Beautiful cars. The 6G7x Cyclone engines are very underappreciated. But once properly built, can withstand a lot of boost. Especially talking about the 6G72 DOHC, 6G74, and 6G75. The 3SI crowd and 4G Eclipse community lucked out with fantastic engines, but unfortunately the latter got the short end due to lack of foresight on MMNA's part. It would have done the nameplate wonders to pair the 6-speed Getrag with an AWD drivetrain once again. (that FWD 6/MT transmission had wonderful short gear ratios, and dual output shafts.) Sadly, this wasn't to be. But, to those who know and dare - sky's the limit with the power plant.
That VR-4 looks awesome! I like them better with the wing, personally, but super clean none the less. Kind of hearkens back to the early 2000's style too. Super clean, either way.

I'd love to get a couple of my Stealth TT's running like that VR-4. Very impressive. The shorter gearing on the EVO is likely to spell doom for the VR-4 from a dig though. Also, the massive coffee break they take between gears is killing both of them.
the kid in the evo was a newer driver and I didn't want to go balls out on him. i doubt the evo will take me from a dig. ive got JDM shorter final drive.
That certainly helps All of mine are 1st gens with the crazy tall gearing. They pull forever in a gear but my buddy has an EVO and he gets away from me from a dig but from a roll brake boosting it's a different story. He's rowing the gearbox like a 125cc motorcross bike though. He's also making more power than I am right now as the car I keep racing against him is my oldest son's and is almost stock and this EVO is not.
yeah im not a huge fan of the 5 speeds. gearing is waaay too tall and makes the already numb feeling (stock)cars even more bland. I highly prefer the 6 speed with JDM final drive.

evo stands no chance on a vr4. not on a rolling run with both cars at equal who. the ratios on a vr4 is so long the evo will be in 5th while the vr4 is is 3rd. 3rd is way more than enough to go over 100. dodge stealth TT (dodges vr4) and was able to keep up with highway traffic between 2nd and 3rd.
yup you know your shit. i was street tuning my vr4 a few days ago and i couldnt even get a full third gear pull cuz i'd be at 110 before having to brake for another car
A E i had a stealth, ive driven a few evos. While off the line, the evo launch is much harder, the constant shifting is wherr you fall off. Meanehile a 1st gear redline in a vr4 or any variant is equal to 1 and 2nd on a evo. The shifting is what kills thr evo
This was a under rated car just because of its weight. It will still put some of todays new cars in its place. 320 at the crank. Meanwhile most v6 turbocharged cars are just reaching the 300+ range. This was the first Awd and aws sports car to my knowledge at its time which i believe these started her in 91. First twin turbo car period from the factory, then threw in the aws with the body swap. Car was a work of art, and way ahead of its time. Driver oriented controls much like the rx6 and 7, toyota supra and a hand full of others. This was one of very few affordable driver cars. But got left in the shadows, much like the rx7 and supra. While the supra finally made it to the light, rx7 due to reliability issues and 70k full motor rebuild, died off quickly, even fast and furious couldnt bring this car back. 3kgt vr4/stealth rtt never made it to the spot light..... probable cuz the engine kept eatting 3rd gears syncros.
Leon Jones yea they have the cf syncros, sadly someone felt they liked the car more than me and snatched it while i was at work. But it was a monstrous car for its time. Mitsubishi was never good at making transmissions, but those cast iron blocks were monsterous.
My b.o.V. Vacuum hose blew off at take off when just playing around with my friend on a main hwy. At 3 30 on Sunday night we hit 170 mph before the valves floated .
We were airborne many many times my friend was scared and buckled up. Lol. He tried to scare me saying a girl died next turn I was ready to top out though .
Just for future reference there is no car powered by a v4, there are only straight 4 cylinder powered cars. So all the cylinders are lined up one next to the other while v platforms are shaped like the letter v.

I own a 91 GTO. Boy, I love the handling and the performance. It's a much more relaxed driving car compared to a Supra. Though I am a Supra fan boy. I own both these monsters.
