It's crazy how the 80s style music over powers the lyrics of the original. I love the original but this is just wow. The lyrics are beautiful and endless.
Strip down the producers, spectacular singers, and once and while you get a great song. This was it for the decade, special and true.

This is so beautiful on so many levels. Lily and her dad take this great song and make it so emotional. I don't know if its because the song is stripped of its upbeat synths or just Lily Winwoods great voice. It just so sweet to have both Winwoods making great music.

Steve has been my musical hero since first seeing him in 1964, in and around the Birmingham area, with The Spencer Davis Group, and I have followed his career ever since, through Traffic, Blind Faith and his solo career. But to hear this version of his hit song, performed with his daughter is just beautiful. I look forward now to following Lilly's career.

This has been a song that I (a child of the 80's) use to sing with my mom when it came on the radio EVERY TIME!! Before hearing this version(of course b/c of the Hershey's commercial) never really listened too the lyrics - as in really understood how deep the song actually is....Until NOW! WOW the original was so upbeat which was awesome, but the meaning of the lyrics got completely LOST in it imo! Im so Thankful for this--- Blessings to Steve & his daughter!

I saw Steve and Lilli do the original at the Peace Center in Greenville South Carolina circa 2017. She did Chaka Khan's parts which is no mean feat in of itself. Just discovered this version and am blown away by the emotional honesty and intensity of this song. Proof positive that greatness more often than not is in the genes.

This arrangement is definitely better than the 80s version which had more of a dance groove. This version goes better with the hopeful lyrics and has a more spiritual feel.
