he wanted. Yugi probably should've played blackjack
Not a plot hole, but PLOT ARMOR
Yeah, and it even makes sense in the anime. Almost every time the pharaoh used "the heart of cards" he was on low health, which is the activation method of the skill in the game
Atem: "Like I said, I was cheating."
@@sansplayer6254yeah the fact he can bend fate to his will He's not cheating at all it's just conveniently activates every time he's about to f****** lose, I wonder if it would still activate if someone instantly beat him in one turn
Yup, I recall that during the Millennium Duel it gets its official name. Destiny Draw, if I'm not mistaken. The Pharaoh can bend fate and probability to "will" exactly the card he needs to draw.
Exodia?!
Impossible, no one‘s ever managed to summon him!
“Why? Because it’s so rare?”
No, because nobody understands the f*ckn game
Explodia?!
Aaaah impossible, no one's ever managed to escape him!
Technically, due to the rules of the game, it’s literally impossible to summon him, cuz he’s 5 different monster cards, but you win when they’re in your hand.
If all 5 pieces had to be SUMMONED before you won, I’d REEEEEALLY like to see how different yu gi oh/exodia decks would’ve played out.
"exodia!? impossible!?"

Exodia is a really interesting gimmick tho. It’s kinda not that much used in the meta considering that it’s more optimal to use decks like Kashtira, Tearlaments, Purrely (evil), and stuff like that. All my duels I’ve had has never had anyone use it casually and the main time I’ve seen is that one weird ftk that can easily be stopped with an easy Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring.
The "WOMP WOMP" and "I'd banish him to an E.R if i was you" sent me so hard that i was OBLITERATED.
This actually happened at a Yugioh tournament I attended several years back. First match of the day, giant convention hall filled. Judge announces the start and not 5 seconds later you hear someone scream out "NOOOOO" and it eventually spreads throughout the hall that his opponent opened Exodia.
I would have died laughing
Oh my god
Isn't Exodia banned from tournaments?
@@chickencurry420 It is in fact, not. And it recently placed in one. Reason is - it kinda sucks! Each piece is total garbage as they're pretty much useless individually and that means you've got a lot of dead cards in your deck. Building and running a deck with a cohesive strategy to not only consistently get to those cards, but protect them from removal or your search engine from getting stalled out by interruption is typically considered more difficult than a traditional victory.
If anything an Exodia victory is considered styling on an opponent. The chance of an opening Exodia hand is so vanishingly small that it's nearly always the result of a designed strategy to get it.

The Millennium Puzzle alters probability as it’s power, literally every time Yugi is feeling the “heart of the cards” he is subconsciously making it more likely that he draws the card he needs to win.
"Sub"consciously my arse; dude it just straight up magically stacking the deck

@@ttv_mrjack6749 There's a difference between what constitutes fair play and getting away with it/the rules being unevenly enforced.
That's is false: Yugioh works on the power of fate and willpower. Characters can draw well because of their strong willpower or because of fate. The Millennium Puzzle has no such power.
Kind of funny how despite claiming to hate him, Seto holds Yugi in such a high regard he didn't even consider he might be cheating.
but also Yugi has such a rigged hand that it is impossible that he is cheating simply because there are no cheating methods that match the heart of the cards (his strange Egyptian magic)
Fun fact: Yugi is actually cheating by magical means in the show. That... Isn't just a joke, he genuinely wins by cheating through a method nobody can detect.
Well in this case specifically the lack of card cutting means he’s almost certainly counting and stacking
That scream at 0:43 Is amazing, I felt the energy as it was the same scream I had when I fight any soulsbourne game
The only reason he’s always getting exodia parts is because he has 99 luck with that Egyptian puzzle.🐱
He literally has the power to decide what his next card will be. It is not luck, but actually modifying the cards.
Roll a d100, then roll for initiative
Not luck. He actually has the ability to draw any card he wants, the puzzle fuels that ability.
“AAAH! EXODIA! THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE! NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN EVER TO SUMMON HIM!”
"Why? Is he that rare?"
Funny enough , the original line was just "You've performed a miracle!"
Or something similar, not that nobody EVER summoned exodia
It's the fact that he had no draw power , against three blue eyes, and a mediocre deck all things considered, and STILL won, by collecting all the cards to exodia in that situation that's incredible
"And now I summon EXODIA!!!"
...
“AAAH! EXODIA! THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE! NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN EVER TO SUMMON HIM!”
And this is why Exodia was shortly destroyed after the first episode; Yugi could just abuse his Heart of the Cards ability to win every duel.
Seto: "Exodia?!?! That's impossible! Nobody was able to summon him!"
Yugi: "Of course Kaiba, it's the first episode..."

Despite the guy cheating as well because if i recall correctly the cards were marked
Yep, special invisible ink combined with contact lenses that could see said ink. Plus iirc his exodia cards and a bunch of others in his deck were counterfeits, to boot. Yugi friggin shredded them when he won.
I actually had that happen in a local tournament back in the day, I was playing a speed-run exodia deck that could draw out nearly the whole deck in a couple of turns to get the 5 pieces in hand ASAP, it wasn't an exceptionally great deck but I won way more than I lost and had a couple local tourney wins under my belt, came to another weekly tourney, got my first match, shuffled, rolled to see who went first, drew my hand and immediately called for a judge because I had just *happened* to top deck the 5 pieces in my starting hand before play even started, ridiculously unlikely but it happened, the judge, my opponent, and I were all pretty equally flabberghasted. I offered to reshuffle and play out the round as normal, but my opponent insisted that it count as my first win because technically I did win the first game in a legal manner, and the judge went with that, so we went onto round 2. I don't recall the outcome of that specific tourney, I know I swept round 2 of that match, but the rest of the tourney kinda blurred together with all the others I played with that deck.

