- In memory and honor of world recognized musician, the late Lhasa De Sela, help us celebrate her life through the viewing of her "Live In Montreal" video series. Shot by Vincent Moon with sound by Matthieu Parisien, this rare and intimate video experience was recorded on April 11th, 2009 at Patrick Watson's Loft in Montreal. These videos - of her playing live - are truly special.
The harp part at the beginning is achingly beautiful.
I got to hear her perform in concert, it was a magical evening. Hearing the stories she told introducing each song brought them to a whole new life, songs that were already beautiful even if you didn't understand the words. I will never forget her performance of "Soon This Place Will Be Too Small" telling her father's story which inspired the song, then turning off the lights in the theater and singing in the darkness.
I got to meet her after the show and I remember how kind and thoughtful she was in answering my question.
What a honor to have seen her perform & meet her. Great story. Gone too soon!
I never comment on here, but I found her about a year ago and I've never witnessed a soul such as this. She makes me feel everything.
