Ellenton has a variety of stores but it needs a Face life the landscaping some parts looks horrendous and the mall needs a paint job. But you have to spend money to make money nowadays. 🤷🏽♂️
Jose,I forgot to mention that I have seen the emptiness and the transitions in the malls with a lack of customers because rents are going up everywhere,however you have more consumers purchasing items online these days.
From a local... The mall was very good years ago. One issue that the mall has is that there is nothing but clothing stores, and nothing else to do in the area. To mall mgmt, you need to clean the place up, and diversify your retail offerings. Parking lot, and the sidewalks are looking dirty and run down. And there isn't any excitement in the shopping center during holidays. A big yawner.... In regards to brawls... There were issues, but those issues could have happened at Wal-Mart, Lakewood Ranch UTC, Brandon Mall or anywhere else. The entrance off of I75 is dangerous and confusing. It's not the driver's fault next to you if they cut you off. The entrance needs to be modified to accommodate the larger traffic pattern. If you get in the wrong lane, you can do a U-Turn a half of mile down the street. Lastly, there is a Lowes down the street, Applebees, Chilis, Hungry Howies, Dunking Donoughts, MC Donalds, Taco Bell, Starbucks in the outlet as well as across the street, CVS, Ulta, etc. More stores are moving into the area. On a side note, I think developers are still trying to figure out if the outlet area is the way to go for further development or if they are going to build a bigger retail outlet a few exits further north.

You missed a major big-time story out of Okeechobee. If you pass through there again, there was a state reform school for boys there. They tortured children to bloody pulp there for a long time. You could give quite a presentation about it and I can give you all kinds of detailed information about it.

My dad and my uncle built phase 1 and phase 2 of that mall. Things have gone downhill maintenance wise at that mall.