What I absolutely love about the 3rd turn was that it COULD BE POSSIBLE Yugi didn't had all 5 pieces in his hand, and that he gained them thanks to Kaiba.
Kaiba literally had only himself to blame for getting Exodia'd a 3rd time.

This is hands down one of your funniest skits man, I've rewatched it so many times already
The last *womp womp* had me on the floor XD
Fun fact: Exodia's gimmick is a side effect of the creator loving a lot of the weird gimmick, blue deck style "alternative win conditions" you get in Magic the Gathering. But, since he originally just made it for a comic book, he never considered how borked it'd be in play. Tbf, it's never that easy or consistent to draw Exodia. You usually really got to optimize your deck for it.
It makes sense that Yugi got the magic card thing even though he shuffled. He only shuffled the bottom half.
Yugi: "Did you think I became Pharaoh because of hard work abd friendship?"

I just imagine Yugi has five exodia pieces that he keeps behind the millenium puzzle just so he can bust out Exodia against Kaiba while distracting him with the Egyptian Magic transformation sequence
That "womp womp" was expertly honed.
Honestly, I think the best part about this is that Kaiba essentially has his own OTK with that Blue Eyes Ultimate since, in the anime, players only had 4000 LP to start with and that dragon has 4500 Attack. In fact, thanks to the anime "rules," he only needs 4 cards to do it while Exodia requires 5.
The only thing holding Kaiba's one-shot back is that it gives his opponent one turn to deal with it, which is all Yugi ever needs to cheat out a win.
Man I love these YuGiOh skits, please never give them up lmao

Kaiba can't take a break, first Yuig consider to push him, went to New Jersy and now this.
Kaiba most likely got PTSD from the first time Yugi summoned Exodia
Canonically, the Millenium Puzzle gives the Pharoah the power to control fate, which means that he can control what he top decks. There's a reason why the writers tossed Exodia overboard: If it had stayed in Yugi's deck, he'd just draw all the pieces every time and that... would be quite boring.
"Thats a stroke" literally had me laughing out loud
Dude every video of yours is a banger, funny voice go haha is top shelf stuff
I have only watched the first episode recently and I can confirm this is exactly what I thought.
Like, he just does that and he wins? What? I alredy knew about the exodia bullshit but I did not expect it to just happen in the first episode
tbf he done it ONLY in first episode, then there would be guy who find ''interesting'' strategy to beat Exodia
It's only used once by a protagonist. A few antagonist use it too
There's a reason the very first thing that happens in Duelist Kingdom is Weevil throwing the Exodia cards off a boat. It's a fun thing if it happens once, but giving your protag consistent access to an "instantly win no matter the current situation" button can't be good for tension.
Later Exodia players are antagonists, using actual strategies based around it rather than just teching it into your deck raw and hoping for the best
Another solid JJ classic
I never thought I'd ever hear Seto Kaiba say run it back.
And yet here we are
The Womp Womp’s got me every time
I think Zexal's Shining Draw has the Puzzle beat. I get the feeling that Heart of the Cards/Destiny Draw simply sorts the deck appropriately. Shining Draw "creates the very card they need", like, just out of thin air, brand new card with specific effects needed. With Atem's power he at least needs to have prepared it in his deck beforehand, Yuma just needs to be a "powerful duelist" and have a good enough imagination. High five the sky indeed.
Actually the millennium puzzle gives yugi the power to will whatever card to the top of his deck so him getting Exodia every duel could happen.
Except this is the one time The Pharaoh used exodia after this he couldn't use it anymore because weevil destroyed the cards

Just gold, this was brilliant
Kind of expected Seto to play Card Destruction and Yugi to just happen to draw the entire Exodia with that.
Exodia is the only set of Cards in the game, i think, that has an entire seperate game-rule which is just "The moment you hold all pieces of Exodia you win"
So your opponent can literally just make you win the game if they somehow manage to make you draw all pieces of Exodia xD
Imagine Exodia vs Omegamon/Omniman vs Arceus
Seems like an odd mix. One is a set of cards, one is a digital being, and one is literally God.
Even if it were fair to compare Arceus to Omegamon, rather than to something like Yggdrasil, what is "I am some cards that people make holograms of" going to do when faced with either?
Granted, it's different if they're just playing Yu-Gi-Oh against each other. In that case Exodia might win if he draws himself from his deck.

I haven't even watched Yu-Gi-Oh and these episodes are by far my favorite
The fucking line delivery on ''I'd banish him to an ER'' was so *Chefs kiss*
Exodia is the perfect meta killer especially in this day and age. Because no matter your opponents defenses and strengths, if you pull out this absolute unit of a card combo they are done. Also his millenium item puzzle kinda lets him cheat due to the power of giving him the cards he wants. That’s the power of the heat of the cards. So in reality he kinda was but wasn’t.
Droll n' lock bird, response?
The hilarious part is, there are absolutely people out there who've started the game with all five Exodia pieces in hand, or even just four pieces, with them ripping into the fifth on their first turn. You can't do anything at that point!
@spooderderg4077 It's incredibly rare for someone to get all 5 exodia cards in the first few turns, let alone on their first draw.
@spooderderg4077Drawing all pieces turn 1 is a 1/658,000 chance I'm sure a lot of people who play Exodia haven't done it
I took the video as saying he was legitimately cheating in a normal way - rigging the shuffle, hiding cards in his hands/sleeves...
I simply expecting him to draw Exodia again, but pot of greed was a nice, equally d*ck-ish subversion! 😂
