Live with non-Toyota's first and you'll find out why you'll love a Toyota.
I’m lucky enough to have started with a Toyota & I pick up my new 2nd Toyota tomorrow! I’ve driven many other cars (not owned them) and I wouldn’t dream of having anything else but Toyota! 😊
One correction:
Yaris Hybrid has the SAME boot volume as a standard Yaris, because hybrid battery is under the rear seat.
Also, there's also a boot floor shelf in accessorises which then gives you flat floor.
У меня такой Yaris , по кличке Ярик ) 1,5 i кпп гидротрансформатор. Нарадоваться не могу !!! 10/10 !!!
Reviewers are obsessed with comparing every small hatch to the fiesta. The issue i have with this is not everyone is 20 years old and needs a car to be "fun" as he so puts it. Reviews like this are always unfairly negative about cars unless they happen to be the current best selling models, (which just means the most popular and has no bearing on taste or quality), and seem biased towards a certain age group who are not mature enough to appreciate a car unless its full of gadgets etc.
What about people 50 plus who want a reliable car that would be used mostly around town and do not want something that has the power of a sports car
+Bernadette Hynes - Cafferkey well they make skoda fabias for people like yourself.
+Simon George TBH Ford fiesta is not all it's cracked up to be. I have heard them saying that Ford fiesta with 60bhp drives better on motorway than a car with 100 bhp. I would never pick a Ford over a VW, Toyota, Fiat, Vauxhalll...etc I'll never waste my money.
Ooh Arhh whether you are being sarcastic or not, I cant tell, but the Fabia as actually a good car, but of course you sound like a badge snob so it wont interest you. Some people prefer to be individual and not follow everyone else in life.
Sam R well said, wise words. Reviewers are biased, and think they get paid by Ford :D. Fiestas are cheap and nasty inside, my girlfriend had one, soon got rid as it had allsorts of mechanical problems on a BRAND new car! Focus she had after it was awful as well. She has a Yaris Hybrid now, much better quality and reliability
How do you give a car 6/10 when its reliability is way out in front of its rivals??
because it's Japanese and not European. Reviewers are always biased.
Very true.
@@Awayze it’s built in France!!
I wasn’t saying you didn’t know that by the way, I’m just saying it’s silly isn’t it that they are so biased, when technically it’s French not Japanese!!
@@RedCyanPhotos Assembled in France, using many parts that were developed/made Japan, the engine and gearbox is made by Aisin,(Toyota).
That Toyota Yaris, with proper maintenance, will still be on the road when most of its rivals are on the scrap heap; scores out of 10, on the day, don't outweigh the
test of time.
I don't understand the 7/10 scoring logic for affordability given the positive comments v.s. 8/10 given to a Fiesta with very average comments. I also agree with other reviewers that the mic volume on the host needs to be amped up a few notches.
How hard is it to understand for all car journalists that the small lip you get in the boot when you fold down the rear seats comes from the lack of splitter (false boot) that you get in those presentation cars (I'm guessing). I have a Yaris, with a splitter, and whenever I went to Ikea I just move the splitter up and, with the rear seats folded, I get a completely flat load bay.
You're trying to make it seem less practical than it actually is, why?
I didn't pay extra for that splitter, by the way. And if you have to on lower-spec models, it has to be about 80 euros, I think it's worth having.
Hi Gary, if you look at the pricing then you'll see it's gone up £100 like for like. (Icon 1.33 5 door) hardly £1500 ps I'm in the industry and this is one of the best cars in its segment.
Just looking at this review now as a first car for my son. I’m more than happy to opt for something without a turbo and I bet the Toyota will be more reliable than a Ford.
yes I have a ford focus and it has been through a steering rack, heater core and crankshaft position sensor and the car only has 88,000 kilometers on it
@@dalesmith4985 Surprised it needed a steering rack!
The 208 does not have heater controls via the touchscreen.
Thumbs up for the parking camera selfie.
all cars and all reviews are bad,but you are an gods, this cars is fine ,no anu issues. !!!
I bought a brand new automatic 5 door 2014 Yaris YRS hatchbatch nearly 6 six years ago. I'm in Australia.
My controls aren't like the car he's reviewing here - I don't have an engine start/stop button or a touch screen. My vehicle is the older 2014 version that he briefly mentioned at the start. I do love the addition of the volume up/down buttons on the steering wheel of mine though.
Visually, I loved the range of colours and the body that Toyota chose for this model and it's sad that my colour (Cosmopolitan) only stuck around for a few years before being removed from their product lines. It's pink, but not screamingly pink or childlishly pink.
