Thanks Mike. We only got our Aira heat pump installed and commissioned Thursday last week. So far so good, but these tips may come in useful. Good to know.

Cool, I watched through your install series.
Would be awesome if you could do an update on performance!
    Just a few things.....
I am a little concerned that they hadn't already known that flow to the furthest parts of the house would be poor......I would expect this to be something that was thrown up as an issue by the design software (I appreciate there are some unknown's with existing pipework but never the less).
Couldn't have the Internal DHW Cylinder, buffer vessel etc have all been installed in your cellar?
And if so this may have simplified/shortened the external and internal pipe runs (possibly a different location for ASHP to??)
I didn't see any Anti-Freeze valves installed just behind the ASHP.
Does that mean that are using Glycol (antifreeze additive), this is necessary in some parts of the UK. However if used where not required this harms performance over water with corrosion inhibitors?
OR what happens if something did freeze up?
I still find it frustrating that they insist on installing Buffer Vessels on every installation. It's a design choice that puts the interests of the manufacturer (HP longevity) ahead of the consumer (increased efficiency/reduced operation costs).
In reality Buffer vessels should ONLY be used where they are determined to be necessary from a design perspective.
I am not saying that yours doesn't require one. Just that they use them regardless.
