I got to see one of these in person when I worked for Brook Mays 25 years ago. The guy didn't know what he had. Our manager, Bill Gentry, who used to be a well known trumpet player told him about the history of this instrument. His serial number traced back to one of the last ones made before the silver was stolen.
My 1938 and 1948 King Master Cornets have a Micro- Tuner. Which I like a lot. It appears for some reason not to be on this King Master Cornet. Mine are both in all brass, both have a great full sound with a 1 1/2 B Bach Cornet mouthpiece. My 1938 brass one has the fancy art deco engraving. Will keep them too death do we part. Those Silver Tones are nice looking horns though.
Trent Austin Yep. A bit of an eBay gamble that paid off. I actually don't know much about the horn or how King named their instruments. It looks similar to the Opus 7, which I took to be a good sign. Anyway, it'll be a fine horn if I ever switch back to cornet from alto horn in my brass band.
The A stop is really clever but I hate it because I like to swab the leadpipe and tuning slide dry after playing (especially in winter) and it takes ages to unscrew it all the way. It’s a really nimble horn though playing-wise.
Smooth as butter ,nice sparky brite tone ,oh yea I want dat 😮
Love that sound!! Im really into Nat Adderley aswel, man what a musician he is !

Coincidentally received a King Tempo II 604 in the mail around the time the notification for this video popped up. It's my first King, and I love it.
Very cool!

Lovely lovely stuff
I wish y'all carried springs for these old kings.
Just a random question, why do you opt for acrylic mouthpieces over something like steel or titanium for allergies?
The Silversonic bells were in two pieces. Were the Silvertone bells one piece?
I have one of these and it needs some serious repairs. Who would you recommend to work on it?
Sounding great as always T.
I always think Mike DelQuadro and Josh Landress do great work!
I think they’re cool gives me something to look forward too....” coming attractions” 🎭
Also noted thanks!
Hey Trent, I want to purchase the king cornet. How do I do this? Leave my number?
Link in description to purchase 😎
I for one do not need these advance warnings. They are clutter.
Duly noted.