I haven't racked up a ton of kms - Almost 60,000. In this time, I've only had to replace an air conditioning filter (supplied free with my capped price servicing), a windshield wiper (also covered by capped price servicing) and a set of tyres.
My advice: Don't hesitate if you want a car that'll take care of itself, reliable, cheap on parts and if you live in the city - Even better. The fuel economy is very nice even if you drive in stop-start traffic.
I have ordered a Toyota Yaris Hybrid, coming Dec 2014. But Chris, you drive on wrong side.
Nice review
Ο
My Fiesta fell apart inside and out.
+Out Buzzed the interior of mine is getting there, id still take it over any other car in the range though
They should make it a tsport
I am sick of hear "its not so fun to drive as fiesta"
Reviews on telegraph are lies

Comfort Yaris 4/10, I have no problem with it and Iam 190cm tall. Evrything is adjustable as in Fiesta.
Dashboard layout yaris 4/10, I really dont understand why score is so small, the only negative point you could give for hard readable touch screen in sunlight, however I dont think its problem, brigtness can be adjusted. Also dashboard is from very good materials.
Easy to drive 7/10 vs Fiesta 9/10, Yaris's outer dimensions are smaller, it has also better turning radius
Fun to drive 6/10, I couldn't stop laugh when I was driving yaris:P
Fuel economy yaris 6/10 vs 8/10 Fiesta...because yaris mpg isnt as good as offical, but is still better than fiesta:P Honest John stats says that avg yaris can do 55.mpg Fiesta can do 50 mpg (I was watching similar engines), with yaris hybrid is no problem to reach 60mpg
Safety 7/10 yaris vs 9/10 Fiesta, thay have pretty same stats on IIHS and NCAP tests, very small differences, in Januray 2016 also Safety sense will be available for yaris.
Also please check carbuyer.co.uk, funny reviews.(please focus on customer rating)
Yaris
carbuyer rating 2.5/5
customer rating 4.2/5
Fiesta:
carbuyer rating 4.4/5
customer rating 4.1/5
Polo:
carbuyer rating 4.6/5
customer rating 4.0/5
Conclusion:
I strongly disagree with your:
"There are better small hatchbacks, including the Ford Fiesta and VW Polo."
+Prostredny Hrot im a fiesta driver but the best car in the class is the honda fit .you get reliability ,safety and, a lot of room .i think the best way to buy a car is look at the consumer reviews people buy cars for different proposes. a lot of car reviews are car people and only represent a small percentage of buyers .
+kurt roepke Thank you, I agree with you, better to check consumer reviews or comments under magazine reviews :D
They represent only small percentage of people, but not buyers, they are reviewers. Maybe that its reason why its so important for them to have car which is fun to drive, it brings exciting to their maybe boring job of being reviewer.
However I think professional reviewer should stay more objective and try to reflect buyers needs, not their subjective feelings.
if i may ask you, Why did you buy fiesta? because its fun to drive?
I was thinking about fiesta too, but we have very poor local ford customer services, and than I found yaris hybrid, which is best fit for my needs.
i'm single so i don't need the room it also handles extremely well and looks great. i was going to buy a focus but i wasn't to keen on the looks back in 2014.
will driver ever need to use the holder that right above them ?
I guess it's only there because it was cheaper to design a single roof for both left driving (UK) and right driving cars
sadly, the yaris even basic remains quite expensive, Toyota do not offer affordable deals to its customers, therefore I chose the Celerio from Suzuki at £6500. I would love one of those, maybe next time.
Toyota 6/10??, bad review
Hey, yo! Magnificent. cub shallow What's your opinion about this, guys
Michael Fischer he’s got a strange hairline
Toyota are built to last 5year warranty why would you buy the others it's a small city car if you want fun buy a sports car I've had every generation of yaris the only problem I have ever had is a front wheel bearing on a mk2 which was replaced under warranty the dealer networks in the UK are excellent and they hold their second hand value
my Yaris has a flat floor when rear bench down, this UK version must be made in Africa
How much money his a car to Jamaica?
why yaris in this video is so different than one I met on south east asia? so looks like they arent making 1 model for all market
oh I see now, yaris in Indonesia and Europe have different design, but still those Indonesians yaris looked much better
Que no me ha
It is loud because it has a timing chain.
Not powerful enough for motorways and it's a student car
My mk1 still floors it on the motorway & costs sod all in petrol. I’m 36 (not a student) & certainly don’t drive like a girl either. I get the 64 plate 1.33 Icon tomorrow.
