Just got my Nox 800...it's still clean. Without these videos I would've been fudging it at beach. Thanx for all your help. You don't know how helpful your videos have been to me. Greatly Appreciated.
First class instructional video. I use beach one for my searches---sensitivity 21/22---audio 25---auto tracking------reduce default recovery from 6 down to 4---sweep slow and low. Machine seems to run smoothly and quietly at these settings. Lots of good clear signals every visit and overall , good results. Happy digging everyone !
I have a 600 and I think most of these settings will work the same. Thanks for posting these tips - I think I have learned more from this one video than many others posted! Good luck on your next hunt!
So informative......this man is the BEST to follow. Alot to learn but he is a great teacher if you watch various videos, also, he makes every find sound exciting!
Thanks for the update Gigster. Boy your not kidding when you said dig everything. So all day yesterday at the beach I was getting tons of bottle caps and pull tabs and at the end of the day I thought for sure it was another. It came up as a 14 - 15. So I dug it anyhow. It was a Pandora rose crown ring. I looked it up and it's a copper silver with 14k gold plated. Not worth much but it's my first gold ring. Anyway thanks for the great tutorial. Sean , Orlando Fl
I recently got my Nox 800 and after trying to figure this machine on my own, I watched your video and set it to your settings and off to Daytona Beach I went. Within 5 minutes of using it, I dug up a chunky SS bracelet. Although nothing else rang up after that, at least I wasn't digging up junk. Thank you for this easy to follow video!!
I have just came back into the hobby. I'm late to the party with the Nox 800 but thought it a great machine to start up again. I have used your settings, as my mind loves simple, and I don't mind digging. I had a PI detector back in the day so dug everything anyway. haha
Really good video. The part on eliminating the bottle caps is probably the most valuable. I really need to remember it next time. It will save a lot of time and effort.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video. I bought the 600 today and heading out next week to the beach for my first ever hunt ever. I admit I was a little nervous that I wouldn't find not even a bottle cap. Thanks to your video I feel much better about it...
Thank you so much for this video.I subscribed. I got this Equnox 800 for my birthday last week And absolutely love it.I dont miss a thing on the beach.i found a piece of wire 3 feet down.I cant believe how Awesome it is.Buy it .worth it definitely.
Thanks so much Gig! Just got a 600 and your tutorial was tremendously helpful. You also explain why. A lot of people know what to do but very few can teach why. Going to Myrtle Beach in a couple of weeks. I was very intimated up to now, but your video really made helped with confidence for the detector. Thanks again Gig. GL and HH
Hello Steve George here.Good morning.I went to the beach yesterday.Actually picking up lots of bottle caps in the teens area. But when i got 20 or above i would dig, quarters and dimes. And when i see a 9 i dig. After seeing this video ishould dig everything. Now using the horse shoe on the equinox is very helpful thank you.Guess what i got a silver cross a .925.I carry a scale with me it said 2.91 each gram was 54cents each.I go WHAT! LOL.But there was a very fine chain near it and i was picking up the chain in pieces from the cross not sure i thought i had ruin the chain. And $2 in change. It was a great day.I got home made sure i wash the salt from the equinox. But the horse shoe symbol im going to use for now on for the grunt sound of a bottle. Also i carry a manet to see if its real jewlery and the silver cross just slid right off.But the price of .925 sterling silver is not much. But discovering it was indeed.Thank you again teacher i will always remember you while im out there.Thank again!George Centereach long island ny
Great video Gigmaster! Probably one of the best tutorials I have seen on the Equinox 800! I have the 600 and my brother has the 800 and I have seen him dig way more rings and jewelry than me. Some of it is my not knowing my machine so that’s why I watched the video. The tips at the end are well worth watching to the end for! Thanks! 👍
Thanks so much for sharing your know how with us. It really does help. I'm in Scotland and we are in lock down.No detecting so I'm brushing up on my Equinox 800 functions.Hopefully it keeps me sane. Anyway, thanks again and hope you and your family are all well and staying safe.Take Care.
Thanks Gig, I will be using my Nox 800 for the first time on a salt water beach, (I'm down at Orange Beach in Alabama) The sand is like fine sugar/white.
