  • These news promos debuted during the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. At that time, the "We're 4 New York" campaign was on also in commemoration of the station-wide "Year of 4 New York 2008: Join In!" campaign alongside Hey Hey It's Saturday which Season 8 also serves the official season of the campaign, but after the Olympics ended WNBC stopped airing the campaign in the wake of the infamous Pre-Primetime Infomercial incident of March 25, 2008, which is also led to the resignation of the station's former GM Frank Comerford, and the resignation of Kathy Ireland at Hey Hey It's Saturday (WNBC's allied program), as well as the boycott of the station by Anti-HHIS Fans and supporters and began making more of these promos with the news team keeping the "We're 4 New York" theme. In November 2008, WNBC redid the campaign after they changed their current logo and studio. This November, WNBC will commemorate the 15th anniversary of the introduction of the current "4 New York" logo which has been in use today.
Tom Spackman, which is the station imaging voice until they fired by the station in November of the same year, was serve as the voiceover on the promos, with the Hey Hey 5 providing the vocals for the "We're 4 New York" musical tag.