Hey Gig, when the waters get to cool to detect, and when ya start land huntin again, we would sure like another video on your general settings for Land! GL&HH
Thanks great tips .Heres one you can try out when ID numbers are jumping around simply go to pin point the target and then back to motion and it seems to stable the ID number reading
Hey Gig, on the screensaver thing. When the Nox comes from the factory, or dealer, a set of clear screensavers came with it to protect the screen from scratches and such. They had a written guide under each setting to tell what each setting was. They had several in all kinds of different languages for different countries from English, German, Spanish, Etc!
I'm in the market for an EQ 800 and currently doing my research. I love your tips on identifying bottle caps and pinpointing, those'll be super functional for my locations and hunting style. Thanks for the info. peace
Dec 2019, tried your settings and had good results! Played around recovery speed for pinpointing and used gold 2 when I lost The target! Deep results, clad quarter at pro pointer plus 4” (a solid 12 inches) and had a 1” rusty screw above at 7” ! NEED A BIGGER SHOVEL!
Thank you for answering on my request for this video. If you have a video on the Excalibur that would be awesome to see as I am going to purchase only one. Either the Nox 800 or the Excalibur. Thank you Gig I appreciate all that you do and I feel at home watching you and your vids hh
Ty ty gig master i really thank you sir just got mine was kinda intimidated lol too many concussions what can I say ty finally sinking in god bless you and merry Christmas sir
I notice you run yours on 50 tons. Why is that? I've had the 800 for about 8 months now. I hunt the beach two or three times a month and use the same program as this video.
@@diggingcharleston3116 I like the 50 tones because if you have more than one coin type in a hole , the tone will change. Pennies , nickels , quarters all sound different. If the coins all sound the same and you take a scoop and still hear it you may dump your scoop and not realize there was a coin in the scoop. I think this weeks video and maybe the next one have targets that I dig and check the hole and the signal is still there but the sound changed. That lets me know I have one in the scoop and one still in the hole . I first used it in a trash filled park and since that time I have kept it . It gets your attention when you hear a tone that different than the usual . Give it a try sometime. You may find you like it . Happy hunting !
I set my metal detector as you specified in the video which works well in dry and wet sand but when I go in the water it cheeps 1-2 all the time. How should I change my settings to not do that so I can find something. I’m new at this and I want to find some gold 😁 Thanks for all your great videos
I don’t have salt water here so would I use the same setting you use on the beach or what changes would I make. I use the nox800 thanks for any advice 👍
thank you for the tips and set up. what type of scoop do you use when you are on a beach hunt? I am trying to find one with small holes in it. I have lost many earring post clips that fall through the hole in my scoop
I just ordered a Nox 900 and was wondering if you could do a video on the best settings for rivers. Submerged machine. Not a lot of fresh water or river videos out there on the subject. I know being in wet sand on the shore is a little different than underwater detecting less than 5 meters. Thanks
Just got my Nox 800...it's still clean. Without these videos I would've been fudging it at beach.
Thanx for all your help. You don't know how helpful your videos have been to me. Greatly Appreciated.

Thank you. I’m new and can’t wait to try this. I’m in Milwaukee so for now I’ve got to wait till spring. Good luck to you all.

At 10:48, to eliminate the bottle caps, the iron should be on or off?
I don’t eliminate bottle caps afraid of missing gold! I know the sound of bottle caps.
would these settings be VERY similar for the 900?
Thanks Steve, I am sure this will help !
thanks so much for the fast learning.... it really helps,

Try lowering the sensitivity a couple numbers
Gigmaster thanks I’ll try that. I haven’t found any gold yet and I hope going in the water changes my luck. 👍 love your content
Thanks GIG !!!
I don’t have salt water here so would I use the same setting you use on the beach or what changes would I make. I use the nox800 thanks for any advice 👍
Very informational! I was shocked when I took it to the beach there was no chatter from the mineralizaion of Maine beaches!
Gigmaster as always 😊 happy, positive and funny dude. 😎 😎 😎
I just got my equinox 600 can I set it up at home before I go to the beach except for the ground balancing
Great video. Easy to follow. Would like to see what you do on settings when in 1-2” of water at the beach. Anything different?
can you post your beach setting so we can print?
